My name is Bruce, and unlike another Bruce you may have heard of, I do not need to be “The Boss”. I just want to be a loveable member of your family! I am a four year old handsome pit bull terrier who is in search of a new home. When you think of a perfect family dog think B-R-U-C-E B- best friend for your children. I am gentle but rugged enough to withstand Children playing with me! R- really loves to cuddle U- unbelievably friendly C- car rides are so fun for me E- enjoys sleeping, eating and playing with toys I do well on a walk, but I would prefer a home where I can be the only pet as I love your attention. I am very smart and already follow several commands. As you can see I am quite the catch with so many wonderful qualities. Story
Meet sweet Julie, who will melt your heart with her sweet eyes and her even sweeter personality! Julie is super handler oriented and would prefer to be cuddling with you over anything else in the world! Julie seems to be a boxer mix who was found as a stray dog in Philly. She's estimated to be about 7-8 months old and looking for a kind owner who can show her the ropes to be the best grown up pup she can be! Julie is looking for a rescue partner to pull her from ACCT Philly. Please email lifesaving@acctphilly.org if your rescue can help! Video: Julie the cuddly girl: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/K2N0gokVCK8?feature=share Julie with her squeaky toy: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/McfRfIlUOB4?feature=share Cuddling Julie: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/CvVXbcze5vk?feature=share Behavior: Per Volunteer 8/18/24: Such a sweet, small, wiggly pup! She's definitely super scared in the loud shelter and was very hesitant walking through the kennels and walking through doorways. She sat and waited patiently while we had some traffic and other dogs had to get by. No pulling on leash! She does zigzag so just needs some training there. SOOO sweet and affectionate!!! she came right to me for pets, took rubs all over. Not very treat motivated- she knows sit and explored the treats by sniffing them but didn't eat them. She might have somewhat of a prey drive as she chased every bird in the play yard. Such an affectionate little lady- we did the photoshoot and she wouldn't sit when she wasn't in my lap so we ended up taking a photo together! Got into my lap several times over our outing and was giving me kisses and taking pets all over. She chased a squeaky toy once and fetched it back but much more interested in me! sooo sweet, what a little velcro dog. Per Staff 8/18/24: BEHAVIOR EVALUATION: KNOWN HISTORY: Stray KENNEL PRESENTATION: Julie was wiggly at the front of her kennel and had soft eyes and a wagging tail. She was patient for leashing and exited easily without any issues. No issues returning to kennel either. LEASH SKILLS: Pulled minimally HANDLING: In the room Julie was friendly and well mannered. She had soft eyes and a wagging tail while out with me and would solicit attention often. She was just as content to explore the room on her own and afterwards would come back over to me again for attention. She was social in the room with multiple handlers and allowed multiple people to pet her and greeted them with relaxed body language. Gentle with treats as well! PLAY: Engaged in play TOYS: Interest but no possession ACCT Philly is located at 111 West Hunting Park Ave in Philadelphia. We are open for adoptions 7 days a week. Please visit www.acctphilly.org/adopt for details. If you are a rescue interested in pulling this animal, please email our lifesaving team, or visit here if you are not currently a rescue partner: https://acctphilly.org/acct-philly-love-local-partnership-program/ Confirmed placement is considered a confirmation of an actual rescue pull. What we know about Gus: Great with dogs Great with kids (has lived with kids and another dog previously) Awesome temperament Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus is located in East, TN. But if you are seeing this on adopt-a-pet, transport fees are included in the adoption fee. Out of state adopters are welcomed. Transport is available to your area in the NorthEast or Great Lakes area. We use the most animal friendly transport on the road (Rescue Riders Transport)! What we know about Gus: Dog Friendly Kid Friendly Has lived with kids and another dog previously Awesome temperament NO cats Calm, great on a leash About 2 years old Potty trained Crate trained Loves snuggles Gus came to us extremely underweight, nearly bald, with open wounds all over his body due to Demodex mange. He has since recovered fully and is ready to find his forever family! Gus was far too interested in the cats when we cat tested him as his herding instincts are present with these types of animals. However, he is great with other dogs and we use him to help introduce new dogs to the rescue. He also does fantastic with the 3 year old human on the rescue property! Gus has gone out on multiple Doggie Day Outs and did so well each time! He was his happiest self at the dog park with his rescue buddy (Folly) who has since been adopted. He likes to meet new people and go for car rides! We think he could be a heeler mix because of the speckles but we truly still don’t have a great idea about breed. The regrowth of hair didn’t help us with this as much as we thought it would 😂 Note: Since Gus has a history of Demodex mange, this means he is genetically predisposed to this condition if he does not take flea/tick prevention regularly. He is currently on Simparica Trio and doing so well. Please let us know if you have any questions about this condition!

We adopted Nike from our County's animal shelter a couple months ago. He was found as a stray and spent a few months with them before we found him. They belive he is 3 years old. He's a lover...favorite thing is to lay his head on your lap as you scratch his ears and massage his neck. He's doing very well with his training and working on his impulse control.
