Story
King is a 2-year old Boxer-Pitbull mix (his brother is Butch, who is also posted). He weighs approx. 70 lbs. King's caretaker died, leaving him and many other dogs in danger. All other dogs have been placed. King and Butch are currently staying at property of the deceased, were abandoned by owner, and are unwanted by current residents, unable to care for them. They are able to spend some time outside in nominally fenced yard; rest of time kept in modular structure being repossessed. My husband and I are feeding and walking them. King does very well on leash, even when other dogs are barking through fences or deer are roaming close by. Since they were raised around many other dogs, including Chihuahuas, they are good with other dogs. Not sure about cats. Both dogs ride well in my vehicle and are gentle when given treats by hand. Somewhat surprisingly, they are sweet, well-adjusted, energetic, happy dogs needing loving homes.

Story
My story Here's what the humans have to say about me: Meet Jewel! Jewel was in a small rural shelter in La Joya, Texas on the border of Mexico. She was picked up as a stray with her 5 cute little happy puppies. We think she is a boxer/terrier mix, 50lbs and around 3 years old. She has beautiful eyes that look through your soul. And her underbite smile is everything! Jewel is a jewel! A true gem. She is super friendly, happy, loving and wonderful! She has never met a stranger and gets along great with other dogs. She has a playful side, but she isn't overboard, and loves loves loves being with people. Our van was totally full on our last trip to the border, but we just could not leave her and her puppies behind, after her heart felt yodel in the kennel. Must watch her video. She is a great dog, with a wonderful happy future full of love and fun to give to the right family. Story
Copper was born in Washington State and was bought from a breeder at 8 weeks old. He's 4 years old and a sweetheart who loves butt scratches, pup cups, walks, bacon and sleeping under blankets in bed with humans. While he likes walking in bodies of water, he's not a swimmer. He loves going on car rides and especially enjoys riding shotgun. My family had to relocate and while we would love to have Copper remain in our family, between work and school schedules he's not getting the attention he deserves. I would love for Copper to go to a home with a large area for him to run and play and maybe have another playmate. Somewhere that he get's treats and all the pets and scratches he wants. Somewhere where they don't mind having a dog on the couch or in bed.

Introducing Chloe, the spirited 7-year-old rescue terrier with a heart as big as her 70-pound frame. This lovable canine companion is a cherished member of her foster family. With a zest for life, Chloe's favorite pastime is embracing the great outdoors, where she can be found either playfully frolicking in the grass, basking in the sun, or on her favorite spot - the cozy couch. Chloe is a well-mannered, house-trained beauty, adored for her affinity for both adventure and relaxation. She's a pro at the art of lounging but equally enthusiastic about exploring new places, especially if it involves a thrilling car ride. Her kennel-trained demeanor showcases her discipline and intelligence, making her a delight to be around. One of Chloe's most endearing qualities is her love for company, especially when it comes to puppies - she joyfully engages in playtime, demonstrating her gentle nature. This sweet girl has a special fondness for other dogs, particularly those who are more submissive. A meet-and-greet with potential furry friends is recommended, as Chloe's gentle nature truly shines in the company of like-minded companions. Nothing brings out her contentment more than belly rubs and the warmth of a caring hand. Chloe's boundless affection and playful spirit make her not just a pet but a cherished family member, reminding everyone lucky enough to know her that rescue dogs like her have an extraordinary capacity for love and happiness. She is fully vetted, heartworm negative & on preventatives, spayed, & microchipped. She is being fostered in a home in Seguin, TX.

Story
Tyson is available in TX! Meet Tyson, affectionately known as "TY TY BOOTY," a 3-year-old pit bull who is really starting to come out of his shell. Tyson has a laid-back demeanor but enjoys a playful romp with other dogs in a little pittie rumble. While he hasn't shown off any zoomies yet, his curiosity keeps him eager to explore. Tyson is incredibly food and treat-driven, quickly hopping into his crate at bedtime in anticipation of a reward. Though he doesn't like being left alone and prefers to stay close to his people, Tyson is a sweet-natured pup with a hint of puppy mischief. He has a particular fondness for oven mitts and the occasional Amazon package, but with a bone to chew on, he settles down quietly. Tyson has been an easy foster. He might be a bit anxious around small children and large crowds but is wonderfully gentle with his foster family's 13-year-old autistic son. Tyson is looking for a loving home where he can be a loyal and wonderful companion. To see more pictures and videos, copy and paste this link. Story
Ginger is a resilient and loving dog who has come a long way from her days on the streets. When first rescued, Ginger was severely malnourished, but with dedicated care and plenty of love, she blossomed into the healthy, joyful dog she is today. Despite her rough start, Ginger's spirit shines in her affectionate nature and deep bond with her favorite people. One unique aspect of Ginger's appearance is her cropped ears, cut too short by her previous owners. Her fosters like to joke that maybe they secretly wanted a cat, and Ginger, with her unique look, carries it well! She's a wonderful snuggler, always ready to curl up beside you for a nap or lean in for extra affection. When it's playtime, Ginger transforms into an eager fetch partner, and when she's not running around, she loves basking in the sun. Ginger loves affection but should not be in a house with children as she can play too rough. Ginger is also housebroken, making her easy to care for at home. She's great in a crate for a couple of hours, especially if she has a chew toy or a snack-filled Kong to keep her entertained. She also loves car rides and would make a fun, loyal road trip buddy. Although Ginger enjoys human company, she prefers to be the only dog in the household, where she can soak up all the love and attention. Ginger is ready to bring warmth, loyalty, and joy to a forever home that appreciates her unique charm and affectionate personality. Ginger is being fostered in Seguin, TX. She can be adopted in other states (except NH and MA due to their quarantine laws). Her adoption fee is $250 & her transport fee is $300 if adopted out of state. To apply for Ginger, please fill out her application below: https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-527
