LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSES  Est. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I really enjoy the company of most other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care, the dog park, and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Hi everyone my name is Dee Dee. I am a short little sweetheart looking for my forever home. I am crate and house trained, loves to go on car rides, long walks on my leash, belly rubs and will twirl in circles when it’s meal time! I am such a smart girl that knows how to sit, stay, up, lay down and go to my kennel. Entertaining and a cuddle bug all in one package. Now for my dislikes…In case of thunderstorms, fireworks, or the vacuum(yes I know it’s a strange one;   don’t judge ) I will want to cuddle up next to you or take refuge in my kennel until the noise is over. I’m looking forward to meeting you and cuddling on the couch watching a movie together.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 12:37 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.BIG, STRONG MANBOERNE here and I'm an older, big strong man. I found myself at a local shelter and then these folks from Houston Boxer Rescue came and picked me up and now I have shelter, food, and love.  As you can see, I'm handsome.  I have lovely eyes, soft fur, and a heart of gold.  I'm approximately 6-7 years old, so I've been around the Boxer block. I know many commands and I'm a very nice fellow to all other humans.  I will do well on a walk.  I was in a foster home with other dogs, but I want to be the KING of the house.  Therefore, I will do best with a home where I am the MAN....like the only man, dog, critter.  I will reward you with all of my love and affection for the rest of my life. So, if you are looking for the Big, Strong, Silent type of MAN....I'm your guy.  Apply for Boerne today...you will not be disappointed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 12:37 pm

Story
Meet this sweet boy, Georgie (previously Bruno), who was abandoned at a local dog park. One of our volunteers found him with a note attached. He had a family but they could no longer care for him so they left him where they hoped a true dog lover would find him. Fortunately, the plan worked. Georgie is about 10 months old, possibly lab, boxer mix. He is vaccinated and neutered and heartworm negative! He is a sweet boy but like most young pups needs training and exercise. Check out this video by Georgie's foster  https://vimeo.com/934607900/8e64769336?share=copy If you are interested in adopting this adorable boy who is so deserving of a great home fill out our application right away,  www.scoutshonor.org    August 17, 2024, 12:06 am

Story
Meet Badger! This sweet-faced little guy is ready to steal your heart! He was found as a stray with an injured hip, stumbling and confused. After several specialists evaluated him, it was determined that he is in very good health, and is possibly a distemper survivor. Badger is now ready to live his best life!! Badger has a sweet personality. He has foster siblings both big and small and he LOVES to play with them. He would greatly benefit from having another dog in the home who could continue to support him- he really needs a buddy. When he's tired, he is content to settle down and sleep at your feet or in a fluffy dog bed. Badger has human siblings, ages 6-16, and he is gentle and kind with all of them. He is food motivated and loves rotisserie chicken. No resource guarding has been observed, and you can remove toys or food from him with no problem. He has no problems on a leash, no aggression either, but we're not sure about how he is with cats. Badger is excellent in a kennel. He willingly goes in his kennel throughout the day and never makes a peep. He is quiet all night long in his kennel, but he would probably also love snuggling in a bed under the covers! He is almost completely house trained, with only a rare accident, but he is eager to please and will continue to learn. Badger is continuing to learn how to trust people. It is possible that he hasn't been treated kindly in the past. He will occasionally crouch down when approached, as if he expects something bad to happen. Kind words and gentle pets help reassure him. There is nothing not to love about Badger. He wants to live his best life, and he would bring JOY to any family. Please consider giving Badger his biggest wish- a forever family!!
