Story
Licorice is one of those dogs that you can just look at and see gentle ease. The way Licorice approaches you for connection and affection could make you think he is a bit shy but after spending time with him, I can tell you, he is so warm and simply approaches love slow and sweet. One of my favorite things about Licorice, besides his contentedness, is his happy trot on leash. He has those high stepping feet that truly just make you smile. I have him called fancy feet by a few people and his walk described as a cantering horse. It is cute and you can catch a glimpse of it in his get-to-know Licorice video here- https://youtu.be/2cDgSM5vRR4 Estimated to be just over a year old, Licorice currently weighs 44 lbs. He is on a bit of a weight gain journey, and is expected to settle in around 55 lbs, a perfect medium size boy. Given the nature of Licorice being a rescue we cannot guarantee age or breed but from our observation he is likely a boxer/ hound mix, though we haven’t heard any vocalizing associated with the breed, the ears and coloring are giving hound, the body is giving boxer. However you look at it, he is a gorgeous boy ready for love. With his calm demeanor and quiet disposition, Licorice is going to be a wonderful companion to you, your family and the extended family of animals in your home if you have them. He feels comfortable in the company of other dogs, reading them well. He won’t necessarily be the first to start a round of chase with a new friend, he will join for a bit. One of the biggest take-aways after seeing him introduced/play with a variety of dogs is how understanding and tolerant he is. From very eager, bouncy puppies to a big, reserved male- he carries himself with unbothered understanding. This quality makes him an easy fit for most any dogs. A home with an easy-going, friendly female companion would be a dream. Another dog in the home will help him feel secure and encourage his playful side to emerge. Thanks to his size and chill nature, Licorice doesn't need much- a cozy home with a little yard to explore, occasional walks to help him continue to socialize, but mostly- a warm heart to call his. He is easy on leash and is happy to keep pace with his handler, he is still building his confidence in new environments . He is young and experiencing so many new things, time and socializing is all he needs to continue growing his understanding and confidence in the world. A little country life is what I imagine he dreams of- the quiet and slow paced life, maybe even the suburbs. Licorice is currently wearing a puffy jacket to combat a TX cold-front and once it is was put on him, he loved it and was happy to keep it on. Honestly, it looks like he is proud of his coat and it is adorable. Basically, if building a doggie-wardrobe is a goal, you have your perfect model. I can see him now with his high-step prance and an awesome outfit hitting the sidewalk for his own runway moment, each and every day. Honestly, he will be happy to join you around the house or on the couch in whatever outfit you choose, I'll warn you though- he does sneak a few kisses during outfit changes. With his adoring face, quiet charm and loving loyalty you are going to feel just as lucky to have him as he is going to feel to be yours. What a gift! If his sweet, gentle nature speaks to you, Licorice may be your perfect match. Fill out an application today and give this sensitive sweetheart the loving home he deserves! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/677869b62b40d2536f06c9f7 Questions? You can join along on our private Facebook event page to follow their adventure, connecting you with other adopters and providing updates throughout their transport journey! You will get to meet your new pup over a video call before signing paperwork, creating a fun and personalized adoption experience!  The adoption fee is $825 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectible, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!  We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success.  Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress!  Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.  The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue.  While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family  Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions  70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer  Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Story
Cooper is easy to love, adorable and sweet, a friend to all he meets. This dreamy boy is small dog friendly, kid friendly and a perfect office buddy! He goes to his foster mom’s office every day, a veterinarian clinic, and adores meeting everyone there. He’s a total family dog with a heart for the socialites among us, he loves to have friends around and adores all people. We believe that Cooper is a Boxer, American Staffordshire Terrier mix. He is estimated to be around a year old, past the terrors of puppyhood but still young and trainable enough to become your perfect dog! Cooper is very trainable too, already knowing “paw” and “sit.” He’s food motivated, and a gentle treat taker, which will make further training enjoyable and rewarding for both of you. Cooper is a rescue, so his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Cooper weighs in around 45 pounds and loves to lay across your lap in a snuggle. Meet Cooper here: https://youtu.be/Ly1Vaqe8teI?feature=shared Currently fostered in a loving, multi-dog home, Cooper is accustomed to the house dog lifestyle. He loves to curl up in his soft dog bed and adores toys, especially balls. His foster mom reports that he doesn’t have indoor accidents and does well in his crate. Cooper is still learning his leash manners, but with a little polishing he’ll be a perfect walking companion in no time. Cooper is fostered with a shih-tzu mix and does well playing with his smaller companions. We believe that Cooper could live with dogs of all sizes! Cooper goes to the vet clinic that his foster mom works in every day. He gets along well with everyone and enjoys the extra attention that strangers bring. He regularly hangs out with children at the clinic, and does well with kids! He loves to play fetch with them and give kisses. He’s also great in the car, and doesn’t mind the commute! He sits up in the backseat and watches the window. We believe that Cooper would do well in a home with other dogs, or as your only child. We believe Cooper would do really well as a family dog. Cooper could live in an apartment, or in a house. Cooper is such a sweetheart, and he’s ready to meet his forever family. We are willing to test Cooper with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Story
Meet Abbey LIverpool! She is currently 27 pounds, 4 months old, and we think she may be a Boxer/Pittie mix, but with rescue it’s always a guess! This puppy is from a part of the US where puppies are regularly euthanized. So, this puppy needs you! If you choose a puppy from this rescue, it saves their life AND it also allows us to save the life of another in its place. Watch Abbey's video here: It will just take one look into Sweet Abbey's soulful liquid eyes to see what a delicate charmer this girl is. Abbey's ears will tell you everything you need to know - when she's feeling shy, when she's interested in a treat, and when she's most in need of a cuddle and snuggle (which we live for, lol). Abbey loves soft stuffies and squeaky toys, but will forego all of that for belly rubs or lap time with you. (Don't tell her that she doesn't fit in your lap, because she doesn't endorse that kind of negativity, lol. If any part of her sits, she fits.) Abbey is currently in a loving foster home with her two sisters and loves to play and nap with her siblings. This gorgeous girl is quite mellow and laid-back and we admire her loving and gentle personality (and we know you will too). Abbey is still young so she will need a family that can commit to training, socialization and all the dedication puppyhood requires. Her new family will need to continue with potty and crate training and daily exercise. We require a commitment from adoptive families to crate train their new puppy. When old enough, they will be perfect to go on walks and hikes or show off around your neighborhood. You will be guaranteed to get lots of kisses in return from your new best friend! Application link: https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/676d739b43fd1cb89a026ac2 Please email Tim@threelittlepittiesrescue.org with any questions. Available for adoption in NV, MT, CO,UT, ID, OR, WA, Canada, and now the East Coast! Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Our East Coast route will travel in a private, air conditioned 3LP-run van transport. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you! The adoption fee is $900 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship! *WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health. *To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs. Why adopt from Three Little Pitties? The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it! Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks: • 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.) • A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week) • One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan • 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan • Coupons for a fun visit to Petco • Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! We celebrated our 6 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes. Follow our rescue journey through the links below! https://www.threelittlepittiesrescue.org/ https://www.facebook.com/threelittlepittiesrescue https://www.instagram.com/threelittlepittiesrescue *Due to the rising cost of fuel and transportation expenses, there will be an additional $74 surcharge for transport.
