Story
Thistle is a 1.5 year old female that we adopted about a year ago. She is a sweet girl but unfortunately is dog aggressive and we also have two young children in the home. She has never been aggressive with them but we feel there is a better home out there with someone who has more experience and time with a dog of her temperament.

Story
Stop your search! You have found Hoover. Want a dog who's face is as cute as it is squishy? Want a dog that will hang at the park with you yet also snore on your couch in the middle of a workday like it's his job? Can we see him chilling on a boat, snow mobile or riding shotgun on the way to anywhere? Absolutely. Hoover was found as a stray not long ago and he was never claimed so here we are. We do not know anything about his past so we are focusing on his future. We know he is a super fun boy, says a big no thanks to the feline types, and says come play with me to all human types. He may like another dog friend though with slow intros but they must meet his level of sheer coolness to hang with him longterm. No idea about children, we don't keep them at the shelter. Is he housetrained? Your guess is as good as ours, we found him outdoors, but any dog can learn the ropes. He is guesstimated at 2-3 years young and weighing in at a hot #55 lbs. If you want a Hoover in your life, be sure to fill out an app because this boy has 1 paw out the door.

Story
Rosie’s journey to FMAR began under difficult circumstances when her original owner tragically passed away in a car crash. A close friend of the family brought Rosie to us in hopes of finding her a new forever home. Since then, this sweet girl has shown just how lovable and resilient she truly is. Rosie is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a cuddly, affectionate dog who also loves to stay active. Whether you’re heading out for a walk, exploring new places, or just relaxing at home, Rosie is always eager to join in. She’s a little nervous in the car, but with patience, she’ll soon be comfortable on your travels together. This smart girl knows her basic commands, including Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and No, and she listens very well. She’s also completely crate-trained and potty trained, alerting you when it’s time for a bathroom break. Rosie can be a bit jumpy and excitable when meeting new people, so she’d do best in a home with older, calmer children who can help her settle down. She’s selective about her dog friends and prefers a peaceful playtime, but she’s not the biggest fan of cats due to her high prey drive. Rosie is an excellent watchdog, always alerting you when someone is near your door, but she’s quick to warm up to guests. After all, she just wants to make sure you know what’s happening! If you're looking for a sweet, active, and loving dog to join your family, Rosie could be the perfect fit. She's ready to share her love and loyalty with the right home—could that be yours? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rosie is currently in a Foster Home. If you would like to meet Rosie, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care she has have received. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates on their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. If interested in any of our animals for adoption, or to foster an animal, please fill out the respective application here to get the process started. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Do you have tennis balls, like a lot of them, if not will you buy some? If your answer is yes than you might be the home for me! See I am simple girl but I do require lots of tennis balls!! I like other toys but nothing gets me as excited as having tennis balls! My foster says I am just a happy gal, that is good with all people even kiddos! I am house broken, but I may have had a couple accidents but I am still recovering from taking care of my 5 babies for the last several weeks. They all have found their forever homes and now it’s my turn. I was a great mom but my foster promised I never ever have to do it again, which sounds perfect to me! I really love my foster home. See, I also get alone time and have my own room, I have adults and kids who play fetch with me a few times a day. They all helped me get better on the leash, to come when I was called, I am actually even starting to learn how to settle down and watch TV. I would probably like to stay here but they have some big dogs here, I just don’t like when they get in my way. My foster thinks I will much prefer to be the only dog in a home.  I think that is true at least to start. The cats here don’t bother me. Did I mention my NEED for tennis balls, oh I did, okay. Well that’s all for now. Let lastdaydogrescue.org know if you want to meet me by filling out an application. &#226&#128&#139Click here to watch a video of Pu Litter Eevee (Mom).Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the animals shoulder blades and are a permanent form of identification. The microchips are registered to Last Day Dog Rescue with the adopter's info added once adopted. If the animal is ever lost and slips his/her collar/tags the microchip allows the finder to know who to contact if scanned for a microchip. Animals MUST still have a collar with tags on at all times. Per our contract, we take all our animals back if for any reason you can't keep your adopted animal. Please understand the statements about this animal are based upon the foster home's evaluation of the animal. The animal might behave differently (negatively or positively) in your home. While the animal might be good with the current foster’s dogs, cats, children, etc., it may not be with your animal(s) or children. The animal may be housebroken or litter trained in the home of the foster but may relapse in your home. The animal is represented to the public as it performs in the foster home and any statements made regarding the animal are conditional to that foster home setting. Please understand that statements made regarding this animal are simply overviews and are not guaranteed. The Petfinder.com system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our animals. Visual breed identification in animals is unreliable so for most of the animals we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each animal as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our animals based on personality, not by breed label. Thank you for looking through our list of animals needing forever homes and choosing rescue first. We appreciate you stopping by. January 26, 2025, 6:18 pm

Story
Luna was rescued from a litter where the family cannot keep all of them. We rescued her and raised her since she was 2 months old. She is very obedient with training she listens, potty trained loves to cuddle play go on walks. Luna is spayed, up to date on shots and chipped. Luna would be better off in a family with no other dogs she likes to be dominant and keeps getting in fights with my older dog.
