Story
MAX is the dog of the HOUR!!!! There isn't a better dog available. Max's life began dreadfully. In his short life of 1.5 years old, Max found himself without a home, had to have an extensive surgery on his hip due to an unknown injury, and has lived for months in a kennel in boarding at a vet clinic. He is completely vetted, up to date on vaccines, neutered, and is heartworm negative! He weighs approximately 45 to 50 pounds. Recently, Max landed the best foster home ever and is showing off his awesome personality! If you have other pets, he will love them!!! He gets along with cats, dogs, birds and even tortoises. He is very playful and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. Max does like to be near his person and seems to have some separation anxiety. His favorite things are lying next to his person, playing with his Nylabone or squeaky toy, and romping and playing with a willing canine. He loves car rides and walks very well on a leash. He sits, shakes hands, and also knows other tricks. He is also very willing to learn more!! Max would excel in a home with another pet, and it would be awesome if he could be someone that works from home or could bring him to work. He has excellent house manners and does his business outside!

Story
Meet Enzo! ! 🐾 HANDS DOWN THE CUTEST DOG ON THIS PLANET!!!!! This adorable bundle of joy with a personality as unique as his looks! With ears that have a mind of their own and a tail that never stops wagging, Enzo is here to spread joy and steal hearts one paw at a time. Whether it's zoomies or snuggles, this little pup is always ready to bring a smile to your face. 🐾💫" Enzo is on the smaller side of this breed so could easily end up being a pocket size bully. 💖 Personality: All Puppy!!! Eat, sleep, play repeat. Enzo would do wonderful in a home where someone has the time and attention to teach him all the ways of the world. He gets along great with his foster mates and his foster mom’s big dogs keep him on his toes. He will do wonderful in a one dog home or with a doggie brother or sis to teach him the ropes. If you’re ready to give Enzo a lifetime of belly rubs, treats, and a cozy bed, please reach out! Let’s find this beautiful boy the forever home he deserves. 🐶💕 Once adopted he will travel via the Rescue Transport to his new family. They travel each and every weekend from Memphis, Tennessee to the north east, delivering pups along the way as far north as West Greenwich, Rhode Island. Transport is an additional $185. If you would like to make Enzo part of your family please follow the link below to our adoption application. Our turnaround time is typically less than 24 hours so please be prepared before you submit your application. https://forms.gle/APKvbgFJcaRvgKgk9

Story
Meet Yahtzee! A 2yr old sweet and social dog who is always ready to make new friends! This charming guy has an incredibly friendly nature and gets along wonderfully with both people and other dogs. He has been to many public events and always greets everyone with a wagging tail and a smile. Yahtzee is truly a social butterfly who loves spreading joy wherever he goes! Yahtzee has a beautiful white pelt with striking black spots on his nose that make him extra adorable. He also has light pink skin that turns a bright, cheerful pink when he’s excited – a cute feature that’s sure to make you smile every time you see him! When it’s a warm day, you’ll find Yahtzee enjoying a dip in the kiddy pool, cooling off while having the best time. He’s also a playful spirit, especially when it comes to spending time with his best friend, Ace. These two have a blast together, showcasing how Yahtzee thrives in the company of other dogs. Currently in a medical foster home, Yahtzee has been excelling in a home environment. He shares his foster home with another dog and has learned plenty of good manners, including potty training, and he’s currently perfecting commands like “off,” “wait,” and “stay.” Yahtzee has been great for baths and loves to snuggle up to his foster family when they are under the weather in hopes of making them feel better. He’s come a long way, and his foster home has nothing but great things to say about him! A special update from his foster home: “Yahtzee’s pins have been removed, and the surgeon says he’s expected to make a full recovery! His leg is healing nicely.” In addition to being an all-around great companion, Yahtzee has a bit of an environmentalist side – he loves picking up empty water bottles on his walks, promoting recycling along the way! Yahtzee would thrive in a moderately active home, with or without children, where he can enjoy daily walks and explore a yard. He would also make a fantastic addition to a family that already has another dog. If you’re looking for a happy, friendly, and well-behaved pup to add to your family, Yahtzee just might be the one for you! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Yahtzee, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. He is neutered, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. His adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care I have received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Rosie’s journey to FMAR began under difficult circumstances when her original owner tragically passed away in a car crash. A close friend of the family brought Rosie to us in hopes of finding her a new forever home. Since then, this sweet girl has shown just how lovable and resilient she truly is. Rosie is the perfect companion for anyone looking for a cuddly, affectionate dog who also loves to stay active. Whether you’re heading out for a walk, exploring new places, or just relaxing at home, Rosie is always eager to join in. She’s a little nervous in the car, but with patience, she’ll soon be comfortable on your travels together. This smart girl knows her basic commands, including Sit, Stay, Down, Come, and No, and she listens very well. She’s also completely crate-trained and potty trained, alerting you when it’s time for a bathroom break. Rosie can be a bit jumpy and excitable when meeting new people, so she’d do best in a home with older, calmer children who can help her settle down. She’s selective about her dog friends and prefers a peaceful playtime, but she’s not the biggest fan of cats due to her high prey drive. Rosie is an excellent watchdog, always alerting you when someone is near your door, but she’s quick to warm up to guests. After all, she just wants to make sure you know what’s happening! If you're looking for a sweet, active, and loving dog to join your family, Rosie could be the perfect fit. She's ready to share her love and loyalty with the right home—could that be yours? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Rosie is currently in a Foster Home. If you would like to meet Rosie, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which helps cover the cost of the medical care she has have received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different.
