Story
This 4-year-old Bully mix is full of love and personality! Weighing 52 pounds, Pebbles is a snuggly "pittypotamus" who adores her people, earning her title as a champion cuddler and napper.Pebbles’ past life as a breeding dog has shaped her need for patience and understanding. While she was initially cautious of her new foster home, once she settled, she really knew how to make herself comfortable. She is fully house-trained and crate-trained, happily settling into her crate with the help of a treat. Her favorite activities include sleeping, chewing on toys, and, of course, cuddling. She’s a snoring aficionado with a quirky ability to "sing" with her humans. Her ideal home is one that respects her boundaries, values her quirks, and provides her with the love and security she deserves.Despite her love for walks, Pebbles takes a leisurely approach to exercise and enjoys short strolls at her own pace. While she’s generally calm overall, Pebbles has some leash reactivity when encountering dogs outside the home and benefits from careful introductions. Pebbles is still learning to trust new friends, so careful introductions have been key. She has been socialized with resident dogs and has shown promise, though she cannot live with cats. Pebbles thrives with dog-savvy humans and older kids, as she does resource guard high-value treats and chews. Her foster reports she’s been great with their 8-year-old child, but caution and supervision are necessary in homes with younger kids. She’s currently undergoing muzzle training for vet visits and grooming to ensure everyone’s safety. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who’s equal parts lazy and loving, Pebbles is ready to make your home her own.If you are interested in this dog, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - https://pethavenmn.org/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/The adoption fee is $450. She is young and busy, but she is quick to offer you her belly for rubs. She does best with dogs similar to her size. She prefers to be in an adult only home. Malibu spent several months living in a shelter and it has taken some  time to acclimate back to living in a home. Malibu loves to go on walks and does great with loose leash walking with someone that will give gentle reminders. She loves being outside and playing chase with her foster brother. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. Story
Hi there, I’m Boomer Jr., but my foster mom calls me Boom! I’m a 6-month-old mix and a total lovebug. I made my way to Minnesota all the way from North Carolina after a hurricane so the shelter there could help more pups in need. Now, I’m ready to find my forever home!   I’m the goodest boy—fully potty trained, kennel trained, and eager to learn. I’ve already mastered "sit," "lay down," and "get down," and I’m super food-motivated, so teaching me new tricks will be a breeze. I love making doggie friends, especially bigger ones, because sometimes I forget my size and play a little too hard with the tiny pups.   I’ve been polite around cats and can happily share a home with them. I’m also great in the car—I’ll just curl up and relax while you drive. I do get a bit nervous around new people and might bark or growl at first, but give me a treat or two, and I’ll be your best friend in no time. Because of this, I’d do best in a quieter home without kids, as loud noises make me anxious.   I’m a playful guy with lots of energy, so a fenced yard would be perfect for me to zoom around in. I love my toys and have a funny habit of pulling all of them out of my toy bin and bringing them to my spot on the couch—my foster mom says it’s the cutest thing ever!   If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and fun companion, I’m your pup. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Meet Avery!  Avery traveled with her siblings from North Carolina after the hurricane. She was born in late August and we believe she is a  Mountain Cur/Boxer mix. Avery is full of puppy energy and loves to give puppy kisses. Avery loves her food but isn't possessive. She is learning to go outside to do her business and is using the doggy door. Going in her kennel can be hard but will settle down after a little bit of whining. She is sleeping almost through the night as well.  She is starting to explore more and gaining her confidence.  Avery got along with other dogs at her first foster home. Currently, there are cats but they don't like puppies. Avery checks them out and is learning to give them space. Avery loves kids and is trying to figure out that they are not puppies. She loves toys and is constantly finding things to play with. She loves interactive/brain toys.  If you're an active person who enjoys exploring, Avery would be the perfect companion to join you on your journeys. This sweet girl is ready to find her forever home!     Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
