Story
Peaches is a happy girl ALL OF THE TIME! She is very playful and loving. She wants to be loved on all of the time. She is the most loving dog I personally have ever met. She will steal a sock regardless if its on your foot! She is a hoot!! She needs a little manners training but I don't think it will take long to train her. (no professional trainer needed) The reason for the Rehome is because she is my dads pet and she is just too much for him due to his health. She's so playful and it overwhelms him. He is sad to let her go because of her love but its a need sadly. She is a good guard dog to those she doesn't know. Once she gets her owners approval she will love them immediately, especially if they rub her belly. She is precious. My dad saved her from the pound and brought her back to life.

Story
Foster notes, 12/4/23:Pie is an extremely affectionate dog that has lived most of his life in the shelter. He would benefit from some training as he can be hyper but this is at no fault of his own. Having another playmate helps with his energy. Because Pie hasn’t had a lot of interactions with other dogs and been able to be a pup himself, all he wants to do is play while the other dogs are wanting to rest. With positive redirection Pie will calm down and take a rest himself. Pie gets really excited and will try to grab blankets, toys, whatever may be around so I would recommend lots of variety of toys for him. He absolutely loves playing fetch and could play this for hours if you allowed it. Pie is such an amazing dog that has been looked over time and time again. All he wants is love, affection and attention. He will make an amazing partner in any adventure his family goes on. He loves to ride in cars and when we take him out, he goes to the car wanting to get in- it’s the absolute cutest thing. Pie loves to get belly rubs and will reward you with all of the kisses in the world. He is such a good boy that is so deserving of a forever home. Pie is house and crate trained, and lets you know when he needs to go potty. He is walked on a leash to go outside and is starting to do much better on leash. There are times when Pie will take charge and wants to walk himself by taking the leash in his mouth and starts walking in the direction he would like to go. I crate Pie when I leave the house and he’s done absolutely amazing. Pie knows sit and that is about it. We are working on other commands. I would recommend not playing tug of war with him and just tell him to “drop” the toy and he will so you can then throw it for him to go and fetch. This is a positive way to play with Pie that does not get him too overstimulated and excited. Pie does amazing with my 2 year old and my other dogs. I would recommend that Pie go to a home with at least one other dog so he can have someone to play with as playing as become his absolute favorite thing to do. I also have cats in the house and Pie is not bothered at all with them and does not engage with them at all, he is just uninterested in cats. Like every dog, Pie just needs a family willing to show him patience and love and who will work with him. Sound like you? You can either schedule a visit at www.burlingtonnc.gov/visitBAS or stop by our facility during regular business hours!Dog Day Out notes, 9/2/2

Story
Copper is an 11-year-old gentleman with a heart of gold. Despite his years, he`s full of life and has a peppy trot that will bring a smile to your face. The volunteers describe him as remarkably gentle, accommodating, and polite—everything you`d expect from a dog with his life experience.Copper is a true cuddle bug. One volunteer mentioned how he allowed himself to be hugged like a big teddy bear, soaking in all the affection. He’s house-trained, based on his polite behavior in the play yard, and walks wonderfully on a leash with little to no pulling. This friendly boy loves meeting new people, and his sweet, affectionate nature makes him the perfect companion for someone looking for a loving and calm dog. He`s also treat-motivated, making training a breeze.Copper enjoys rolling in the grass after a good walk and is always up for some belly rubs and ear scratches. If you`re looking for a loyal and loving companion to share your days with, Copper is ready to bring joy and warmth into your home.Copper:- Enjoys meeting new people- Is cuddly and affectionate- Walks well on leash (low or no pulling)- Treat Motivated
