Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hey there potential human! I'm Tase, the boss pup you've been waiting for. I'm a 50-pound Bull Terrier mix, smart, athletic, and let's face it, pretty amazing. Let's get down to business:   House-trained? Check. Crate-trained? Check. But let's not overdo it - I prefer being out and about when you're home. I'm an active guy with impressive jumping skills, so a secure yard is a must.    Now I do get along with other dogs, but here's the thing: I would like a home where I can be the star of the show. Training and attention? Give me all of it! I'm about 2 years old, super smart, and catch on quickly but I love and need the mental stimulation that training can give me. I love training and already know a lot of obedience and a few tricks. It's easy! Just grab a treat and you've got my attention.    I'm looking for an owner who can match my energy and smarts. Training, mental stimulation, and clear boundaries are what I thrive on. But it's not all action all the time; I'm a pro at chill time too. Need a dog who will lean against you and sit on your feet? I can do that!   So, if you're ready for an adventurous, cuddly, and somewhat bossy best friend, I'm your guy. Let's meet and conquer life together! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hey there, human friends! My name's Sweet Pete, and I'm a 2.5-year-old male bull terrier with a big personality and an even bigger heart. I tip the scales at a solid 40 pounds, and I'm on a journey to find my forever home. Life's thrown me some curveballs and I've learned a lot in my short life, including making great progress on my crate training and house training. I'm a quick learner, especially when treats are involved! I absolutely adore playing with other dogs—it's one of my favorite things! There's nothing better than a good romp with a canine buddy. However, I get super excited when meeting new friends, both the two-legged and four-legged kind. My enthusiasm knows no bounds! Because of my bouncy nature, I'd do best in a home with kids over 8 years old, who can join in on the fun without getting knocked over by my exuberant greetings. What I want more than anything in the world is a family of my own—a group of special humans who will love me for who I am, enthusiasm, and all. I'm looking for patient owners who will continue to help me learn new skills, understand my excitement and meeting new friends, and guide me with a gentle hand. In return, I promise to be your loyal companion, always ready with a wagging tail and a wet nose to brighten your day. So, if you're looking for a lovable and affectionate, spirited pup who's eager to learn, play, and love, look no further than me, Sweet Pete. I can't wait to meet you and start our life of adventure together. Could you be the forever family I've been dreaming of? Let's make those dreams a reality! Fill out an application at: https://bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplicationVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 20, 2024, 9:45 am

Story
OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Bella likes to have a good time! She’s a lively girl that would like someone to play with toys with her. She’s a strong girl that needs some fine tuning on her leash manners. She knows the sit and shake commands and appears house trained. Although she may chase a cat unless trained not to, she has done pretty well in our dog playgroups at the shelter. She would enjoy a home with an active person or family with respectful children. Medical Note: Bella came in with a case or ringworm on her right thigh. She has been treated with medication for 30 days and it is now no longer contagious. Weighs 67 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Story
REPORTED BY FORMER OWNER:Peggy is an indoor/outdoor dog that is used to being left alone for up to 8 hours per day. She is house trained, walks fairly well on the leash and knows the sit, stay and down commands. She’s friendly toward most people; she may not appreciate any small children running up on her. She has not lived with any children; older, dog-savvy children may be okay. Peggy previously lived with a puppy and they got along well. She’s a very sweet and affectionate dog; she will protect you once she sees you as her owner. OBSERVED BY SHELTER STAFF: Peggy is a sweetheart! She will seek out people for attention and loves all that you’ll give! She previously lived with a smaller dog and they got along well. She really likes to be around people and will follow you around if you let her. She is mellow for her age. She could most likely live with another dog again; a meet and greet is recommended. Weighs 46 pounds; $25 to adopt.

Story
Meet Bella, the charming and spirited pup who's sure to steal your heart! With her love for playtime, especially with well-balanced rescue dogs, Bella would happily spend all day frolicking in the yard. This smart girl isn't shy about expressing herself, and while it took her a bit to warm up to us, we know she'll do the same with her new family. Once Bella recognizes you as a friend, she'll shower you with affection like no other. Crate time is a breeze for Bella, though doggy beds don't stand a chance with her playful nature—they quickly become toys to shred! Highly motivated by treats, Bella responds well to training and is quite adept on a leash, although she can get easily distracted. A gentle leader might be the perfect tool to help her focus. Bella prefers the comfort of her own home and will need some encouragement to fully appreciate the joys of a walk. She tends to get anxious around other dogs during these outings, often voicing her excitement a bit too loudly. Remember, no rescue animal is perfect, but Bella's incredible qualities far outweigh her quirks. She's eager and ready to find her forever home with a family who understands and loves her just the way she is. Why should you adopt from a Texas Rescue? Because you will be giving one of our many dogs and cats in need a chance for a better future from a city that has an animal crisis.  We are heartbroken each day with the many incredible and loving animals found wandering our streets.  So many have been dumped and cannot find their way home.  Many never even had a home and were born on the streets.  WE gave them a chance.  Every animal deserves a chance. We know if adopted by you they will be loved and cared for. We believe in our local and out of state applicants.  There is a reason we drive to the Pacific Northwest & East Coast every 2 weeks.  You are worth the drive. We have AMAZING adopters, and we need more like them.  No matter if you live here in Houston, the Pacific Northwest, the East Coast or Canada we welcome you!  Thank you for considering adopting and not shopping.  If we are in Houston, then how can you see our posts?   Spring Branch Rescue has fosters all over the Pacific Northwest allowing us to post in specific cities. Yes, our rescue is in Houston.  Our available animals live with foster families.  This is a win for you as the transition from our home to yours will be a much easier one.  We do have foster homes in your area.  This is why you can see our posts.  Unfortunately Meet & Greets has been cancelled due to Covid Restrictions.  Almost all our animal travel has been adopted.  We have been doing this since 2019 and have been very successful.  Please look at our adopter’s reviews https://greatnonprofits.org/org/spring-branch-rescue ##2149754##
