My husband found the dog in a parking lot. According to witnesses, he was dumped out of a vehicle. We've been calling him Winston, but I have no idea what his name is. We think he's some kind of bully, but not 100% sure. So far, he's been great with my children (2, 4, 13) and leaves my cat alone. He's potty trained and enjoys his kennel. We've come to the conclusion that he was taken care of, but for some reason abandoned. He isn't fixed, so there are some issues with him getting a little too excited, but he responds well to being corrected. He has to be in a home with NO other dogs and someone who is an experienced owner. While I would love to keep him, it's not the time for us. I have tried to find a rescue that will take him, but he is aggressive with other dogs and I've been refused. He has not been for a full exam with us - it's not affordable at this point. He looks to have damage to the left eye, but can still see out of it. He needs more medical attention than I can provide.

Meet Glen, a remarkable 6 year and 9 month old, mixed breed weighing 27 pounds, with a heart as big as Texas. Glen's journey brought him to Camo Rescue's Houston facility in 2021, where he has been a beloved resident ever since. Glen is a dog full of love and energy, always ready for an adventure outdoors. His favorite activities include running around outdoors, splashing in water, and exploring every nook and cranny of his surroundings. He's potty trained and does good with leash walking. While Glen is a loving dog once he warms up to you. He comes with some challenges that require experienced handling. Glen is very kennel aggressive and doesn't appreciate correction. He struggles most during meal times as he resource guards his food. Glen's forever family would need to be understanding and capable of ensuring meal times are as safe and comfortable as possible for everyone involved. Despite these behaviors, Glen is deeply affectionate and fiercely loyal to those he trusts. For Glen to thrive, he would do best in an adult-only home where he can be the only dog, ensuring he receives the focused attention and structured environment he needs. His forever family must provide a secure and loving atmosphere, along with careful management of his behaviors. Are you looking for a bold, scruffy little "Toto dog to add to your family? She is one sweet little girl who is cat friendly and gets on well with dogs around her size or smaller. Scruffy little Harriet will warm your heart with her personality which she has in spades. She will try to communicate with you by talking (not barking). If that does not work and she really needs your attention such as to go out to do her business, she will stare at you and then go to the door. She is one sweet little girl who gets on well with dogs around her size or smaller in the home but will bark at dogs outside. This little girl seems to like every woman she meets but is hesitant around men. After receiving a gentle pat on the head, she will walk away talking as though saying goodbye. She loves to retrieve one of her favorite toys for about 5 minutes. Then it is snuggle time or time to curl up on a blanket especially if it is raining. The shelter from which she was rescued thinks she is a cairn terrier. Her estimated age is 10 to 12 years old. She weighs less than 15 pounds. Harriet has been spayed, is up to date on her vaccinations and microchipped. Harriet is heartworm positive but has received a ProHeart-12 injection for treatment of this. Harriet does have some orthopedic issues, but she is not in pain and they do not slow her down. She will never run marathons but short, slow walks will help build muscle and improve her gait. She does have a heart murmur with minor valvular involvement but x-rays and an echocardiogram indicate she does not need medication at this time for any of her problems. Her vet reports that she is an excellent patient. Adding this little girl to your family will brighten your day.
