Meet Jigsaw and Kakuro! Jigsaw is a 13-month-old female cat who is initially shy but warms up with time. She has been through a lot and is looking for a loving home. Kakuro, her 12-week-old male kitten, is playful and friendly. These two are not used to dogs, but older children should be fine. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. All of our cats and kittens receive an exam, are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, de-wormed, de-flead, tested for FeLV and FIV, and microchipped. Patches Mom is a stunning, mostly white calico girl, about 1 to 1.5 years old, ready to find her forever home. She’s been an incredible mom, and now it's her turn to be pampered and adored. Patches is as sweet as they come; she might observe from afar at first, but it doesn’t take her long to get comfortable and come in for a sniff and a pat. Once she does, her loud and frequent purrs will let you know she’s happy. Patches would probably thrive best as an only cat, as she gets a bit upset when other foster kitties come near her door. Hi my name is Emely This is my precious girl Emelyiah. I truly don’t want to even make the decision to rehome my cat; if I could take her I would. I recently accepted a job which, as a result, I now have to relocate. The apartment in the area do not accept cats and I’m left with the decision to find a new home for her. Emelyiah is the sweetest little cat. I got her from Salem Cat Adoption Center and she’s been with me for the past 2 years. She lovessssss tuna and chicken preferably the Tiki Cat brand. I hope to find a home that truly wants to have a cat. Please understand being a cat owner isn’t a light responsibility. Bottled water she doesn’t drink tap and it has to be through a fountain. When you do get her I will make sure to give you all of her cat items! She loves treats and head rubs; be aware of the ears they will let you know how she’s feeling lol Hope to talk to you soon :)

Poppy was found as a stray in the Lowe's garden center. We guessed that someone had dumped her in the night. One of the workers took her home to take care of her and got her spayed, vaccinated and tested. She is FIV/FeLV negative and microchipped as well. Still a little shy but sweet as sugar. She is estimated to be 16 months PLEASE NOTE THAT WE ARE LOCATED IN TENNESSEE AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MEET OUR PETS PRIOR TO ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE $150

Recently my Aunt became ill and is unable to care for her 2 beautiful cats named Cinnamon and Ginger. They're sisters and will need to be housed together since its likely stressful for them to be separated and in different homes. They're sweet and loving, friendly cats and are spayed, chipped and currently up to date on their shots.

I'm a spunky girl with endless personality! I tend to be the alpha when I'm in a group of other cats and I'm not afraid to boss them around. Don't be fooled, I really do like the company! I'm affectionate with people and, as you can see, I'm not afraid of playing a little dress-up. I'm not a big fan of dogs, though. I'd love a home with a nice, big window to sleep in during the day and a warm lap to cuddle up with at night.

I'm a little girl with a big personality! I love to be silly and play and usually end up tricking the staff into some play time when they're cleaning me. I'll greet newcomers by reaching out of my cage and giving a little hello tap in hopes that you'll stop and talk to me. I love attention, though I'll let you know as soon as I'm over it. I'm a special lady who has to be the only baby in the house - no cats, no dogs, and no kids! I can play a little rough sometimes, so I'm not well suited for kiddos. Cats and dogs I just don't like, there's only room for Toadette! I'd do well in a home just about any home that meets those requirements, as long as you play with me for a little bit each day I'll have a wonderful transition from shelter to house.

Hello, I'm Esme! Don't be fooled by my age, I'm not even close to starting to slow down. I'm a friendly, outgoing girl eager to make new friends. I enjoy telling stories and chatting away to whoever is willing to listen. Pets are my favorite thing, though, so don't be afraid to shower me in affection! I'm not a huge fan of being picked up, but all other forms of love are accepted. I'd fit in just about any home, I don't mind other cats or kids. Dogs I'm not a huge fan, so ideally I'd be without their company!
