Hi, I'm Houston and my foster mom says I'm PERFECT! Everyone who sees me says I have the most gorgeous grey/silver fur. What else do you need to know? I'm a happy boy and just want to make my people happy. I'm working on my basics and have already mastered "sit"! I'm a little nervous about new things or situations - but once we bond and I trust you, I will give it my best try with a little encouragement. I'm curious about cats but they're a little scary - I'm just a baby! Oh yeah, I LOVE kiddo's and am learning how to be gentle with them. My foster mom says I'm a natural with them. Please understand that while I am doing well on potty and crate training, I will have accidents and whine some as I adjust to my new schedule and family. ADOPTION FEE: $350 (All MVPC dogs are heartworm-tested and on prevention, completely vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, crate-trained and house-trained) I AM READY TO GO HOME!! If you are approved to be my new family, a hold fee of $100 is required and will be applied to the full adoption fee of $350 when MVPC comes to visit your house with me! ADOPTER: Dog experience BIRTHDAY: 3/15/24 FENCE: Required (an electric fence is not an acceptable form of containment) DOG FRIENDLY: Yes DOGS IN HOME: Yes CATS: Yes, cats are scary so proper supervision/introductions are needed CHILDREN: Yes, 8 and over INQUIRIES: ALL inquiries begin with a submitted adoption application, which is found on our website, www.miamivalleypitcrew.com. We do not adopt to individuals under the age of 25. DO NOT: USE THE PETFINDER INQUIRY/CONTACT/ADOPT BUTTONS--we are unable to monitor those and you will not receive a response. PLEASE NOTE: We are volunteer based and a home visit is required; we have a two-hour adoption radius from Kettering, OH for our adult dogs and 75 miles for our puppies. Exceptions for our ADULT dogs only, though rare, may be made on a case-by-case basis but we must be able to do a home visit. Thank you for your understanding!

Apollo is a majestic one-year old male Cane Corso Mastiff mix who was surrendered by his owner to the Washington County Ohio Dog Warden on June 20, 2024 following an unfortunate bite incident with a family member. Apollo was placed on a mandatory 10-day quarantine when he entered our shelter. Apollo has a sleek black short smooth coat, a long tail, and a handsome face with dark brown eyes, a large muzzle, and large semi-erect ears. His owner reported that Apollo was good with OLDER children and that he was good with other animals. Apollo is up-to-date on vaccinations and that he is housetrained. These pictures of Apollo were taken on July 7, 2024 when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver had Apollo outdoors for a long walk around the HSOV grounds and graciously took a detour through our photo area for several pictures. It seemed at first that Apollo was a little leery of the paparazzi but it turned out that he had spotted one of our outdoor shelter mascot kitties nearby .. And he was WAY too interested in the kitty. We'd say that Apollo should not be in a home where he would have any potential contact with cats. Apollo currently weighs 106 lbs and is extremely strong on a leash. He would need an experienced handler and someone with athletic abilities to match those of Apollo in order to give him the exercise/training he requires. Apollo will be neutered before being adopted by his new family.

Hey, I’m Gordy. I can be a bit of a worry wart but I feel a bit better with company. I just like to come around at my pace is all that it is. I still have plenty of pep in my step when it comes to seeing other dogs. The staff here let me another dog and they said I did great at listening! I can be very sweet and overall a good boy. Maybe you can stop by for a visit and see if we can be a great match!
