Story
I adopted Xylo from a lady who was going through a very difficult life situation and she needed to rehome him asap. She told me he was really good with her young kids. I am having to rehome him due to him and my other cat fighting consistently. He is good with dogs (small and big), but absolutely hates other cats. He will need to go to a home WITHOUT other cats. He is a very loving boy who will require a lot of attention and play time. He is a very curious being and will often get into a lot of messy trouble. He enjoys being outside while on a harness but will not walk very far. Xylo, true to his breed, is very vocal and will consistently talk to you about anything and everything. He is very opinionated and will share his dislikes through screams. I will only be adopting to those with a lot of cat experience due to his breed. I want him to find the best home possible where he can thrive. The adoption fee is to ensure he goes to a good home.

Story
I adopted Lucy almost 3 months ago from the Champaign County Humane Society as a stray. The intention was for her to be a companion for my roommate's cat who is lonely, and the humane society mentioned they were unsure how she was with other animals. She does not like the other cat at all and they don't get along very well. I have to keep her shut up in my room most of the time because we can't trust the cats alone together, and I feel so bad having to confine her because she's so sweet and likes to roam the living room. I truly believe Lucy is meant to be the only pet in her home and she would absolutely thrive. Being around the other cat makes her a lot more nervous and timid, but when he's not around, she can be super sweet/cuddly but still very shy sometimes which is understandable as it still hasn't even been 3 full months. I will provide anything you may need such as paperwork, litter & box, food, bowls, scratchers, bed, crate, and toys. Please let me know if you are interested!

Story
Cleopatra is a 2-year-old female DSH available for adoption at CCHS! Cleopatra was relinquished because she lived in a home with other cats and she didn't get along well with them, which is why she would do best as the only pet in the home. This cuddly girl loves attention and is a true lapcat! She can be a bit shy at first and is very sweet. She sleeps with a stuffed carrot. Come meet Cleopatra at CCHS!

Story
Leia is a one-year-old female DSH available for adoption at CCHS! Leia was relinquished due to exhibiting aggressive behaviors in her former home. However, after being given time and space, Leia has really blossomed in our shelter and is now friendly with staff and other cats. She would rub against her cage door, roll around in her cage, she enjoys belly rubs, rubs people with her cheeks, and slow blinks. She is not so fond of vet exams, but who would be? She can become overstimulated, which is why she cannot go to a home with children under the age of 10. She was also stressed by the dog in her former home, which is why she cannot go to a home with dogs. If you approach Leia, she will roll on her back for you and enjoy head scratches. Come meet this lover at CCHS! Leia is a STAFF FAVORITE pet! Here's what adoption staff member, Rita has to say about her: Leia has come a long way since entering our facility in January - she is living proof that a feisty, potential barn cat candidate can completely change how she feels about humans. She had been a spicy girl when she first arrived and was being considered for our working cat program, as staff were concerned that she would not be a candidate for adoption. However, a few weeks after her arrival, she began rubbing staff for pets, exposing her belly, headbutting, and otherwise soliciting attention. Whenever I enter her communal room, she hops down from her hidey box and immediately begins rubbing against my legs and rolling over on her back. She's such a sweetheart and I think she'd make a great companion for someone looking for a tiny black cat!
