Sometimes our volunteers just seem to be in the right place at the right time. Such was the case with precious Reba! When we were invited back to a completed TNR project, we spotted this multi-colored beauty only she wasnt so beautiful back then. She was very thin and covered in her own drool, recalls her foster mom. When Rebas caretaker, a veteran with disabilities, gave his blessing for Whiskers to take her, our veterinarian pinpointed stomatitis as her health issue, which meant she needed to have all her teeth removed. It was a big surgery and recovery, but this pretty laidback cat has taken it in stride and is finally ready for a home of her very own. Rebas favorite hobby is sleeping adorably in a sunny spot and being her humans center of attention, so her foster dad thinks she would prefer to be someones only feline friend. Spitz was born at Whiskers to a mama cat taken in from a large outdoor colony that we assisted to completely spay or neuter, and he isnt wasting a moment of this chance at a better life. He is always in constant state of play. He and his two brothers are quite the handful with their rowdiness! In fact, this little champ would do great anywhere for a forever home. Today, Phelps claims a spot on the Whiskers leader board for that handsome buff coat of his as well as his playful antics especially if he can give his littermates a good-natured smackdown. Estee may look the part of a mysterious black kitten, but deep down shes a sucker for being petted and kitty wrestlemania! She loves to wrestle with her sister, Sephora, says her fosterdad. They get very rowdy overnight and everything is upset in the morning. Originally from a large outdoor colony being TNRed, Estee makes the funniest meows when people are giving her attention, as though she cant decide if she is upset about being pet or loving it! We think she would thrive in a quieter home so that she can continue to gain confidence and fully give in to the loving it side. Estee is still very shy but has a sweet side hiding just beneath the surface. She likes to sound tough when you reach in to pet her, but once she gives in, her purr motor is SO loud.
