Story
Declawed, gorgeous, very healthy, just turned 7, diluted calico cat who is extremely loving to her human. She is a true scaredy cat when it comes to strangers, she will hide. Bailey requires a home without other pets and to whom her special person is regularly home to give her attention. Bailey is an indoor cat only as her front paws were declawed long before I adopted her last year. Bailey, herself enjoys being brushed, scratched, held. She enjoys watching the birds/squirrels from her cat tree, she is very playful, but enjoys her sleep as well. Bailey is almost a special needs cat as she does not do well with other people or pets, otherwise she is very healthy. On her last visit to her vet April 12, 2024 I was told that she is still 9 lbs. and has extremely healthy teeth. I do NOT have Bailey professionally groomed as I should, she looks bigger than she is due to her beautiful long fur which she keeps very clean. Have kitten photos, still in contact with Bailey’s first human.

Story
Channi is a sweet and vocal girl who has been with us too long. Channi is accepting of pets, loves to nap in cat beds, and is a low-maintenance girly. This beauty may do best as an only cat as she prefers to do things on her own. She ignores the other cats at the shelter unless they try to get into her business. Channi lets us know what she doesn't like by letting out the funniest little grumbles. This girl is looking for a home with someone who understands that she doesn't need constant attention to feel loved. Kittens or cats CANNOT be declawed, unless deemed medically necessary.   We will gladly provide you with alternatives to this procedure.  Kittens do better with another kitten to play with.  This gives you a break and give them company when you’re not home. The adoption fee is $125 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. They will determine if you and/or your family are a fit and if so, provide instructions for completing the application.    After you have submitted an application and been approved, we will setup a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. Applications are reviewed in order of receipt.  Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission. ##1835196##

Story
Katniss came to us from a full home, she has lived with dogs, other cats, and kids! She is not fond of the shelter life, but she was very friendly and happy before arriving into our care. She is starting to warm up to volunteers and staff and letting her true colors shine through. She was introduced to a harness for walks and seemed to think this is a good idea. She may grumble at you to get off her lawn, but she is happy to have you visit. The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.    Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws.   **We are currently operating by appointment only. Story
Tiger came to us when his owner passed away unexpectedly. As one can imagine, losing your person like that is upsetting, to put it mildly.  This three year old boy was in mourning when he arrived and we are working with him to trust again. This petite 9 pound handsome boy has the largest eyes! He is starting to accept petting and interaction with humans. You can usually find him at the highest accessable space keeping an eye on things. Nothing happens in the shelter he doesn't know about! Janice is a gentle senior girl. She is about 12 years old and came to us when her owner passed away. She is adjusting to shelter life but enjoys attention. She is the perfect lap cuddle cat with a strong purr motor. She loves making biscuits in her blankets when content. Janice had have an unfortunate grooming due to being matted all the way down to the skin and is patiently waiting for her fur to grow back. She will soon be a gorgeous tuxedo lady once again.   The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Story
ADOPT LEO! Leo is 10-year-old tabby with gorgeous marble swirl patterns! Handsome Leo is cuddly, plump, and wants to be the center of your attention. Leo is very vocal, singing the sounds of his people until you give in to his demands - treats and cuddles! Leo takes a slower introduction to other cats but has settled down with the ones he’s met at the shelter. Leo is a large boy but likes to play and join activities. Leo was front declawed by a previous owner. The more weight he continues to lose the more active he becomes. This playful guy is acting younger and younger. Leo has been in foster care to help him lose some of his weight. So far he is 3 pounds down! His new home would continue to regulate his intake and encourage playful activity. If you’d like more info on this handsome boy, email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ The adoption fee is $125 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other cats in your home, they must all be up to date and spayed/neutered prior to application submission.  All members of the family must meet the pet.   Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out.  But we will coach you on alternative methods of managing cats with claws *****We are currently operating by appointment only.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.
