Story
Tennessee found me when she was about a year old. She was lost and very skinny so I took her home thinking I would find her owner in my apartment building or one of them near me. I posted flyers and contacted the buildings around me and no one claimed her. I’ve had her for almost 7 lovely years, but I had to move back home with my parents and my mom is developing allergies to her. I am hoping to find someone to love her, just as much as she will love them. She’s always been great with her litter box and is pretty low maintenance. She loves snuggling on a shoulder and is very kind. She has experience living with dogs. She figures out how to live with them, mostly by avoiding them, but she would be better in a dog free home.

Story
Styx is a terrified 5-year-old cat. She and her sister Persephone originally came from a closed animal shelter in Kansas and were adopted together 4 years ago. Both girls were returned to us when their human moved in with a family full of allergies. After a few years in her previous home, she refused all human contact. She came to us matted and angry. After a full haircut, she looks much better but is still very angry and scared. The shelter is not a good placement for her, but we are doing our best. She and her sister will need the most patience of any cat we have seen in quite some time. When distracted by food, she is beginning to accept pets! The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.  Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. If you are interested in any of our animals please fill out an application on our website www.townandcountryanimalrescue.org After you have submitted an application and been approved, a Cat Team member will reach out to set up a “meet and greet” between you and the pet. The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team members or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit.** Please be sure to follow us on Facebook to learn more about Town and Country Animal Rescue and our mission ##658140##

Persephone is a beautiful cream-colored cat with one green eye and one blue eye. She is absolutely terrified of the shelter environment. She and her sister Styx originally came from a closed animal shelter in Kansas and were adopted together 4 years ago. Both girls were returned to us when their human moved in with a family full of allergies. After a few years in her previous home, she refused all human contact. She came to us seriously matted and angry. After a full haircut, she looks much better but is still terrified and scared. The shelter is not a good placement for her, but we are doing our best. She and her sister will need the most patience of any cat we have seen in quite some time.  The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Story
ADOPT LEO! Leo is an 11-year-old tabby with gorgeous marble swirl patterns! Handsome Leo is cuddly, plump, and wants to be the center of your attention. Leo is very vocal, singing the sounds of his people until you give in to his demands - treats and cuddles! Leo takes a slower introduction to other cats but has settled down with the ones he’s met at the shelter. Leo is a large boy but likes to play and join activities. Leo was front declawed by a previous owner and this has started to cause him pain that we will be addressing. The more weight he continues to lose the more active he becomes. This playful guy is acting younger and younger. Leo had been in foster care to help him lose some of his weight. So far he is 3 pounds down! His new home would continue to regulate his intake and encourage playful activity. If you’d like more info on this handsome boy, email us at tchsPapillion@gmail.com or visit https://townandcountryhumanesociety.org/adopt/ The adoption fee is $125 and covers age appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. Applications are typically worked in time stamp order based on date/time of submission.  If you have other cats in your home, they must all be up to date and spayed/neutered prior to application submission.  All members of the family must meet the pet.   Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out.  But we will coach you on alternative methods of managing cats with claws *****We are currently operating by appointment only.   If you want to meet this pet, or are interested in adopting, please submit an inquiry or email to tchspapillion@gmail.com. Someone from the rescue will contact you and/or your family and determine, on a broad level, whether you might be a fit for the animal.  If so, they will provide instructions for completing the application. Your application will be reviewed and you will be contacted to set up a time to meet at the shelter or the foster home.   The introduction between you and the pet will be supervised by one of the cat team or the foster. If all goes well, you can adopt during the same visit. Story
Miss Kitty is an 8-year-old beauty who came to us when her human had a change in living status. We are working on building her trust, but she is not receptive to most advances.  She has taken up residence in our kitchen and is usually found on top of the fridge or in a cabinet. This silly girl is looking for a patient home that is willing to work with her at her pace. The shelter isn't a good fit for her. Her person said she was slow to warm up, but after 6 months in the shelter she is still giving the cold shoulder. Her box of choice is very accurate. Brat instead of Brats! The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures.    Please note, we do NOT allow declawing of any cat or kitten that we adopt out, unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. **We are currently operating by appointment only.
