Story
Greta is such a sweet girl! She is a short-haired silver tabby. She was born around April 6th. Greta presented with rear leg paralysis, but after treatment and so much loving care, she is walking great now! She is extremely affectionate and active, but she is also happy to sit in your lap and purr the day away. Kittens under 6 months need to be adopted in pairs and must be adopted locally, as they are not completely vetted yet. All of our kittens and cats are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, de-flead, tested for FeLV/FIV (negative results unless indicated) and have received their rabies vaccine prior to going into their forever homes. Our adoption fee of $150 ($250 for two) only recovers some of the expenses spent on each kitten/cat. If they were ill/injured when coming into our care they received full recommended medical care. Thank you for your interest in adopting with NC PAWS rescue. The link to our application is https://form.jotform.com/210965900805052 Once you are approved to adopt, we'll help you find the perfect cat or kittens for your family. If there is a cat or two that you are interested in meeting, we can set up a meet and greet with their foster moms at that time. Please be respectful: Do not send us multiple emails or call our rescue helpline to tell us you sent an application. We are all volunteers with full-time jobs. If you are approved to adopt, we will contact you. *We only adopt in the local area surrounding Hickory, NC. We do not transport or ship cats. No exceptions.

Story
Gigi is a loving indoor/outdoor female cat. She is house trained like a dog and can also use a litter box. I have free food, litter boxes and litter. She loves to come and go inside and outside. I have an HOA which requires her to be on a leash when outside. I have cancer and mobility issues and cannot walk her outside. She is about 4 years old and spayed. Thanks.

Story
Yogurt is a super sweet girl. She loves to cuddle and sit in your lap. Yogurt appears to be young, at most 1 year old. I found her wandering around outside and thought she was a stray cat, but she was extremely friendly and was even house trained. Yogurt isn’t very active and sleeps/ lounges around a lot. Yogurt also loves to knead and ‘make biscuits’ on any surface she can. She does like to look outside and is very curious. Yogurt has the most energy when it comes to food. She is noisy and will let you know that she is hungry. The only trouble Yogurt has given me is that she hates baths. I don’t know if Yogurt has been spayed and is up to date on vaccines. I hope to give Yogurt the great and loving home she deserves! I feel that anyone who needs a friend to snuggle up with would be a great fit for Yogurt. She is very sweet and friendly and she would make a great cuddle buddy.

Story
Valerie is 2 - 3 years old; we are not sure. She was found outside in a cat colony where a rescue group was feeding. But Valerie was very tame and affectionate. Her foster family describes her as the sweetest, most loving cat. She loves to be picked up and rubs her head against your neck. She is living with other cats in her foster home and would probably prefer a more calm environment. She wants all of the attention from her humans. She did test positive for feline FIV but negative for leukemia. She can live as long as cats which do not have the disease (please check online), cannot spread to to other pets unless there is a deep bite (not spread through grooming, sharing food, water or litter boxes) and cannot spread to humans.

Story
Butterscotch is a big orange male cat who was found as a stray. A local homeowner was feeding him but he was looking ragged. So he went to the vet and was treated for an upper respiratory condition. He has also been neutered and received his vaccines. He is a playful and sweet boy (like most orange male cats) and is enjoying feeling better and eating regularly. He would love to be your indoor cat. The homeowner would keep him but his other cat is very territorial and doesn't want a housemate.

Story
GiGi is approximately 3 years old and weighs about 12 lbs. She does well with dogs and other cats. She loves to be petted and will sleep with her foster family if allowed to. She doesn't like to be picked up but will sit on the couch with you and allow you to pet her for hours. She would fit into any household if it is not too rowdy. Her eyes are either green or golden depending upon the light. She is not spayed yet, but has an appointment.
