Story

Dustin was born in April, 2022 on my property and has lived here ever since. He was mostly an outside cat, but only out of necessity. Recently it has become impossible for the cats to live outside, so he’s been strictly inside the house for a few weeks. He’s so friendly and gentle and loves human interaction. He loves the other cats here and gets along well with my two dogs. I don’t want to see him go, but I know that he would be happier in a home with fewer animals and more human attention. He’s very snuggly, and loves to stay near humans as much as possible. Ideally, I would love to see him adopted into the same home as Nancy and/or Jonathan (they are brothers or cousins), who I am also listing here. I realize though that that might not be possible, and as long as they have happy forever homes, then I’ll be so grateful. Please feel free to email me with questions or to arrange a visit!

She was born underneath our my shed in the backyard. When the yard maintenance guy came out to take care of the lawn he noticed the sibling all running around. I found her barely breathing laying the dirt. She was a fighter and fought right along aside me to bring her back up to where she needed to be. She had came along way and is still timid around me. She just needs someone she’ll be able to trust and feel comfortable with. Love playing with the laser and cats toys. I would get her fixed and up to date on her shots but I unfortunately lost my job recently and can’t not afford to do so.

Karen still isn’t a fan of being picked up, but her affection and quirky ways more than make up for it. Speaking of quirks, Karen has a sweet tooth! She LOVES ice cream and insists on having a small taste. Karen is fully vetted: spayed, microchipped and received the FVRCP and rabies vaccines. She is currently being fostered in the Huntsville, Alabama area but is available for transport to an approved adopter. The approved adopter will be responsible for the cost of transport. Say hello to Iceman. Iceman is a sweet quiet young man who is looking for a patient home. He actually loves being in your lap but needs a home willing to give him time to settle in and who understands he wants to ask for attention vs receive it randomly. He absolutely loves other cats, particularly other friendly playful cats, and would make a great companion for another young cat or kitten. Iceman is a quiet shy cat who's had a rough life in his 1.3 years. Iceman was originally with FOR as a kitten, was adopted and when he was about 8 months, he was diagnosed with FIP. FIP is considered fatal, however there is an experimental treatment that shows a lot of promise and his adopters decided to get him started with it. Part way through the 3 month treatment, they decided to release him back to FOR, and he's been in a foster home since then. He completed his initial 3 months of treatment and completed a 3 month monitor period and he is as healthy as they come. Once the three month period is over with no relapse, he is considered cured from FIP, making him an #FIPWarrior and #FIPSurvivor. He is listed as special needs because of the FIP in his past, although it is not expected to influence him again. The initial stages of FIP treatment are very painful, so he has anxiety about being approached and being grabbed. He is very happy to approach you and sit on your lap and be petted, but he wants it to be on his terms. Do you have a special place for Iceman? He's alive thanks to his treatment, he's healthy as can be and he just needs a kind and patient home who understands his quirks. He's fully vetted, neutered and ready to move on (preferably to home with a cat buddy too).
