Story
You’d never guess Max likely spent most of his life outdoors before he was brought to a rural county shelter. The only reminder of his past is a scar on his neck likely from getting caught in a fence. Other than that he’s adjusted beautifully to his foster home. Though he can keep on long walks around the neighborhood, he’s very docile, quiet, & gentle indoors, preferring to sunbathe or sleep next to his humans. He peacefully coexists with his similar sized foster siblings (though he seems to prefer females). Max has also met and interacted with kids while out and about and isn't bothered by unexpected hugs or noise. He's even enjoyed a violin serenade by one of his temp fosters. He’s working on being okay crated when left alone and he’s already housebroken. Max is a 3 years old, yellow lab mix, who is ~50lbs. He’s neutered & microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & prevention. Story
Meet Carlow, a 1-year-old Lab mix who’s truly the best boy! He’s friendly with dogs of all sizes, currently lives with 4 cats, and gets along well with kids. Carlow is both potty and crate trained, making him an easy companion. While he can be a bit nervous at first, once he warms up, he shows off his playful puppy energy. Carlow is still adjusting to living inside and learning to be a dog. He is also working on learning how to walk on a leash. An understanding and patient adopter is a must. If you’re looking for a laid-back dog without all the work of raising a puppy, Carlow is the perfect fit for you!

Story
Mama Lemon is on the Search for Her Forever Home! This sweet girl was just a baby herself when she gave birth to 5 puppies. Mama Lemon came to us from one of our rural shelter partners and when we first committed to her, we had no idea she was expecting. But when we arrived to pick her up, we were met with a big surprise—Lemon was a mama to be! As a small, foster-based rescue, we rely heavily on weekly fundraising, and our amazing community rallied around us to help welcome this special family with open arms. Lemon is our first mama dog, and she’s shown us just how resilient and loving she is. Now that her puppies are finding their forever homes, it’s her turn to be in the spotlight! At around 1 year old and weighing about 35 lbs (she’s still working on losing some baby weight), Lemon is a lab/beagle mix with a heart of gold. She’s been fostered with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments and does well with everyone. While she’s still a bit nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, she’s making progress every day. Lemon is looking for a forever home with a fenced-in yard for safety and is continuing to learn how to walk on a leash. She’s getting better with each step! Lemon would also benefit from another playful and confident dog in her forever home. Once she’s comfortable, Lemon is incredibly affectionate and will happily accept all the pets and attention you can give. She just needs some time to adjust and learn that she’s safe and loved. Lemon will make an amazing companion for someone who sees her full potential and is ready to give her the patience and love she deserves.
