Story
You’d never guess Max likely spent most of his life outdoors before he was brought to a rural county shelter. The only reminder of his past is a scar on his neck likely from getting caught in a fence. Other than that he’s adjusted beautifully to his foster home. Though he can keep on long walks around the neighborhood, he’s very docile, quiet, & gentle indoors, preferring to sunbathe or sleep next to his humans. He peacefully coexists with his similar sized foster siblings (though he seems to prefer females). Max has also met and interacted with kids while out and about and isn't bothered by unexpected hugs or noise. He's even enjoyed a violin serenade by one of his temp fosters. He’s working on being okay crated when left alone and he’s already housebroken. Max is a 3 years old, yellow lab mix, who is ~50lbs. He’s neutered & microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & prevention. Story
Lacey is 75% lab and 25% pointer and will turn one on 1/18. She’s approximately 60 pounds. In typical lab fashion she is obsessed with toys and will drop a ball right in your lap to throw. She is dog friendly but some may not appreciate her obliviousness to personal space and tendency to shove a toy in their face to initiate play. For this reason small children may not be the best fit simply due to her size. She has no reaction to toys being “stolen” other than to steal them back. She knows the commands sit, shake, and down. We were told she also loves to swim! Lacey’s family unfortunately lost their home in Hurricane Helene. Coupled with her elderly owner’s mobility issues, the family made the heartbreaking but fair decision to find Lacey a family better suited for her youthful energy and size. She has been well cared for and loved. She has been kept up to date on vaccines & prevention and is spayed & microchipped. She is housebroken and crate trained. She’s also a great car rider. She could use a little more training with leash walking. Girl is strong but she’s got the basics down and is food motivated. The adoption fee is $300 which is paid as a donation to the rescue. If you are interested in adopting Lacey, please go to our website and fill out an application: www.thefosterdoghouse.org

Apollo was found in a parking lot as a puppy, and was rescued. He has spent the last 4 years as an indoor-outdoor dog. He loves to cuddle on the couch, sleep peacefully, go on walks and is overall very mild mannered. Unfortunately due to some family circumstances he can no longer stay in the household and is looking for a loving home.

House-trained, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Name: Meadow Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Age: Estimated 3 years Background: Meadow was picked up as a stray. Personality: We are still getting to know Meadow, but so far she is pleasant and friendly. She is quiet and easy-going, but outside her playful side comes out. She loves to play bow and run around with you. She'll even give you hugs in exchange for butt scratches. At first, she may not seem interested, but the moment you start running around with her, she'll open up. She appears house trained and she keeps her kennel clean. She has not been dog tested, but she displays friendly behavior to the other dogs through the kennels. She'll often go up to them and try to lick their noses. Ideal Home: Meadow would be a great family dog. She would love a place to run around and play, or she may love having an adventure buddy to take her around. Final Thoughts: We are still getting to know Meadow and we're excited to see more of her personality come out. She'll make a wonderful addition to any family! She is not yet spayed, but will be before adoption.

Story
Sadie is a beautiful lab/boxer mix who found herself at a shelter when she was a few months old. She was very shy and quiet….fast forward to now since being in a foster home, this sweet girl has gained confidence and her personality shines through. She flies through the air like a ballerina and just loves to do zoomies outside. Due to this, Sadie would need a fenced in yard. She rides well in a car and prefers playing in the yard to walking in the neighborhood.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi my name is Mickey I came from the shelter they were going to euthanize me because they were overcrowded. I am approx five years old up to date on vaccines and microchipped. I have made a couple of friends at the rescue but I am not ok with small little dogs or cats, my foster mommy says if you apply for me and have a doggie we will have to do a meet and greet to make sure we both get along.  I am a snuggler, I will come sit in your lap. I love to play in the yard and search for treats as you toss them in the grass, I I will find everyone of them because I have a great nose. I love my toys but they have to be tough toys because I don't know what's wrong with some of mommy's toys, some of them just blow up and go poof and stuffing goes everywhere. I am totally housebroken and crate trained, I would love a new home and family to call my ownDo you have room on your couch for me? Or your lap?
