Story
Meet Zuri! Our beautiful little girl that is mixed with all sorts of gorgeous dog elements that include most probably Border Collie/Husky mix.  This crystal blue eyed girl has waited a long time to have her chance to be offered for adoption.  You see she was part of a cruelty case back in October and was severely malnourished and was pregnant with babies.  All her pretty babies have been adopted but poor Zuri was left behind.  She was taken from the small TN shelter last month to decompress and learn some home/family life.  She is ready now for a wonderful new family to call her own .  This girl is a mature and settled 3-4 years old, spayed, UTD on vaccinations, HW- and ready for the good life with a family that will love and cherish her forever. Her beautiful blue eyes and open personality will make you love her instantly.  This girl loves to run and play in the yard with other dogs and absolutely loves the water! She does good as your passenger in the car for pup cup runs and would do good in a home with older, dog savvy children that are 10 years and above. She is still learning not to pull on her leash and is doing very good at her sit command. Zuri just wants her chance to prove that she’s a great family member and cuddle up with you at night!  If you are interested in this housebroken, crate trained, pretty girl that deserves the best life from her on out…please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com     PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Luna is a beautiful young Lab mix girl who has endured a very unstable start to her life that has left her shy and unsure of herself at just 5-6 months of age.  This 25 pound girl is precious in body and soul and craves a confident hand to show her how to enjoy the world around her with joy and delight.   She is so pretty and actually her ears stand up when she is not being shy for the camera.  This sweet girl lived in a single bedroom of a disabled man for months and finally Critter Cavalry Rescue was able to secure a foster home for her to leave and get the great foster home that could work with her to build her self-esteem.  She rides well in a car and walks nicely on a leash.  She is wonderful with cats, other dogs and shyly accepts attention from strangers.   She will be a new girl in a short time of living with a competent and capable foster mom and family.   She would be wonderful with children too!  We envision this girl going to live with someone that has another confident, mature dog and who can take her on walking adventures and playful times in a fenced backyard.  Luna will be a top weight of 45 pounds when fully grown.   She has all the good stuff in her heart and soul and personality to be one of the move loving dogs you could ever adopt into your home.  If you are interested please write to us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Nina is a little girl who was born around Mid-May and the family who had their dog give birth, moved away from their country rental and left 10 puppies behind with no plan for food or water…..just an outdoor pen.  After several months of a neighbor feeding them, Critter Cavalry Rescue was called in to help take them from the pen and give them a chance to find homes.  This girl survived months of abandonment and starvation and has emerged with a few social hesitancies and insecurities, yet a smart mind and loving soul.  She is crate trained, housebroken, wonderful with children that are young, other dogs and also cats.  She is a champ when it comes to being there for you but socially skittish when there are loud noises, sudden movements from outside and thunderstorms.  Nina is coming in to a place that she is showing confidence and not scared of certain things.  She will get there soon, but will need someone that doesn’t require her to be perfect.  She truly is perfect in so many ways despite her really challenging early months as a litter that was abandoned.  Nine is a lab/Pit mix that is beautiful and 44 pounds and a full weight as an adult.   She is very sweet and loving and good with children,  dogs, but NO CATS…..she loves to chase.    She is housebroken and she is crate trained and is a true outdoor girl. She loves to sunbath on the back patio and she welcomes the opportunity to meet new people.  She is pretty good on a leash and good on car rides and great recall that usually works for her.  She is a companion puppy.  She is a Lab/Pit mix and has the heart and soul of a Golden Retriever.   If you are interested in giving this homeless girl a new life and family, please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Are you looking for a sweetheart of a young dog?  An older puppy that is not quite 5 months old and who is very easy to have around and more than special to love.   Meet Tenderhearted Thelma, a Black Lab mix girl that was found with her sister, Louise, running down the side of the road in the country on a busy  highway.  Obviously someone had dumped these special girls and allowed them to find their innocent way in this world…and death by a car was just a few minutes away.  A wonderful rescue foster mom for Critter Cavalry Rescue saw what was happening and stopped her and gathered the two precious girls to remove them from harm’s way.  As you can see from her posture, Thelma is very submissive and not quite so sure of herself.  She is on a small farm with all sorts of animals; horses, pigs, goats, dogs, cats, newborn puppies, and fitting in easily and with submissive posturing.  We want a family to take this girl who will grow to be 50 pounds, and mold her, build her confidence and love her to the moon and back.   She is learning about life and we want a family to teach her all the good things that a well mannered dog needs to know how to do.  If you are a teacher, a lover of dogs and a patient person who will let her bloom at her own speed, then please write to us about Tenderhearted Thelma.   Critter Cavalry Rescue has her ready to go!!!   Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Winston!   Age: 18 Months | Weight: 50 lbs Winston's story begins in a heartbreaking way, as he was born to a stray mother who tragically lost her life living in the woods and all her puppies were found playing near her body.  There were 8 puppies and they all, along with Winston have overcome many hardships from a very young age. He has been living with a trainer and behaviorist who has worked with his insecurities and fears and what great strides he has made.  Now, he’s ready to find a forever home that offers him the love and security he deserves.  Loves to Play: Winston is a playful soul who adores fetch and tug of war. Despite his initial shyness, once he warms up, he's a bundle of joy and energy! Great with Other Pets: Winston loves other dogs and is always ready for a playdate. He also does wonderfully with cats, making him a perfect addition to a multi-pet household. ‍‍‍ Takes Time with Kids: Winston can be a bit nervous around children initially. He needs a family that will introduce him slowly and gently to younger members. &#239&#184&#143 Evening Cuddles: After a day full of play, there’s nothing Winston loves more than cuddling up on the couch for movie night with his family.  Winston is a smart and loving companion once you get to know him, and he’s looking for a patient, understanding owner who can continue to help him grow into the wonderful dog he’s meant to be.  He is totally housebroken, crate trained and just needs to belong somewhere that is quiet and soft spoken.  If you think you could be Winston's person, please reach out to us at Critter Cavalry Rescue. Let’s help give Winston the loving future he deserves.    Email us at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Meet Eddie!  Born in early February to a chocolate lab/pittie mix, it's hard to believe Eddie looks like a Whippet or Greyhound mix! At 6 months old, he weighs 27 lbs and will grow up to be a medium-sized boy. As the runt of his litter, he's watched all his siblings get adopted, and now it's his turn for a forever home. Currently, Eddie is thriving in a foster home with another young pup. He spends his days wrestling with his buddy and going to the park with his foster family. But it's time for this charming little guy to find his own family! Eddie is a unique mix, likely with some hound in him, and his sweet deep howl is just one of his many endearing qualities. He's a joyful pup who gets along with all his foster siblings, big and small. His submissive nature and food motivation have made him a quick learner in leash, dog door, and potty training. He loves his crate, human snuggles, and respects house rules. Eddie is eager to please and will make an excellent addition to any home looking for a sweet, handsome pup with a great start on his training. Ready to add a special member to your family? Adopt Eddie and watch him grow up with you! &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 #AdoptDontShop #RescueDog #DogAdoption #CritterCavalryRescue #ForeverHome #PuppyLove #AdoptDash PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
I am so sad to be rehoming our sweet Leia, but she needs a calmer house than we can provide. We adopted her when she was 4 (she’s 7.5 now) and unfortunately wasn't super well socialized with other dogs. However, she is a wonderful, cuddly, affectionate dog, but she does have some anxiety and reactivity. She would do best in a home without other pets, especially dogs or cats. She has been great with our kids, but I think the chaos of our four young kids makes her more anxious. I think she'd be fine in a home with kids ages 9+. She does fine with short walks or running around a fenced yard. Fully potty trained and easy to care for in general. Her behavior is fine 95% of the time, but it's really just with other dogs she has issues or just with too much chaos she gets worked up. She needs a calmer home & family who can handle her dog reactivity (or has a private environment where she's not around other animals). I love her dearly and want her to find a good home. Unsure of exact breed.

Story
I’m Brett, a handsome Labrador Retriever/terrier mix who is looking for my forever fetch partner!I was surrendered to the Humane Society of York County when my previous owner could no longer care for me. My estimated birth date is July 2019, and I'm about 60 pounds.Did I mention that playing fetch is my favorite activity? I love to go on a good hike as well, especially if there’s some water to wade in along the way.I can be nervous meeting new people, but if you give me time to get comfortable and trust you, I bring the cuddles and am an affectionate boy.I’ve been at the shelter too long and need a stable forever home! I’ve had a rough journey and I need a family that will show me love and patience.I’ve enjoyed my field trips with HSYC staff and volunteers, for hikes or pet store shopping, and have shown what a great car rider I am. I love to play with toys, and one of my favorite moves is to back up to my humans and sit on their lap.I would do best in a dog-experienced home that can manage my energy, and I’d prefer to be the only pet.If you wish to meet me, please call the Humane Society of York County at (803)-802-0902 to schedule an appointment. Please refer to our website for adoption requirements: https://humanesocietyofyorkcounty.org/adopt/adoption-process.htmlThank you for your support.

Story
My name is Milo Magoo and I am a 3 year old Golden Doodle with a birthday that is coming in the next few days… to turn 3 yrs. old.  I weigh 80 pounds and I am looking for an attentive and dog training family that will really shape and polish me to be the spectacular dog that I have the potential to be.  My current family really has no time to work with me to shape me in to a dog with great manners and emotional control.   I am bored in this home and I need physical and mental stimulation and fun challenges to do.  I am very happy, sweet, and very active with running and playing.  I am a male that is ALL BOY and if I had my wish I would say to adopt me if you have a girl dog in the family.   I would love to have a girlfriend for life!  When I am bored my favorite, yet dangerous, thing to do is eat socks.  So please watch that if you take me home.  It is totally out of boredom.   Critter Cavalry Rescue is tryng to change all this by placing me in the right home that they will review closely.   I am a silver tawny coloring and people just ohhhhh and ahhhhh over the color of my coat of  hair.  If you would like to adopt me please email right away at ccrnewengland@gmail.com Mention in the email where you live!!!   That helps so much too.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Hello world!   I am so excited to tell you my story of being saved from a shelter that was under siege from parvo.  I survived and I was broken out of the shelter by Critter Cavalry Rescue after spending 4 weeks there and hoping to live through it all. My name is Bridgette and I am about 5 months old and weigh 28 pounds.  They say I have all sorts of breeds probably in my blood line.  They say I looks like a Golden Retriever mix or an Aussie mix or a little Chow or just the best of what God could create.  My foster mom just loves my confidence and my small size and stature but my BIG personality.  How big will I be when I grow up? Who knows except that my foster mom says I have enough cute and cuddles for any size.  I think I will be 40-45 pounds and the perfect size to fit in just about anywhere.  Since I have gotten out of the shelter, I am crate-trained, but still working on the housebreaking because I have NOT been out of the shelter for long. It means that I don’t mind being in my crate and usually keep it clean and dry. I might holler when you first put me in my crate but my foster mom says, don’t be fooled. I’ll settle down with a blanket and toy after a little while. I just have to get used to being without my brothers and sisters and get used to my new family.  You know things change all the time for us rescued dogs.   We go from so many situations while the shelters and the rescues are trying their best to get it all just right for us.  I sleep in my crate at night. I love mealtime! I also love to chase toys. If you get me settled on a blanket next to you, I love a good snuggle time. I’m ready. Come and get me! I am spayed and healthy and loveable and snuggable and I really need a place to belong.  Can you love pretty little me?  Bridgette the golden charm that will make your life so much better.  Email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com and ask for an application for me.  Tell them where you live please…city and state. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comAugust 19, 2024, 2:03 pm
