Story
Name: Meadow Breed: Labrador Retriever Mix Age: Estimated 3 years Background: Meadow was picked up as a stray. Personality: We are still getting to know Meadow, but so far she is pleasant and friendly. She is quiet and easy-going, but outside her playful side comes out. She loves to play bow and run around with you. She'll even give you hugs in exchange for butt scratches. At first, she may not seem interested, but the moment you start running around with her, she'll open up. She appears house trained and she keeps her kennel clean. She has not been dog tested, but she displays friendly behavior to the other dogs through the kennels. She'll often go up to them and try to lick their noses. Ideal Home: Meadow would be a great family dog. She would love a place to run around and play, or she may love having an adventure buddy to take her around. Final Thoughts: We are still getting to know Meadow and we're excited to see more of her personality come out. She'll make a wonderful addition to any family! She is not yet spayed, but will be before adoption.

Story
You’d never guess Max likely spent most of his life outdoors before he was brought to a rural county shelter. The only reminder of his past is a scar on his neck likely from getting caught in a fence. Other than that he’s adjusted beautifully to his foster home. Though he can keep on long walks around the neighborhood, he’s very docile, quiet, & gentle indoors, preferring to sunbathe or sleep next to his humans. He peacefully coexists with his similar sized foster siblings (though he seems to prefer females). Max has also met and interacted with kids while out and about and isn't bothered by unexpected hugs or noise. He's even enjoyed a violin serenade by one of his temp fosters. He’s working on being okay crated when left alone and he’s already housebroken. Max is a 3 years old, yellow lab mix, who is ~50lbs. He’s neutered & microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & prevention. Meet Carlow, a 1-year-old Lab mix who’s truly the best boy! He’s friendly with dogs of all sizes, currently lives with 4 cats, and gets along well with kids. Carlow is both potty and crate trained, making him an easy companion. While he can be a bit nervous at first, once he warms up, he shows off his playful puppy energy. Carlow is still adjusting to living inside and learning to be a dog. He is also working on learning how to walk on a leash. An understanding and patient adopter is a must. If you’re looking for a laid-back dog without all the work of raising a puppy, Carlow is the perfect fit for you!

Story
Mama Lemon is on the Search for Her Forever Home! This sweet girl was just a baby herself when she gave birth to 5 puppies. Mama Lemon came to us from one of our rural shelter partners and when we first committed to her, we had no idea she was expecting. But when we arrived to pick her up, we were met with a big surprise—Lemon was a mama to be! As a small, foster-based rescue, we rely heavily on weekly fundraising, and our amazing community rallied around us to help welcome this special family with open arms. Lemon is our first mama dog, and she’s shown us just how resilient and loving she is. Now that her puppies are finding their forever homes, it’s her turn to be in the spotlight! At around 1 year old and weighing about 35 lbs (she’s still working on losing some baby weight), Lemon is a lab/beagle mix with a heart of gold. She’s been fostered with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments and does well with everyone. While she’s still a bit nervous around new people and unfamiliar environments, she’s making progress every day. Lemon is looking for a forever home with a fenced-in yard for safety and is continuing to learn how to walk on a leash. She’s getting better with each step! Lemon would also benefit from another playful and confident dog in her forever home. Once she’s comfortable, Lemon is incredibly affectionate and will happily accept all the pets and attention you can give. She just needs some time to adjust and learn that she’s safe and loved. Lemon will make an amazing companion for someone who sees her full potential and is ready to give her the patience and love she deserves.

Story
Cleo and her siblings came to rescue on the very day they were scheduled for euthanasia. They were extremely shut down and scared of human touch, having never been socialized before. They had no idea how to navigate the new world around them. Since entering her foster home, Cleo has made remarkable progress. She’s beginning to understand what it means to be a puppy, and her unique personality is starting to emerge. Once she’s comfortable, Cleo is all about snuggles, belly rubs, and outdoor walks, and she’s starting to crave affection and attention. We aren’t sure what Cleo is mixed with other than lab, but we do expect her to be a large dog when fully grown. She’s around 6 months old now and 35 lbs. While Cleo is still learning how to play, she’s catching on quickly by observing the other dog in her foster home. Because of her more reserved nature and lack of early socialization, we believe Cleo would thrive with another dog in her adoptive home. While it’s not a requirement, we think she’d form a strong bond with a dog who is affectionate and playful like her! As Cleo gains more confidence, her puppy energy is starting to show. We believe once she settles in fully, she’ll be a medium-energy dog. She’s also very smart and has picked up on potty training with ease. While she’s not fully trained, she understands when she needs to go outside, so it’s just a matter of being attentive to her cues to prevent accidents. Although Cleo hasn’t interacted with children, we’re confident she would bond well with them. She may be a little shy at first, but she has never shown any signs of aggression and we’re sure she’d adapt well to kids of all ages. Cleo is perfectly content as long as she’s receiving plenty of love and attention from her humans. She would do just fine in any home, as long as she gets her daily walks or visits to the dog park for exercise. She’s shown us she’s a true people dog, and all she really needs to be happy is to be surrounded by love!
