Story
Meet Pyeongon!  Breed: Chihuahua mixAge: 6 MonthsGender: Female    Weight: 7 lb   Height: 30CmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, playful Hello, I’m Pyeongon, a 6-month-old puppy with a unique name that means “tranquil” in Korean. My journey began when my mama was saved from the euthanasia list. I was born in a safe and loving foster home with my five sisters. Mama took such good care of us, making sure we all had plenty of milk and love. At 3 months old, I moved to another foster home where my foster mom introduced me to the big world. I’ve explored urban areas, made lots of friends (both two-legged and four-legged), and learned so much about life! What I’m Like: I’m a sweet and affectionate pup who adores people and other dogs. Don’t let my serious face fool you—I’m a happy little girl who loves cuddles! I’ll gladly snuggle in your lap or even nap on your chest. If you’re looking for a perfect lap dog, I’m your girl! I enjoy playing with other dogs, regardless of size, but I do prefer gentle playmates. Rough and tumble games can be a bit overwhelming for me. I haven’t met a cat yet, so I’m not sure how I’d feel about feline friends. My Favorite Things: • Walks: I love going on walks and might get a bit excited—I’m fast and love to sniff all the smells! • Toys: Balls and rubber toys are the best! • Car & Stroller Rides: I’m calm and happy to tag along wherever you go. My Skills: • I know tricks like “sit,” “wait,” and “give paw.” • I’m crate-trained and rarely bark. • I don’t show any signs of separation anxiety or resource guarding. • I’ve never been aggressive, and I don’t try to escape. Training Progress: I’m 50% housetrained (half on pee pads and half outdoors) and working hard to improve. Right now, I sometimes have excitement urination, but my foster mom says most puppies outgrow that as they get older. What I’m Looking For: I’m looking for a loving forever home where I can continue to grow, play, and cuddle. Whether you’re an active family or someone who loves a cozy lap dog, I’d be a great fit. Are you ready to make me part of your family? Let’s meet soon—I’m sure we’ll be best friends in no time! With love, Pyeongon Energy Level: Moderate - enjoys outdoor activities I get along with:Dogs: YesCats: UnknownKids: Yes Fears: Unknow/Non observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. 50% pee-pads/50% outdoors Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##2269843##

Story
Meet Taepyeong – Your Carefree Companion! Annyeong (hello)! My name is Taepyeong, which means “care-free” in Korean, and I’d love to tell you a little about myself! Breed: Chihuahua mixAge: 6 MonthsGender: Female    Weight: 9.5 lb   Height: 30CmHighlight(s): Good with other dogs, affectionate, playful I was born in a warm, safe foster home after my mama dog was rescued from the euthanasia list. She was such a great mom to me and my five sisters, making sure we always had plenty of milk and love. When I turned 3 months old, I went to another foster home where I got to hang out with some awesome dogs for three months. It was so fun, and I made lots of furry friends! At first glance, you might think I’m a little shy—I do keep a serious expression on my face—but don’t let that fool you! Once you get to know me, you’ll discover my sweet, affectionate side. I love humans, and I’m totally okay with being petted and even lifted. Here’s what makes me special: I love other dogs! Whether it’s playing chase or a good ol’ play fight, I thrive on doggy playtime, especially at doggy cafes. I’m curious about cats but not overly excited. Since I’m a tiny girl (smaller than most cats!), I think I’d get along well with them. I have a moderate energy level, perfect for someone looking for a balanced pup—playful but not too wild. No resource guarding here! I’m happy to share with people and other dogs. Sometimes, new places or objects (like drainage covers) can make me nervous. If I get scared, I might lie down flat and refuse to move. But with your gentle support—maybe a little lift past the scary part—I’ll perk up and be back to my happy, bouncy self in no time. A few other fun facts about me: I’m crate-trained and working on my housetraining (currently about 50% pee-pads/50% outdoor potty). I love chew toys and tug-of-war! I’m learning to like car rides, but I still get a little carsick sometimes—don’t worry, I’m improving. I only bark when I need something, like a bathroom break or when I hear sudden noises (doorbells or other dogs barking). I don’t have separation anxiety, and I’m not an escape artist, so I’d make a great addition to your home. If you’re looking for a loving, playful, and brave little pup who just needs a bit of patience in new situations, I might be the perfect match for you. Let’s meet and start our journey together—maybe we can even visit a doggy café for some fun! Story
Introducing the darling Jennifer, a petite 2-year-old Chihuahua-Jindo mix weighing in at a delightful 10 kilograms. This precious pup has quite the story to tell, having been rescued from a kill shelter alongside her precious puppies. Jennifer is what you might call a "people person" in the canine world. She adores meeting new friends and welcomes them with open paws, allowing even strangers to lavish her with pets and cuddles. In fact, she's quite the social butterfly and doesn't mind being carried around like the little queen she is. And oh, don't even get her started on belly rubs she's practically an expert at melting hearts with her irresistible display of a soft, fluffy belly begging for attention. Having been a devoted mom to her puppies, Jennifer has learned the art of sharing and getting along swimmingly with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She's a true peacemaker, always opting for a calm and collected approach when there's a sniff of conflict in the air. Whether it's a boisterous playmate or a gentle giant, Jennifer is all about spreading harmony and love in the doggy world. When it comes to cats, Jennifer's curiosity might pique when she spots a stray feline on her walks. But fear not her focus remains firmly on her trusted handler, ensuring that she stays on track and doesn't get too distracted by those mysterious creatures with whiskers. Now, Jennifer may tend to pull a bit on the leash when she's overcome with excitement on her adventures. But fear not, for she quickly settles down once she's had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of her surroundings. And as for those tear stains? Well, it seems that chicken might be the culprit, but a little TLC and a carefully tailored diet will have her sparkling like the gem she truly is. This charming canine companion is seeking a forever family who can shower her with plenty of love and affection, along with a dose of tranquillity to match her serene disposition. If you believe Jennifer is "the one" for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to her devoted team. She's ready to sprinkle your life with endless joy and puppy kisses! ##2260956##

Story
Bebe is a lovely dog who was rescued from the streets after giving birth to her adorable puppies. Although she was shy at first, she quickly warms up to new friends, especially when treats are involved! She's great with children under 13, and you can easily carry her without any fuss. Bebe enjoys saying hello to other dogs, but she's more inclined to play with those who match her gentle energy level. She prefers calm, well-mannered companions over hyperactive pups. Having lived with cats for about eight months, Bebe is perfectly comfortable around them and doesn't mind their presence at all. With a moderate energy level, she loves going for walks and is a pro on the leash. After her strolls, she's happy to curl up and snooze the day away. Bebe is non-aggressive with her food and toys, and if she needs something, she'll simply bark to let you know. She's also great in a crate during car rides and knows how to hop in and out of vehicles, as long as they're not too high for her. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle companion, Bebe would love to meet you! ##2260954##

Story
Currently in Vancouver!!! Swiri is looking for a loving home She is a spayed Chihuahua mix girl, about 3 to 4 years old and weighs 5kg Swiri is incredibly friendly and affectionate, easily approaching both familiar and unfamiliar people for pets and cuddles -she’s especially great with children under 13. She is comfortable being lifted by placing hands under her belly.  Swiri also gets along well with other dogs, happily greeting and playing with dogs of all sizes. While she can be bold with smaller dogs and initially hesitant around high-energy ones, she eventually joins in the fun. However, if provoked by another dog, she will stand her ground. Though her reactions to cats and other animals haven’t been observed yet, testing can be arranged if needed.  She has a moderate energy level, enjoying outdoor activities but settling down quietly afterward. During walks, she may pull on the leash and generally follows her handler well, though she feels nervous around busy streets with lots of cars. She does not guard her food from people or other dogs but may bark to express her needs, such as asking for food or wanting to go out. She tends to whine when kenneled and is comfortable with both indoor pad training and outdoor potty breaks.  Swiri was found on the street and sent to a kill shelter for euthanasia View more photos and videos on Facebook (Link to Post) or Instagram (Link to Post) Does she sound like the right companion for you? Send in your application today here or through our website: adoptmekoreanrescue.org/adoption-application/ AKR dogs can arrive at Vancouver or Toronto airport and may be able to arrive at some US airports (Seattle, LA, NY, Boston, etc) where we have flight volunteers.
