Story
Please read description thoroughly Gemma is a delightful 6-month-old puppy weighing in at 15 pounds. While we’re not entirely sure of her breed, she might be a mix of Chihuahua, Corgi, and possibly Dachshund. Gemma was surrendered to a crowded shelter along with her mom and four siblings, all of whom have since found new rescues. It seems they may have come from a situation involving backyard breeders. Despite her rocky start, Gemma’s spirit shines brightly. She’s a sweetheart who adores belly rubs and has a playful, spunky side. Although she’s a bit shy around new faces, she warms up quickly and is eager to make friends. Currently, Gemma is in a loving foster home where she’s learning the ropes of house training. She’s up-to-date on her vaccinations, microchipped, and will be spayed soon. Gemma gets along wonderfully with other dogs and has a gentle, submissive nature that suggests she’d likely do well with cats, though she hasn’t been tested with them yet. If you’re looking for a loyal and affectionate companion, Gemma is ready to be your best friend. Visit www.misfitsdogrescue.org to apply and bring this sweet pup into your home! Her adoption fee is $275 August 20, 2024, 12:05 am

Story
Highlights: -Could do well with kids -Could do well with other dogs or as only dog Meet Nyla, a 13-pound female Chihuahua who has never met a stranger. Nyla is incredibly curious and adores pets and scratches, always eager to make new friends. She loves other dogs and is playful with both small and large dogs, effortlessly mingling with everyone she meets. Nyla walks very well on a leash and is highly motivated by treats, making her a joy to train.Nyla would be happy as the only dog in a home, but she would also enjoy having a dog friend to share her adventures. She has a cute little swagger when she's happily prancing around, and she makes it a point to meet and greet all the dogs at puppy parties. Nyla greets people with a big grin, always asking for more scratches and affection. Are you ready to welcome this social and loving Chihuahua into your home? Nyla is eager to find her forever family and share her boundless curiosity and joy with you.- - - - - -Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, many of these dogs come around with patience and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience. Story
Hi there, I'm Nemo, and I am a senior dog with lots of love and affection to give! I was returned to the rescue that I was adopted from as a puppy, when my momma passed away unexpectedly. I am mostly deaf at this point, but I don't let that stop me from being the best Neighborhood Watch Commander and letting my humans know about stuff happening outside. I am a very affectionate dog, I love food, and I enjoy being snuggly and getting belly rubs. Even though I'm a senior, I still have a lot of energy and love to go on walks. I am a very good dog who is good with most other dogs and with cats, and I am very loyal to my human friends and want to be with them constantly. I am a sweet and gentle dog who is hoping to find a loving home where I can live out my golden years. I have so much love to give and I am eager to find my forever home. If you're looking for a companion who will love you endlessly, look no further than me, Nemo! I can't wait to meet you and start our life together.

Story
JuJuBe is a quiet and shy nine-year-old senior dog who has spent most of her life as a breeding dog. She is good with other dogs who are appropriate with small seniors and would benefit from a calm, quiet home where she can relax and enjoy her golden years. She ignores the cats that she currently lives with. Due to her shy and quiet nature, JuJuBe would do best in a home without small children. She would benefit from a patient and experienced adopter who can give her the time and space she needs to feel comfortable and loved. Even though she prefers to not be touched at this time, JuJuBe LOVES snacks and treats and will greet her trusted humans with a tail wag and an occasional bark. JuJuBe has no leash skills and would prefer a secure yard (no matter how small) for her trips outside. We hope that you will consider giving JuJuBe the loving home she deserves.

Story
Lucy and Ricky are ten year old chihuahua mixes who came from the same hoarding situation. Lucy is a pretty friendly gal but Ricky takes just a minute to get used to new people. Once you scratch the top of his head he is good to go. Lucy just loves to lick and will take any opportunity she gets, even if it's a stranger. These two have about two teeth apiece after their dentals, so they eat soft food. They love treats and attention. Lucy will play with a toy when she is in the right mood, but mostly these two just need a lap for snugglin'. They do pretty well in the house when they are let out regularly. Ricky walks great on a leash. Lucy is a work in progress. They currently eat and sleep in kennels. Ricky is on a couple of heart medications, which he takes eagerly with some lunchmeat. Ricky is not fond of kids, and neither of them like big dogs who run around. They do great with other small dogs. We'd sure like to find them a home where they can spend their retirement together, since they do seem to prefer each other's company despite their brief periods of bickering, much like their namesakes. The fee to adopt them together is $400 fully vetted. Application can be found at fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/.
