Story
Meet Lulu, our sweet Apple Head Chihuahua puppy. This little lady adores curling up in your lap and showering you with kisses. Although Lulu is still discovering the joy of toys, as she didn't come from the best circumstances, she's quickly learning with a bit of patience. She needs time to trust her humans, but once she does, she's incredibly loving and loyal. Lulu's ideal home is a peaceful one, without young children, where she can feel safe. A fenced yard for supervised play and sunbathing would be the cherry on top for this precious pup.Lulu's adoption fee includes her spay, microchip, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm test (if over 9 months old), and kept up to date on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. If you are interested in Lulu, you may fill out an application at www.tlchs.org or you are welcome to make a Match Making appointment to come out and meet her first. Story
Daisy was born in 2015 and is 9 years old. She is a chiweenie (chihuahua & dachshund) and is a super sweet dog once you get to know her. She does have a little stranger danger but will eventually come around and play. She is very loyal to her owners and will snuggle in your lap with you if you let her. She is crate trained and potty trained. She does not have any accidents in the home. She is energetic and loves being outside to run around. We unfortunately do not have the area for her to run around in and that’s part of the reason for trying to find her a new home. She would enjoy walking freely outside in someone’s yard with a fence. We have 2 young kids and she plays well with both kids. She has never bitten any of us or any stranger. She is a sweet dog that needs someone that is home more to give her the attention she needs. 🩷

Story
Meet Bailey Bailey is a gorgeous little dog. Like so many, she’s had a rough life. Her owner used to chase her and scare her into hiding. Bailey was terrified of him. Thankfully, she was surrendered to our shelter where we are helping her decompress, showing her only love and kindness. Bailey is responding so well to our world and is just the most wonderful little lovebug. Bailey looks to be a chi/Italian greyhound mix. She has a pretty black and white coat, intelligent eyes, long legs and a happy prance. She weighs 17 lbs. She is thought to be two-three years old. Bailey has a wonderful demeanor. She is calm, gentle, out-going, friendly, affectionate, and well-mannered. After all she’s been through, she LOVES people, she likes dogs and doesn’t know what to think about cats lol! She’s curious about them, moving slowly to check them out and then shies away and busies herself elsewhere. Bailey loves jumping in a lap. She loves to be picked up and cuddled and then she’s off to explore her surroundings. She welcomes attention and just wags and wags her tail in bliss and happiness. Bailey loves giving little doggie kisses. She wants you to know how happy she is to feel safe and protected. She walks easily on a leash and enjoys an easy stroll. Bailey was known to run if given the chance. Letting her out in an enclosed area is recommended or keeping her on a leash at all times when outside. Our guess is that Bailey was scared of her owner and would run away when she could. Bailey lived inside, but she is not house-trained. We don’t think her owner spent much time working with her, so with consistency she would probably learn pretty quickly. As a small dog, it’s usually just a matter of taking them out more often than a bigger pup to let them do their business. Bailey is a precious little girl who will add so much joy to your world. She is a gem who has never had the chance to shine, but she’s ready to take your world and heart by storm. If interested in Bailey, please submit an application online at: charlessmithgallhumanesociety.org Once you submit it please email or call us so we can verify we have it. Our email is smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net. Phone: 706-865-4135 All adopters must complete an approval process which involves a reference check with current/recent vet and a brief home visit if located in the immediate area. We do permit out of state adoptions. Adopters MUST come to the shelter to transport their new family member home. We do not ship nor do we transport them to their new homes. Adoption policies and application procedures are detailed at the shelter website: http://smithgallhumanesociety.org/ under tab All Adoptable Animals. Charles Smithgall Humane Society (CSHS) is a No kill shelter. Animals in our care remain safe with us until adopted. Resident animals are primarily owner relinquished and also accepted from local Animal Control. The facility usually is operating at capacity with a list of animals waiting for space to open. Our shelter is closed to the general public. However, for approved adopters we are making appointments to meet and adopt your fur baby. Location: 4823 Helen Hwy., Sautee, GA 30571, Phone: 706-865-4135 Email: smithgallhumanesociety@windstream.net Our shelter in Sautee GA is located about 3 miles south of the alpine town of Helen in northeast GA.

Story
Meet Vann, a young, independent spirit with a mellow demeanor. He's a clever chap who loves to play, but he's also housetrained and respects boundaries. Vann is great with other dogs, and his smart and playful nature makes him a delightful companion. However, he's best suited to an adult-only home due to his protective nature, which can lead to him being a bite risk. Vann is a loyal friend who will guard you with his life. His intelligence and playful nature make him a joy to be around. He will need a fenced-in yard, and is open to training. If you're looking for a dog who will keep you on your toes and make your life more exciting, then Vann is the one for you. Vann weighs 15lbs. and is estimated to be 2 years old (estimated birthday 7/13/2022). His adoption fee is $175. If you want to know more about Vann, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. Story
Meet Chester, a distinguished gentleman with an independent spirit. He's smart, showing off his housetrained manners, and mellow, preferring quiet moments to chaotic environments. Yet, his playful side shines through during a game of fetch or tug-of-war. He's a cuddly companion, loyal to those he trusts, and protective, making him an ideal match for an adult-only home. Chester may not be a fan of feline friends, but he's eager to find his forever family. His bite risk indicates a need for understanding and patience, but in return, Chester offers unconditional love and unwavering loyalty. He does have a bite history, but with the right guidance and patience, Chester can learn to trust and relax. His smarts make him a quick learner, and he's eager to please. Adopt Chester and discover the joy of a steadfast companion. Chester weighs 12lbs. and is approximately 4 years old (est. birth date 08/08/2019), and his adoption fee is $305. Chester has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about him, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. Story
Introducing Trixie, the delightful 2-year-old, 17-pound female Chihuahua mix with a charming short coat, a curly tail, and eyes that reflect her soulful spirit. Trixie did come to the Humane Society as low heartworm positive but was treated. She loves being picked up and carried but is also doing well with her leash walking. She will need some time to learn a little potty training. She is used to having a yard to run and play in, so she would do best with a fenced in yard. She is also use to having companions so would also love another dog to play with. If you're interested in adopting Trixie please fill out an application online or call the Humane Society of Forsyth County at 770-887-6480. Adoption hours are Tuesday through Thursday 11-5 or Friday and Saturday 1-5. Trixie says come and meet me!
