Luella was nearly full term in her pregnancy when she was abandoned at a local animal shelter. The shelter contacted us and we quickly sent one of our volunteers to pick her up. Luella spent several weeks in a foster home where she gave birth to two tiny puppies. Her puppies have long since been adopted, however Luella has yet to find her forever home. This small shy Chihuahua mix prefers the company of women and is fearful of men. Luella would do best in a quiet home with someone that is home most of the day. An independent pup, she just needs to know you are near, not fond of being picked up or cuddled. Give her a good meal and a warm bed and she is perfectly content. Most of her day is spent just following you around the house or taking naps. The perfect roommate, she will listen to your troubles for hours and never complain. Luella is housebroken and enjoys having a fenced-in backyard she can explore. She had access to a doggy door in her foster home and enjoyed the freedom of being able to come and go as she pleased. Luella can be snippy with other dogs, but does do well with cats. If you’re looking for a small quiet companion that is easy to care for, Luella would be a good choice. Hello, my Name is Percy, it's short for Perseverance. I am a 7 year old Chihuahua, I am spayed and current on all shots. Sadly I tested positive for heartworms, so I was started on treatment. Treatment almost killed me so I am taking a safer route. I am in rescue because I was found by a sweet woman who was house sitting. She said I was quite the survivalist. Nobody had ever seen me before. I was gathering everything I needed out of someone's garage and taking it back to a flat bed trailer that I claimed, I even had some yummy cat food I have NEVER known humans to be nice and gentle so when the man came to trap me I was soooo scared. The man turned out to be safe he even brought me to rescue. I have been here a long time being worked with. everyone has shown me that humans are good and loving. Meet Trigger Trigger was dumped at a friend of mines moms’ house in August 2024. He is a very good boy and gets along well with people and other dogs. Not sure about cats as the fosters are allergic to kitties, but I would imagine he would be fine since he’s seems so sweet. He does have an old leg injury, that has healed, but he limps slightly. He is around 2 years old and around 10 pounds. Trigger is neutered, updated on all shots, and heartworm tested negative. He will need to be kept on heartworm prevention his whole life, like all dogs should. The adopt fee to cover his care and vetting is $100 to an approve and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. You can text/call his foster mom Joyce with any questions about Trigger since she knows him best. Meet Pebbles! Pebbles was found at a campground several months ago and unfortunately no one claimed her. The owner of the campground was about to call animal control when one of our fosters offered to take her in to keep her out of the shelter. We are guessing she is around 3 years old and looks to be a chihuahua/doxie mix, She weighs 13 pounds. She is spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and current on heartworm prevention. This girl is great with people and every pet she’s met. Not 100% sure about cats, but we do meet and greets anyways to make sure everyone gets along first anyway. She has a slightly deformed paw, probably a birth defect, but it doesn’t slow her down 1 bit and has been double check by the vet. Oh and she is house trained! The adoption fee is $250 to an approved and loving home. All vet records and her harness/leash will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. Meet Sunflower! 🌻 This poor sweet girls’ mom is in hospice now and no longer able to take care of her. Unfortunately no family members would take her in and instead chose to surrender her to the shelter. Luckily another rescue was there and offered to find a rescue to help her, so we agreed. Sunflower is very unsure of what is going on right now, but her foster mom is helping her through it all and she is doing ok. She is around 7 years old and weighs around 15 pounds. She will need a calm, adult only home since that’s what she’s used to. She may be spayed, but we are going to double check. Her vetting is scheduled for 2-25, unless we can get her in sooner and verify she is fixed. She will be spayed (if not already), updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested, and if heartworm negative started on preventative. The adoption fee is $150 to an approved and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption.
