Story
Location: Becker, MN I may be small but I have big heart!! I love being snuggled and held. I do still have some puppy spunk left and still like to play and run around with my brother. I'm a quiet lady who doesn't care much to bark and yip. I sleep quietly in my crate at night and while my foster mom is at work! I'm still working on this potty training business but if I'm let out on a schedule, I'll get it in no time because I'm really smart. I live with younger human siblings right now, and they scare me a little bit. They are loud and they move really fast. I think I'd like a quieter home. If you adopt me, I'll love you forever. ----- The best way to show interest in an animal is to submit an adoption application by visiting our website (www.rescuenetworkmn.org). Adoption fee includes spay/neuter, all age-appropriate vaccinations (Distemper, Rabies, and Bordetella), heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, heartworm test (dogs), FIV/FeLV test (cats), dewormed, and microchip implant (including registration). Rescue Network is strictly foster based which means all adoptable animals are in a home and there cannot be a meet until an application is submitted and approved. We have no way of knowing the breeds in the animals. All breeds listed are best guess.

HI! I'm Zinnia, I'm from a local shelter. From the foster: Zinnia is very smart and highly food motivated. She likes to sit on the deck. She likes her people to stay in the room where she can keep an eye on them. Zinnia does bark and her bark is rather loud for her size. She prefers women and seems like she'd do best in a home with very stable routines that will help ease her anxiety. Hello! Throughout my veterinary care at Secondhand Hounds, it was discovered I have heart issues. A cardiologist performed an echocardiogram and diagnosed me with aortic valve stenosis and patent ductus arteriosus. I had a Amplatz Canine Duct Occluder procedure completed at the University of Minnesota to help with my heart conditions. I will have a 3 month recheck at the U of M. At that appointment, it will be decided if I need an additional heart procedure. If I am adopted prior to this medical care, SHH will cover my 3 month recheck exam, second heart surgery (if deemed necessary) and my spay surgery at the SHH Vet Center (this will not occur until I am cleared).

Story
Hi, I'm Tiny Batman and I'm from Alabama! From his foster - Tiny Batman is a very sweet, high energy guy. He is very puppy-like and wants to cuddle with and be loved by his humans. He is good with other dogs and spends hours playing with my dog, inside and out in my fenced yard. He also does well in his crate at night, never makes a sound. He does have a fair amount of quirks, however, that a potential adopter needs to be aware of. He has some separation anxiety (with barking), but does do better when my resident dog is in the same room. Tiny Batman also exhibits a lot of "stranger danger" and will bark for several minutes or more when anyone comes into my home (even if he knows them). Because of his barking and anxiety, a quieter house with not a lot of people coming and going (and no shared walls) would be best. Tiny Batman has also developed some resource guarding issues that I am working with him on, and has nipped/bitten on a handful of occasions. Because of this, a home with no children or dog savvy older children is preferred. He is 95% potty trained, but this seems to be improving the longer he is with me! Tiny Batman would love a home environment that is relatively calm and would really like an active dog sibling to play with and help him with his anxiety. In exchange, he will provide you with a loving companion who will be your best friend forever!

Story
My name is Rose. I am from Minnesota. From her foster: Rose is very loving and just looking for someone to bond with! She is a snuggle buddy par excellence. She's generally quiet but will let you know if something's up outside. Good with dogs, though she can try to dominate smaller dogs, and pays no heed to my cat. Don't know how she is with kids because there are none here, but I don't see any reason she wouldn't be ok with them. Not crate trained but does fine sleeping in her own bed in her human's room. She would love to snuggle under the covers with you but if that's not cool, she is easily directed back to her own bed. I've only fostered her a short time but she is house trained when kept to a schedule. She is adventurous and likes to move along rapidly, so not a sedate walker on the leash. She walks companionably with my little pack and ignores the other dogs she sees out walking. For 8 years old, she is very lively, very athletic, seems much younger! She really is looking for love and will bond very quickly with you and be your constant companion. She is afraid of loud noises and fireworks. She looks like a classic "chiweenie", chihuahua/doxie mix but who knows what her true DNA is? Her heart is 100% gold. From the Vet: Rose was diagnosed with IVDD (intervertebral disc disease) and is currently on a trial of pain medications to help her be more comfortable. This is typically an age-related degenerative condition, but generally with rest and medical management with pain meds or joint supplements, most dogs still go on to live full lives! Her future home may want to have certain comfort aids such as ramps to get in car, bed, couch etc. a no pull harness rather than collar alone, or a raised food bowl. Rose should be monitored for further signs of degenerative pain as she ages and her owner should consult a primary care vet when needed to ensure her golden years are full of comfort and love!

Story
Little Bit, affectionately known to his friends and foster family as "Spleen, embodies the charm and warmth of the South. Originally found wandering the streets of Alabama, this sweet little chihuahua has found himself right at home in his current foster environment, where he's been winning hearts for about a month now. Spleen is a small dog with a big heart. He has been polite with his foster brother (large dog) and several cats that he's met during outings with friends. His gentle demeanor has earned him praise from all who meet him. On the weekends you can find him enjoying social situations such as dog-friendly patio restaurants and breweries. The little man also can strut his stuff on a leash and enjoys leisurely walks in the summer sun. In his foster home, Spleen adores snuggling under blankets and being close to his human companions. He has a penchant for car rides and is discovering the delight of playing with toys, showcasing his youthful spirit. His day to day routine includes regular potty breaks and medication every 8 hours, lovingly administered with a dab of his favorite peanut butter-a treat he eagerly anticipates. As a result, he will need a human who is close to home to keep him on schedule with his meds. Please read more from the vet below about his medical needs, spoiler alert: he's been doing great on regular medication and seems much more cheerful and zesty. He truly is a wonderful companion who is ready to bring joy and love to a new home. If you're looking for a loyal and loving addition to your family, consider adopting Spleen. He's a great little guy ready to share his Southern charm and affection with his forever family. From the Vet: Little Bit was seen at our Vet Center for a few seizure episodes. He is currently managing these episodes on three times daily As long as you are comfortable watching out for this Little Bit will be an amazing addition to any family!
