Story
Ella Mae has arrived from Mexico! This sweet girl has had a tough life but is looking forward to a new beginning! She is so sweet & gentle natured. She's calm but loves to explore. She is looking forward to a slow retirement home filled with love! Age: 12 Breed:  Chi Mix Weight:  12 lbs Kid-friendly: Great with kiddos but she is shy so we recommend older kiddos. Dogs: She's pretty bossy so she would need a very tolerant dog. She likes to bark orders! Cats: Yes but again, bossy ;) Crate trained: Yes! Potty trained: Yes! Health concerns: She only has two teeth! Adoption fee: $175 As a rescue, we provide the care, procedures and testing that is available to us.      Adopters will be responsible for continued preventatives, follow-up appointments, and medications (if applicable). At times, adopters will be responsible for procedures not completed in rescue (dentals, bloodwork, etc.) Your new dog will receive their rabies and distemper vaccine. $50 discount for seniors (65+) and veterans. Adoption fees help pay for the dog's veterinary exam, vaccinations (rabies and distemper) HW test, a microchip, and spay/neuter if needed and additional health needs specific to each animal.  Grey Face Rescue does not adopt outside of Minnesota for now. We apologize for the inconvenience. We do not adopt animals to families whose current pets are not up-to-date on vaccinations or not altered. Exceptions may be made for medical reasons as stated by a veterinarian and we will require proof of that recommendation. Thank you for understanding our mission to reduce overpopulation. Once you submit your application, our adoption manager will be in touch, so please check your spam folder if you do not see something from us within 7-10 days. Thank you again for your interest in a Grey Face senior. We appreciate your support!  February 4, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Sissy is a sweet, gentle, playful little girl.  She enjoys being outside in the yard exploring and observing everything going on around her and laying in the sun.  She loves to play with the other small dogs in her foster home.  A fenced in yard would be best for Sissy allowing her to go in/out independently to do her business.  She enjoys going on walks, she is potty trained, and loves playing and chewing on toys.  It will be important to have another small dog in Sissy’s forever home so she continues to learn to trust people and build her confidence.  Sissy is not aggressive; she is just cautious when meeting new people and it is important to let her settle in on her timeline.  Once she trusts you, Sissy does enjoy a good rub and likes to join you on the couch.  Now that she trusts us, one of her favorite times of day is when she is allowed up on our bed in the morning with our dogs where she gets lots of love and rubs!  She will lay on top of you and nudge your hand for more rubs.   Sissy doesn’t care to be picked up but if you pick her up, she will allow you to put on a harness and leashes for a walk and she will stay in your lap for some petting.  With patience, time, and the influence of her small furry siblings, Sissy’s confidence has grown daily! Sissy’s sweet playful side shines through every day!  She would be a wonderful companion for another small playful dog.  She currently lives with small dogs and adults.  She is respectful when another dog doesn’t want to play.  Energetic large dogs and small kids make her nervous.  Older respectful teenage children should be okay.  A large dog that is quiet and low keyed should be fine with slow introductions.  A quieter household without a lot of visitors would make Sissy most comfortable.  If you are looking for a sweet, gentle, even-tempered dog who’d love to play with your small dog then Sissy may be your girl.   Everyday she shows us what a wonderful girl she is blossoming into!  It will be important to be patient with her to earn her trust, to have a quieter home with no young kids or high energy large dogs.  Sissy would be fine hanging out in another room with a “safe space” if young kids visited.   A fenced in yard would be the perfect home for Sissy.  Fill out an application, I’d love to tell you about this sweet girl!  Sissy is from Texas.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Arthur is a 1 year old pup who has not previously been exposed to many things so everything is new and often scary to him.   He was raised with his parents and brother so is very dog friendly.  He is curious but very timid.  When scared,  he does not bark or growl just avoids and retreats.  He does much better with a doggy friend by his side and for this reason, he would do best in a home with an easygoing canine friend that can give him a little courage as he learns new things.   He does seem to get anxious at times (will whine or bark if left alone) but much less if he can be following around or snuggling with his dog friends.   He is actually more comfortable with dogs than people but after a week, is now starting to seek out attention from his foster family.  He has done well with considerate kids.  He has met a 6 year old up to teens and does well as long as they approach him gently.       His brain is like a little sponge and he is learning new things every day.   He is working hard on potty training.  He does not know many commands yet but is a smart little guy that should learn quickly once he feels safe in a new home.  Arthur loves being outside lying in the sun or sniffing all the smells but does startle easily at noises and will run away so being secured will be very important.  He is doing well with leash training when he has his doggy friend next to him.   He is just starting to play with toys and loves to chew.    At night he sleeps soundly in his wire crate if he is in the same room with his dog friends.      This little guy is getting braver every day.  He is cute as pie and twice as sweet.   He is looking for a home that can slowly introduce him to all fun doggy things.   He would do best in a home with another easygoing pup that can tolerate some puppy behavior.  He has not been cat tested but with his demeanor, may do well with a dog savvy cat.     Arthur is from a local impound. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. This is Isabel, a 2-year-old female brindle Chihuahua/Rat Terrier mix with a sweet, quiet nature and a love for adventure. Isabel thrives on daily runs, hikes, and swimming, making her the perfect companion for an active person or family. She enjoys playing with other dogs, including larger ones, and would do best in a home with another playful pup. She does not appreciate the company of cats, however. Isabel is leash and crate trained, potty trained, and has basic training. While she's independent and not a lap dog, she loves being close to her person, cuddling, and even grumbling like a human when she stretches. Isabel needs plenty of outdoor time and would appreciate a family that can keep up with her high energy levels. She’ll need a little extra love during thunderstorms, but she’ll reward you with affection, loyalty, and plenty of fun. If you’re an active person or family looking for a spirited, intelligent, and loving dog, Isabel might be your perfect match!   I sabel is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 08/23/2024 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 8:30am and noon. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Cookie Korbut, or Cookies to her closest friends. She is a sweet and goofy pup who loves everyone she meets. This little bundle of joy was found alongside her mom, Smoothie, and her sibling, Mikey, at an abandoned house in Texas. Despite this, Cookies has kept her happy-go-lucky attitude and is always ready for a good cuddle. Cookies is still learning the basics, like sitting on command and potty training, but she’s a quick learner when there’s a treat involved and a consistent schedule. She’s eager to please and loves the extra attention during training sessions.  Her favorite things in the world are mealtime and getting lots of pets and hugs from her humans. She can be a little vocal initially when she’s left in her crate but does quickly calm down. She would just prefer to be with her humans! Cookies would love a home where she has a dog sibling, she enjoys cuddling and playing with other animals. She’s great with people and would make a wonderful addition to any family looking for a loving, playful, and slightly goofy companion.
