Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bella is a 4lb Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix with the most beautiful eyes who has been in rescue for quite some time.  Bella came from an extremely abusive home and has needed some time to recover and learn how to trust humans again.  She is an adorable little dog without a mean bone in her body.  It took a while for us to see Bellas's personality, but she is a funny, quirky girl who just wants to be loved for who she is.  She lives in her own little world and seems happy to do so.  Bella is very easy going and does her own thing for the most part.  She is not much for toys or treats but this girl loves her blankets!  She will bury herself under them all day and night, so much so that sometimes you forget she’s there.    Bella loves other dogs and although not required another small dog in her new home would help her continue to heal.  Bella loves her person once she gets to know them, she loves to give kisses and snuggle on the couch under blankets with you.  Although she has come very far in rescue she is still sometimes nervous about being picked up and the fast movements of children scare her.  We would prefer her to live in a quieter, adult only home.    Bella does well in a crate for short periods, but if left alone for longer, she will use her crate/bed as a bathroom. She is also not pad trained and has frequent accidents in the house. She will sometimes go to the bathroom outside if you take her, but it is really hit or miss with her. She will need someone patient and understanding to continue working with her.    Bella is not leash trained, although we think she can be at some point. For now, though, she will need a secure fence or pen for outside. She does enjoy sitting outside in the sun with her foster mom and the other dogs. Bella doesn’t really know how to play with other dogs, but if dogs are playing, she will bounce around them and bark in a playful manner.    Bella is very loved within the rescue and we want her to have a very special home with someone who understands the breed and how she was treated before.  Bella is loving in her own way and good company.  We have truly enjoyed watching her blossom into the dog she is today and we look forward to her finally getting her happy ever after.   Bella is spayed, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  Her adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sweet Sheldon is a tiny, senior Chihuahua who was recently surrendered to us because his owner could no longer care for him. Sheldon is 14 years old and weighs only 4 pounds. He needs a loving home that understands and can provide extra care for tiny dogs like him. Sheldon is a happy boy who loves to cuddle with his foster mom. He has a habit of sleeping with his butt up in the air, which is quite amusing! Currently, Sheldon is living with other small dogs and getting along well. He has also lived with cats without any issues. Due to his size and age, it's not recommended for him to be in a home with young children. Sheldon uses potty pads in his foster home but also tries to alert you when he needs to go out. He is crate trained but prefers a gated area if he needs to be confined, as he requires access to water. Although Sheldon can walk on a leash, he prefers the freedom of a fenced yard or pen. It's important to note that Sheldon has a grade 5 heart murmur and is on medication for this. He will require ongoing medical care to keep him in top shape! Sheldon is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, flea- and worm-treated, and tested negative for heartworm. He has also had a dental procedure in the past. Sheldon will come with a supply of his medications. His adoption fee is $100, in hopes of finding him a special forever home!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Enrique, also known as Ricky, is all set to go! He is a 7-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua/Boston Terrier mix. His actual age may be younger due to his poor dental health when he arrived but he has since had a dental and feels so much better! Ricky is a happy boy who loves to give kisses. He is a small lap dog and gets along well with other dogs. Ricky doesn't seem to mind the cats in his foster home. He is a good watchdog and alerts his family when something is happening outside that shouldn't be. Ricky is crate trained and walks nicely on a leash. He enjoys being outdoors and takes advantage of the fully fenced yard in his foster home. Ricky does well on car rides and is very happy during Tim Bit time. He is a sweet little dog that will make a great companion. We believe he is going to be a big Bills fan too! Ricky is neutered, up to date with vaccines, microchipped, flea/worm treated and tested neg. for heartworm.  He has also been given a dental when he got to Buffalo.  His adoption fee is $450Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 16, 2024, 2:07 pm

Story
Henry is a senior dog at about 9 years old. Henry is a very loyal pet and can be very loving to an owner willing to nurture him. I took in Henry from someone not able to take care of him anymore due to financial difficulties. Henry was abused and is very leery of people and others. Henry warmed up to me, my husband, and my older kids; but didn’t get along too well with my other two dogs because Henry can be territorial.

Story
For the last four years this beautiful small girl has been my companion. She’s originally from Albany,NY and was a rescue from a very horrific home life. Unfortunately I have not been able to balance between a newborn baby, work, and school for the past 9 months. Her needs aren’t being met the way they used to. She’s a really shy girl and extremely clingy. She takes to older children easily. She’s house trained and will alert you when she needs to go outside. She rarely barks unless it’s a visitor at the door. She’s skittish as well so she needs lots of patience and kindness given to her. My heart breaks having to give her up but I know who takes her will give her the best home. She comes with a cage, two beds, water and food bowl, a harness, two leashes, a book bag and a side bag that I would wear to carry her when walking was too much. Any other questions are information you would like please feel free to contact me.

Story
Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescue@yahoo.com), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet.I have been trying to post this little boy for more than a week and just do not know what to say about his breed.  His mother is an 11 pound, 4 year old Chihuahua.  She was picked up from the streets after giving birth in a field.  I got her and the 2 boys when they were just 1 week old.  They have been in my home thriving greatly. Since momma was out in the streets we do not know who daddy is, sorry.  Bobby is 4.6 pounds and 9 weeks old.  He does favor mom.  He is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Boots.  I have included a picture of mom. They play constantly and love when I let them out of the puppy play pen to play with the bigger dogs.  They run zoomies all around the living room.   These are very very good and loving puppies and should make great family pets whatever they are mixed with. Both boys have had 2 vaccinations and due their 3rd one next week so they will come fully vaccinated, neutered, dewormed and microchipped.  They are too young right now for a rabies. We transport to most state across the country.  Thank you for looking. If interested, please submit an application on our website at www.roxysk9rescue.org     ADOPTION FEE & APPLICATION REQUIRED   Roxxy's K-9 Rescue does not have a shelter, all of our dogs are raised in foster homes.  Each dog comes  spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice.  The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption.  They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative.  ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls.  We will reply to you.  Thank you.         August 18, 2024, 7:41 am
