Hopper is 8.5 lb long haired chihuahua. He is so sweet and just wants to cuddle and play fetch. He is seven years old. We are heartbroken to have to get rid of him but due to our son’s allergies we cannot keep him any longer. He is very low maintenance! Loves to nap! Should go to a home with maybe a retired couple or someone with no kids. He does fine with ours but does not handle other kids well- as he is so small, he nips if a child is a little rough. He is very shy and timid but a complete sweetheart. He likes to bark, though!

ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! MACK is a darling little senior dog looking for a home. This sweet boy is around 13-14 years old and 17 pounds. He is a chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund) type mixed breed boy. Despite his age, little Mack still has plenty of pep in his step and loves to go out for walks. He's an affectionate little fellow who would be happiest as someone's constant companion. Mack loves to carry around soft stuffy toys and REALLY wants to play with his foster brother even though his foster brother is just not interested. Mack needs a little time to warm up to new people. He was adopted from SDHR back in 2013. He and another senior dog landed in a shelter after being found as strays. We suspect his human passed away and he was dumped. He seems to have been well loved over the last 12 years before his life was turned upside down. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Mack is scheduled for a much-needed dental work and his cherry eye will be repaired. His bloodwork looks good, he's a healthy boy other than those two correctible issues. Donors have also sponsored his adoption fee, but a donation would be gladly accepted. Mack seems accustomed to the quiet life. He is best suited to a quiet adults-only home with another friendly dog. If you'd like to meet Mack, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. Mack will not be attending adoption events. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)
