Story
Bambino is full of energy, great with kids and genuinely just loves everyone and all other creatures. He's highly curious and trainable. He loves to run, so a fenced yard would be ideal for him but not a must. I'm looking for a new home for him because my and I both are in the peak of our careers and have little time. He is kennel trained while we are away and sometimes prefers the kennel at night so he knows it's not play time and can rest. We've been feeling guilty about not being able to give him the time, energy, and dedication that he deserves. He is 2 years old, does pretty well being house trained, but needs reminders. He is registered pure breed long hair chihuahua. Up to date on vaccines and I have all of his paperwork. Originally paid $2000, the rehoming fee is negotiable, but trying to offset the costs of vaccs and boarding costs the past couple months for him while we travel for work. RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

This little pretty has not had an easy go of it, as she spent many days in emergency care for Parvo and then some (over $8,000 in vet bills!)  Pretty Girl is healthy now and making up for lost time. She is a petite princess and can sometimes be bossy with other dogs.  She has had some exposure to cats in her current foster home. The cats there do not put up with dog nonsense. She is ready to have all your attention to herself. She can be a little timid and unsure so she will need to have your heart and your time.  Because of her rough past, she can be a flight risk.  She will need a physical 3 foot fenced yard that she cannot escape from and since she is so tiny, their can't be any spaces she will fit through. Pretty Girl is still working on leash training so a secured area will be the safest place to get her used to her new family and a leash.  Just be patient with her and you won’t be disappointed.  Pretty Girl is working on using the doggie door and piddle pads in her foster home. This handsome guy who is now part of our Foster to Adopt Program received so much love in his foster home and learned to trust and give love back. She says he is such a sweetheart! Prince is currently part of DASH's Prison Training Program where he is learning basic commands and puppy manners. His trainer says this little guy loves to play with his toys but also loves being a lap dog in his favorite snuggle position. He is a lot of fun, loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He can be very vocal at times, especially when he sees someone so he would not be the best fit for an apartment. He enjoys an occasional visit on the furniture and can be a little sound sensitive. He can also be protective of his people. At times he will jump on his humans but he's just really happy to be so loved. This guy is a crowd pleaser, so don't wait to turn in an application.  *Note: Prince is part of our Foster to Adopt program.
