Story
Hi I'm Missy,I haven't had the easiest start in life. I'm looking for an adult only home with hoomans that are experienced with dogs. I need a loving and patient family that will give me time to get to know them and trust them. It takes me a bit of time to warm up you see. I haven't been around many people, or experienced different environments, so socializing and going out are all new to me. Given some time and love, I will grow in confidence and relax and become much more comfortable. Once I get to know you I will trust you and love you. I have lived with cats before so would be fine in a home with a cat that's friendly towards dogs. I would prefer a quiet home without other dogs or children. If you have the understanding and patience to give this girl a second chance, please call to come meet me. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 5.3 Age: 7yrs 0mths 3wks

Story
Meet Brissa, a sweet and tiny 10-year-old, 6 lb Chihuahua looking for her perfect forever home. Brissa thrives in a calm, adult household with someone who is home most of the day. She takes time to warm up to men, but once she does, she’s all in with her affection. Still building her confidence, Brissa is head shy and may become skittish when unfamiliar people touch her head. Though she’s okay with older visiting children, Brissa would flourish in a home where she has the space and patience to continue building trust. This little lady has been a star with her housetraining—no accidents since she arrived! Due to an old leg injury, Brissa isn’t up for long walks, so a home without stairs or a family willing to carry her would be ideal. She enjoys 2-3 short walks daily and loves her kibble with a bit of wet food. Brissa is a cuddle bug who will steal your heart with her gentle whines for attention. Her favorite place? Snuggled in your arms or on your lap, soaking up all the love. She’s indifferent to other dogs, preferring those with low to medium energy who respect her space. When left alone, she’s no trouble at all. If you’re looking to spoil a tiny senior and give her the loving home she deserves, Brissa might just be the one for you! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Minty: Your Future Best Friend! About Minty: Minty is a sweet and gentle 2-year-old Chihuahua mix who has come a long way from her days in a municipal shelter. We don’t know much about her past, but her initial fear and distrust indicate she might have had a tough start in life. When she was first rescued, she was shaking and scared, unsure of the world around her. Personality: Minty is a loving and loyal companion once she gets to know you. Although she was initially wary of both men and women, with time and patience, she has learned to trust and even show affection to her caretakers. She is a bit of a shy girl, especially around men, and may take a while to warm up to new people. However, with gentle and understanding handling, she blossoms into a loving and loyal friend. Living Situation: Minty currently lives in a kennel in Turkey, but she’s ready to find her forever home. She can coexist with cats, though she’s a bit timid around them. She would do best with a submissive and calm dog companion if there’s another dog in the home. Favorite Things: Minty absolutely loves her treats! They are the key to her heart and can help in building trust and bonding with her. Ideal Home: Minty needs a patient and understanding family who can give her the time she needs to adjust and feel safe. Because of her fear of men, she might do better in a household with women or with very gentle and patient men. A calm and peaceful environment would be perfect for her, where she can feel secure and loved. Adoption Requirements: A patient and understanding adopter A calm household Gentle handling and care Preferably a female adopter or very patient males Submissive and calm dog companions (if any) Willingness to give Minty the time she needs to trust and settle Minty can fly to Toronto or Vancouver when she finds her forever home! If you think you can offer Minty the loving and secure home she deserves, please apply; https://www.cheers2paws.org/dog-adoption-form

PLEASE READ TROY’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: TROY IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE MILTON, ON AREA We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. NAME: Troy Age: 7 years Breed: Mexi-Mix Sex: Male Weight: 10 lbs Location: Milton, ON Adoption fee: $450.00 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Leash trained: Work in progress House trained: Yes Kids/Cats/Dogs: Yes, dogs, cats unknown, no children Vetting: Up to date on all vaccination, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for Heart worm. Currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention, dewormed and vet checked before arriving. Medical Issues: Blind, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma (tick borne diseases) they have been treated appropriately Comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance (after initial vet visit) Troy is a lovable pup who enjoys cuddling up with his favourite person and foster sibling. He has the cutest ears you ever did see and loves to prance outside to his heart’s content. Troy isn’t shy about asking for pets, as he likes to place his head under your hand to let you know it's scratching time! Due to his blindness, Troy needs a gentle and patient soul(s) who will look after him, one who will give him time to sniff out and adjust to his new surroundings. But once he knows the layout of a new place and all of the smells that go with it, he is ready to enjoy all life has to offer. Troy gets along with new dogs he meets and walks well on a leash. But slow introductions are best as he can be hesitant with new people. Care and patience will help him adjust. However, he has not been cat-tested but does not seem to have a prey drive when out and about. With a face that says love me, Troy enjoys the finer things in life, like his squeaker toys, soft chew treats, and snuggling up on the couch with his human. He is crate-trained and house-trained. A house with a secure fenced-in yard or a spacious condo would be the ideal home for him, one that is quiet and without younger children to give him time to adjust to his new surroundings due to his blindness. How can you not look into his sweet face and see a gentle soul just looking for his rightful place by is new companion's side? If you feel you would be the right fit for Troy, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/. All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety. NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed. BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
