Story
Meet Denver – The Ultimate Cuddle Bug! Denver is the kind of dog who makes you fall in love instantly—just ask his foster mom in Mexico, who knew right away that he was a total sweetheart. Now in Canada, he’s proving to be just as lovable! This little guy is all about the snuggles and will gladly accept all the pats, belly rubs, and cozy naps you have to offer. He’s a champ on the leash, walking calmly like a seasoned pro (as long as there are no puddles—those are clearly suspicious). Snow, on the other hand? No problem! Denver gets along just fine with other dogs socially but would prefer to be the only pet in the house. He also has strong opinions about squirrels, though we suspect the squirrels started it. Cats are also a little too much like squirrels so woios not be good in his home. While he’s mostly a laid-back kind of guy, Denver does have occasional bursts of excitement—think joyful zoomies and some enthusiastic pant-leg nibbling. He’s still figuring out this whole "toys" thing, but he’s discovered the joy of chewing on a small bone, so we’re making progress. As for house training, well… let’s just say Denver needs a bit of a schedule. He knows outside is an option, but sometimes those small rugs just look so inviting. With consistency, he’ll get the hang of it. At bedtime, Denver is all about the cuddles and prefers to be very close to his person. He might even insist on spooning. Personal space? Never heard of it. Denver would do well in a home with or without other pets, as he’s easygoing and doesn’t cause any drama. His foster family will keep an eye on him for any new quirks, but so far, he’s proving to be an absolute gem. Denver is currently accepting applications, that his foster family will review. If you’re looking for a snuggly, slightly quirky, and totally lovable companion, he just might be your guy! Denver is being fostered in Richmond Hill. ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
Meet Howie! Since arriving in Canada, Howie has shown that he is a total sweetheart—gentle, a little shy, and full of potential! While he’s still figuring things out, his playful and curious side is starting to peek through. Like any good chihuahua, he loves burrowing into a pile of blankets or snuggling up with his humans on the couch. He’s got a great appetite and has a special fondness for liver treats! Howie is still adjusting to the chilly March weather—one minute he’s happily trotting along, and the next, he decides he’s had enough and needs a royal escort .His adopters will need to help him build confidence on walks and keep a close eye on his little nose, as he’s quite the scavenger. He’ll also need to bundle up in cozy sweaters and jackets until he gets used to Toronto’s colder climate. Since he’s a delicate little guy, he prefers a harness over a collar for walks. So far, Howie seems to be potty trained! He’s had only one small accident and isn’t in a rush to get up in the mornings—perfect for someone who loves to sleep in! He has been happily snoozing in bed with his foster family, all wrapped up in cozy blankets. Loud city noises (like big trucks and sirens) can startle him a little, and he’s still deciding how he feels about bigger dogs. While he coexists well with his foster's small pup, he hasn’t initiated play yet. Toys also don’t seem to be on his radar just yet, but with time and encouragement, that may change! So far, Howie hasn’t barked at all, and the only little grumble he’s made was when he was snuggled up with his foster and their dog got a bit too close—he just loves his people and wants to keep his cuddle spot safe! Through his entire journey from Mexico to Canada, Howie was a perfect travel companion—quiet, calm, and easygoing. He is going to make a wonderful addition to a patient and loving family who will help him grow in confidence, shower him with warmth (both emotional and literal!), and enjoy every adorable moment with him. Howie is currently being fostered in Toronto and is waiting for his perfect match! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Story
Quick Facts Name: Ogok Age: 1.5 years old Gender: Male Neutered/Sprayed: Yes Breed: Chihuahua Mix Color: Black & Brown & White Weight: 3.9kg All About Me Hi, I’m Ogok! I’m a lively and affectionate one-and-a-half-year-old Chihuahua mix, weighing 3.9kg (8.6lb). I may be small, but I have a big personality and an even bigger heart. I love meeting new people and dogs, and I’m always excited for my next adventure. I’m looking for a home where I can get plenty of love, playtime, and care as I prepare for an important step in my health journey. My Personality I’m incredibly friendly and social—I love being around people and will happily come up for pets and cuddles, even if we’ve just met. I enjoy being the center of attention and will lean in for affection whenever I get the chance. My playful and curious nature makes me a joy to be around, and I’m always eager to make new friends. Social Skills With other dogs, I’m just as outgoing as I am with people. I love greeting both familiar and unfamiliar dogs and will often invite them to play. I haven’t been around cats before, so I’m not sure how I’d react to them. When it comes to food, I don’t mind people being near my meals, but if another dog gets too close while I’m eating, I might give a little growl to let them know I’d like my space. Energy and Activities I have a high energy level and need plenty of exercise and playtime to stay happy. Running, playing, and going on walks are some of my favorite things. Once I’ve had enough activity, I can settle down and relax, but I thrive in a home that can keep up with my enthusiasm for life. I’m great on a leash and don’t pull, making me a fun and easy walking companion. Health and Special Considerations I was recently diagnosed with Grade 3 patellar luxation in both knees, and I will be undergoing surgery soon. My future family should be prepared to help me through my recovery and ensure I get the care I need to stay comfortable and active. My Ideal Home  I would love a home where I get plenty of attention and engagement. Since I love both people and dogs, I’d be happy in a household with another friendly pup, but I can also thrive as the only dog as long as I get lots of love and playtime. My ideal family would be patient and understanding as I go through my surgery and recovery, helping me regain my strength so I can continue being the energetic and happy dog I was born to be. Special Notes I have a huge personality packed into a tiny body! I love people, enjoy making dog friends, and have a zest for life that makes me a joy to be around. With my upcoming surgery, I’ll need a bit of extra care, but once I recover, I’ll be ready to run, play, and love with all my heart. If you’re looking for a small dog with a big spirit, I might be the perfect match for you. I can’t wait to find a family that will love me as much as I’ll love them! ##2308670##

Story
Breed: Chihuahua MixAge: 6 yearsGender: Male (Neutered)Size: Small, Approx. 10 lbsAbout Sully:Sully is a resilient, intelligent little guy who has made incredible progress since joining our shelter family. While he initially struggled with fear-based behaviors, including aggression and resource guarding, he has shown such growth through patience and positive reinforcement training. Sully is a smart boy who is already mastering leash communication and verbal cues. Although he’s still building his confidence, he’s becoming more comfortable in new environments and learning to trust the world around him. He thrives in calm, structured settings where he feels safe and secure, and his loving personality continues to bloom as he forms deeper connections with his human companions.Ideal Home:Sully is searching for a quiet, patient home with a dog owner who has experience with fear-based behaviors and is ready to continue his journey of growth. He would do best in a home without young children or frequent visitors, as he can be fearful of unfamiliar faces. Sully would prefer to be the only pet in the household, as he has had negative experiences with other dogs in the past. A consistent routine and structured training environment will help Sully build the confidence he needs to shine.Training and Skills:Sully has been making wonderful strides with his training! He’s learned basic obedience, walks nicely on a leash, and responds well to verbal commands like “sit” and “stay.” He is crate-trained and housebroken, and with continued positive reinforcement, Sully will only keep improving. As he builds trust, he is becoming more confident in his new surroundings.Favourites:Sully loves his cozy blankets and finds comfort in a soft spot to rest. He also enjoys small training treats, which help reinforce his positive behaviors.Dislikes:Sully can be wary of unfamiliar people and situations, which is understandable given his past experiences. He is protective of his belongings, including food and toys, and may show resource guarding tendencies. He also prefers not to interact with other dogs and is happiest as the only pet in his home.Health Information:Sully is neutered, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and in good health. He’s ready to find a patient, loving home where he can continue to blossom into the happy, confident companion he’s meant to be.Adoption Fee:$495 – This fee inclu
