Story
Meet Brissa, a sweet and tiny 10-year-old, 6 lb Chihuahua looking for her perfect forever home. Brissa thrives in a calm, adult household with someone who is home most of the day. She takes time to warm up to men, but once she does, she’s all in with her affection. Still building her confidence, Brissa is head shy and may become skittish when unfamiliar people touch her head. Though she’s okay with older visiting children, Brissa would flourish in a home where she has the space and patience to continue building trust. This little lady has been a star with her housetraining—no accidents since she arrived! Due to an old leg injury, Brissa isn’t up for long walks, so a home without stairs or a family willing to carry her would be ideal. She enjoys 2-3 short walks daily and loves her kibble with a bit of wet food. Brissa is a cuddle bug who will steal your heart with her gentle whines for attention. Her favorite place? Snuggled in your arms or on your lap, soaking up all the love. She’s indifferent to other dogs, preferring those with low to medium energy who respect her space. When left alone, she’s no trouble at all. If you’re looking to spoil a tiny senior and give her the loving home she deserves, Brissa might just be the one for you! ••••••••• As my foster family gets to know me my profile can change and will be updated accordingly. Check back often for details! An application for me can be found at www.justpaws.ca. Just Paws is located in the Greater Toronto Area of Ontario, Canada. We do not adopt out of province or country. Please note that although many of our dogs get along with children, we are not able to adopt to any household with kids under the age of 8 years old. This is a stipulation of our insurance and is not a reflection on suitability of the potential adopter.

Story
This sweet little bean is another survivor of a puppy mill and he is ready to learn what it means to live a "dogs life"!Ricky was born with a slight malformation in one of his hind paws. It does not slow him down or affect his mobility in any way. In spite of his difficult beginning, he has blossomed into a happy,.and well socialized little pup. Although he is well-mannered in the home and is not at all destructive, his foster mum does recommend he is crated when left on his own for more than an hour or so, as he is still a puppy and does look for minor mischief when he is bored, like unravelling toilet paper etc. He is also happy to sleep in his crate at night, and is doing exceptionally well with housetraining. It is important that as soon as he is awake though, that he is taken outside to go to the bathroom, as again, he is still young and mastering holding his bladder!Ricky shows little to no signs of separation anxiety, and though he may bark once or twice when left alone, it is not excessive and can be managed by giving him something to do, like a Kong toy with a few treats inside to occupy him.Ricky would love to have another dog in his forever home, and he loves to play and make friends with other well socialized canines!Though he is not a flight risk per se, he is small enough to be easy prey and therefore we would like him to have a secure fenced yard for his protection. Please note only those applications received through our online portal at www.K9C.ca will be considered. Successful applicants are chosen by best fit, not first come first served and due to the high volume of applications we receive, only those we feelwould be a potential match are contacted. Thank you.

Story
Meet Jiminy! He may be small in stature, but this little warrior has been through hell, surviving life in a backyard breeding operation, where he suffered a badly broken jaw and received zero veterinary care until we took him in.Jiminy must have suffered terribly, as he was barely able to eat, and shied away from human touch for so long, likely due to the unimaginable pain he was experiencing. As a result, he was smaller than his sibling Ricky who we rescued at the same time, Since having his jaw wired back together, his healing journey has begun - both physically and emotionally. First, he began to show a real interest in food. With pain well managed, he started to eat and put on weight at last. It took a little bit longer for him to trust humans, but he is slowly starting to put his uncertainty behind him and seek out affection and touch.Jiminy is now well on his way to bright and happy future ahead...all he needs is a forever family who will love him unconditionally as he learns to leave his difficult beginning behind him. He is dog friendly, and well-mannered in the home. He is just now learning how to "play" and show an interest in toys. Housetraining remains a work in progress. He will use pee pads and also goes outside, but still has the occasional accident. Leash skills are difficult to gauge at this time due to his uncertainty with the big scary world outside, but given his young age, it is likely something that will improve with time and patience. He tolerates kitchen sink bubble baths, and has yet to accept treats. He does have a sensitive tummy so i is best he stick to his current diet as he transitions from foster to forever home.Due to his very small size, a home without very children (10+ only who with small dog experience). We are looking for a forever family with a small to medium sized well-balanced canine who can help Jiminy build confidence with behavioural cues.Jiminy also has a hard time with stairs yet, so ideally a home without a lot of steps would be best for him. Jiminy also struggles with stairs so a home without a lot of steps would best suit his needs. Please note: only applications received through our web page at www.K9C.ca can be processed. Successful applicants are chosen by best fit, not first come first served.Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only those we feel would be a potential match are contacted.

PLEASE READ TROY’S BIO IN DETAIL TO ENSURE THAT HE WILL BE A GOOD FIT FOR YOU AND YOUR LIFESTYLE BEORE APPLYING. PEASE NOTE: TROY IS BEING FOSTERED IN THE MILTON, ON AREA We at All Paws Matter believe in the benefits of post-adoption training for our dogs and their families. This allows for continued socialization, learning and helps to create a well-mannered and balanced dog. This is now a requirement in our adoption process. Proof of training classes for puppies specifically is required before adoption. NAME: Troy Age: 7 years Breed: Mexi-Mix Sex: Male Weight: 10 lbs Location: Milton, ON Adoption fee: $450.00 Spayed/Neutered: Yes Leash trained: Work in progress House trained: Yes Kids/Cats/Dogs: Yes, dogs, cats unknown, no children Vetting: Up to date on all vaccination, sterilized, microchipped, 4dx tested: negative for Heart worm. Currently on flea/tick/heart worm prevention, dewormed and vet checked before arriving. Medical Issues: Blind, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma (tick borne diseases) they have been treated appropriately Comes with 4 weeks free pet insurance (after initial vet visit) Troy is a lovable pup who enjoys cuddling up with his favourite person and foster sibling. He has the cutest ears you ever did see and loves to prance outside to his heart’s content. Troy isn’t shy about asking for pets, as he likes to place his head under your hand to let you know it's scratching time! Due to his blindness, Troy needs a gentle and patient soul(s) who will look after him, one who will give him time to sniff out and adjust to his new surroundings. But once he knows the layout of a new place and all of the smells that go with it, he is ready to enjoy all life has to offer. Troy gets along with new dogs he meets and walks well on a leash. But slow introductions are best as he can be hesitant with new people. Care and patience will help him adjust. However, he has not been cat-tested but does not seem to have a prey drive when out and about. With a face that says love me, Troy enjoys the finer things in life, like his squeaker toys, soft chew treats, and snuggling up on the couch with his human. He is crate-trained and house-trained. A house with a secure fenced-in yard or a spacious condo would be the ideal home for him, one that is quiet and without younger children to give him time to adjust to his new surroundings due to his blindness. How can you not look into his sweet face and see a gentle soul just looking for his rightful place by is new companion's side? If you feel you would be the right fit for Troy, please fill out an adoption application at https://www.allpawsmatter.ca/apply-to-adopt/. All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety. NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed. BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!

Good with dogs,
Story
Introducing the darling Jennifer, a petite 2-year-old Chihuahua-Jindo mix weighing in at a delightful 10 kilograms. This precious pup has quite the story to tell, having been rescued from a kill shelter alongside her precious puppies. Jennifer is what you might call a "people person" in the canine world. She adores meeting new friends and welcomes them with open paws, allowing even strangers to lavish her with pets and cuddles. In fact, she's quite the social butterfly and doesn't mind being carried around like the little queen she is. And oh, don't even get her started on belly rubs – she's practically an expert at melting hearts with her irresistible display of a soft, fluffy belly begging for attention. Having been a devoted mom to her puppies, Jennifer has learned the art of sharing and getting along swimmingly with dogs of all shapes and sizes. She's a true peacemaker, always opting for a calm and collected approach when there's a sniff of conflict in the air. Whether it's a boisterous playmate or a gentle giant, Jennifer is all about spreading harmony and love in the doggy world. When it comes to cats, Jennifer's curiosity might pique when she spots a stray feline on her walks. But fear not – her focus remains firmly on her trusted handler, ensuring that she stays on track and doesn't get too distracted by those mysterious creatures with whiskers. Now, Jennifer may tend to pull a bit on the leash when she's overcome with excitement on her adventures. But fear not, for she quickly settles down once she's had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of her surroundings. And as for those tear stains? Well, it seems that chicken might be the culprit, but a little TLC and a carefully tailored diet will have her sparkling like the gem she truly is. This charming canine companion is seeking a forever family who can shower her with plenty of love and affection, along with a dose of tranquillity to match her serene disposition. If you believe Jennifer is "the one" for you, please don't hesitate to reach out to her devoted team. She's ready to sprinkle your life with endless joy and puppy kisses! 🐾 To see more videos:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OhJGCgsllwY&list=PLIsLTtIpe3JxsglforEc1FTB9vABc7T-8
