Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas)

This is Buddy, and he can't wait to be yours! Buddy is a sweet young Chihuahua mix that started life off as a feral, until he was caught by a sweet and loving foster. Buddy got the good life after that! Spoiled with treats and given so much love he's developed into a great dog. He's a very friendly boy and does great with pretty much everyone. He would do best in a household with an active family. Buddy does tend to bark at smaller animals so he would do best in a household that doesn't have farm animals or other small pets. Dogs and cats he is fine with, though he has not had much experience with cats. Buddy would do well paired with another calm and confident dog. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX)

Game of Thrones fans??? Here I am, the KING!! And I SHOULD BE! Look at me!! Cute has NOTHING ON ME! Viserys and his siblings came to us after being found under a pile of lumber at a job site. 999 degrees outside and these pups were ALL alone and starving and scared. Viserys was very shy but has come out of his shell with fun and food. Still a little reluctant but warms up quickly and will be your best friend!! He tries to keep up with the other dogs, his little legs work really hard. Yes he is a LOWRIDER!! It may be hard to tell with his pictures but YUP, he is low to the ground and he carries it well :D He is a Super cuddler! He just melts into your arms. Warm heart big hugs. Plays very well with big and small dogs. Timid when big dogs come right at him but he can dodge them pretty well. Then goes in for more. Doing well with potty training. Doesn't mind being by himself or with others. Very easy going. READY HIS FUREVER HOME!!! He is a little scruffy faced too! Now, two of his siblings had their DNA's done by adopters and as you can see... CHIHUAHUA?? and CATTLE DOG??? YUP! We call it STREET MIX because so many dogs roam and mate in SA :(:( but it does make an interesting match. He will likely be about 40# on a lowrider frame, must love cute and unique pups to adopt him!! Local adoption fee is $250 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $550 (includes transport to your area)

Hello my name is Bridgette, and I am not your typical chihuahua. I am blind and so I can be fearful of new situations. I am potty trained so I will wait for you to take me outside and bring me back in. I love being outside as I can see more shapes and I get excited when I hear you calling me close to you. I like being carried. My foster mom puts in a crate at night with my water and food so I can find it easily. I am super gentle and easy to care for. I am a very quiet gal and would love to live with someone I can sit with and be petted or go outside in the garden. I would enjoy being pushed in a doggy stroller. I get along great with all animals and people. I was dumped near a bridge which was just so scary, but now I am ready to find a forever home with someone who will keep me close to their side. Hello hello everyone, my name is Dainty... small, elegant, feminine and adorableness galore! I'm around 2 years old and come in at about 7lbs. While I do attach myself and love my person will all these 7lbs I'm not the biggest fan of those unknown persons and will need a little encouragement when meeting new people. FYI...I do love my treats which is a great motivator! I do well with other pups and have even done well with the resident dog savvy kitty. I would do great in a home with a 4 legged 'sibling' or just as great getting all your attention as your one and only! But I would prefer a more quiet home without small children, maybe even where my person works from home or is retired. I am kind of scared of the leash and will need some slow introductions to being comfortable to go on neighborhood strolls. I will make a great companion and the greatest of confidantes from heart to heart conversations to keeping all your secrets. From my adorableness to my sweet (for my person) nature, I'm ready to be all I can be....will I be YOURS?!! Fill out my adoption application found at haydudeequine.org

Story
Hi there! My name is Leroy and this cow print guy with me is my brother/best friend Patches. We are two year old chihuahuas. We came to Pet Search by no fault of our own. Our parents were elderly and could no longer care for us physically or financially. We love running in the fenced in yard with our foster-siblings and snuggling on the couch with everyone. Our foster mama says our puppy-kiss attacks make her day. We also don't mind the kitties in the house. We are potty trained outside as well as pad trained. We are trying to work on our leash skills since we never had those prior to coming to Pet Search. We are extremely frightened of cages/crates but are perfectly well behaved in a room closed off with a gate if you give us something comfy to lay on. We love long naps in the sun too. We are figuring out what toys are and really enjoying tugging and fetch. We are a bonded pair but if you give us a chance and a little patience we will be your best snuggle buddies for life! Story
Hi there! Leroy and Patches checking in! We are still available and waiting for our forever family. In the meantime, our foster mom and dad have figured out a lot of stuff by getting to know us better. We are bonded brothers who came to PetSearch by no fault of our own. Our original parents no longer could care for us due their age and health. We love to run free in a fenced in yard - we are weirded out by collars, harness and leashes (foster mom has tried everything- she can wrestle a collar onto us and walk us about 5 min until we back out of our collars) so a fenced in yard would be best for us. We would love someone who's home most of the day but short times alone are just fine with us too! We love our foster brothers/sisters and kitties but crave more attention than we get here since we have to share with a lot of them! We want most of the snuggles, love, and attention. We would be best in a house with no other dogs - but We are good with other small dogs as long as they aren't confrontational. Patches wants to be the boss and protects Leroy with all his brotherly love - these two are inseparable and will snuggle and play all day with each other and with humans, but they're couch potatoes at heart. Our foster mama says our puppy-kiss attacks make her day. We are scared of cages for long periods of time but ok for a couple hours, a closed off room is perfect for us but you've gotta leave give us something comfy to lay on. We are outside and pee-pad trained with the occasional accident (chihuahuas have small bladders) we are good with children 10-up and like a calm environment as we get worried and worked up with new surroundings and noise - Due to this, Previous chihuahua experience preferred but all are welcome to apply. We do come on command and most times will stay when told to. Leroy catches treats in his mouth and will try anything for food! If you give us a chance and a little patience we will be your best snuggle buddies for life!Apply for us at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/PAPS/Dog KL#03301 Washington PA 15301

Story
Little Rosie is settling in to the shelter life after her owner couldn't care for her anymore. She is a sweetheart, and will make a great chill buddy for any quiet home. With her wiry coat and beige and white coloring, you can see the JRT influence in her breeding, but she is immediately recognizable as a chihuahua. Rosie is a diminutive 13 lbs. and a little chubby at that, but she will be getting plenty of outside walks being as adorable as she appears to be and that forlorn look in her eyes will fade away.
