Story
Please contact Vivienne (viviennejames@comcast.net) for more information about this pet.Little Lucky is an 11 year old 11 lbs little gentleman who had the unfortunate luck of finding himself in a rural Arkansas shelter.  Not only is he an older gentlemen this poor little guy is blind.  Just imagine how scary that must have been.  He was there for a few days before Miss Sabra was made aware of this plight.  A foster was found in Arkansas and now Lucky is saved from the shelter.  Now he is in Tennessee looking for his forever home.  This little guy is a delight.  He is good with other dogs and he LOVES people.  Lucky gets around just fine once he has figured the house out.  He likes nothing better though than to be in the chair or on the sofa with you.  Actually on you.  He loves to cuddle and is a great little companion.  Lucky is comfortable in a crate and does not mind sleeping in one but he would like to be in the same room with you.  He will also ride in the crate while you do errands as long as it is not too hot or cold.  Lucky does his business as soon as his feet hit the grass and will use a pee pad if you are not home.  To help this great little guy please contact Vivienne at viviennejames@comcast.net or 615-943-7311.  Thank you for considering helping this little guy!!  APPROVED APPLICATION AND ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.August 19, 2024, 1:19 pm

Story
Rodney is a very curious, mischievous little guy who gets into everything, just like a little puppy. They say this guy is around 8 years of age and weighs 12 pounds, but he acts like a kid and he shows it by running a lot out of pure joy and fun and he adores being outdoors and laying in the sun. He is not good on a leash yet and is not housebroken but we are working on both. Cats are not welcome in his world at this point because he finds them strange and annoying.  But he redeems himself with a family by loving to cuddle and snuggle.  Can you believe that underbite he has?  I mean it is the first thing you sort of notice about him.  It might make him look tough but Rodney is a 'softie' through and through.  He is just an adorable, sweet pup and he deserves a much better home than the hoarding conditions that he came from.  Maybe you want to help him see the blessings of a new home and secure lifestyle.  He will make you laugh, he will make you smile and he will make you feel loved!  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested in giving him a forever home.  Please tell us the city and state that you live in when you write to us. PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 1:19 pm

Story
Silver Sam is 5 years old and weighs 12 pounds.  Part of a big hoarding case, he was taken to the shelter and there he sat for a few months.  Critter Cavalry Rescue could not stand the thought that he was in that out of the way shelter where no one comes to adopt a dog.   We pulled  7 dogs from that hoarding case and some had been there for 6 months.  Sam is a hoot as they say.   He is funny and active and must be watched if in a chain link fenced yard.  He might find an escape route and take off just for the fun of it.  He doesn’t go far but he sure does love the chase.  He is good with other dogs and he is full of antics with the cats.  He is almost housebroken and he is just the most loving lap dog ever.  Such a great smile and attitude despite some terrible conditions in his previous life.  He is with someone that loves the Chihuahua breed and understands all the little quirks.  He really has not bad habits except the fun of occasionally making a run for it just to see you panic.  Just a little Houdini in his spirit to have some fun.  If you are interested in this guy please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com Tell us where you live   and what city and state.  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Rusty is a handsome petite little 10 lb 1-year-old Chihuahua mix that was taken from an abusive family using a 2x4 to correct him when he was not doing what they wanted. All he was doing was trying to get attention for some love and affection that they did not have to give him. So he was punished in a physical and abusive way. Despite all of this this little guy bounce back with expectations from the foster mom who rescued him. His expectations were for her to love him like he had never been loved before and that is what he has been getting. This little guy is housebroken friendly with other dogs and cats as well. He is demonstrating a little bit of a back-end sway that we've had x-rayed and his spinal L2 has a slight deformity and has created this special little walk. Seems that he was born with this slight deformity.  It doesn't stop him from being active or in any pain. This little guy needs a home to call his own and we suggest that he not be crated for 9 hours since he will protest loudly. He's great on walks and running around with other bigger dogs to play with. If you were interested in this darling boy please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.  mention what city and state that you live in since we transport northward and post our dogs and cats in 10 states outside of Tennessee where he currently is fostered ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
My name is Princess Poppy and I am looking for a great home that can let me run and play and snuggle and grow up to be a 15-20 pound adorable Chiweenie girl. I currently weigh 5 pounds. I was born the first  of April to a wonderful momma named Gina.  She is a Chiweenie herself and she came from an overcrowded home with lots of dogs who were not spayed or neutered.  My litter of 8 and Momma Gina were taken by Critter Cavalry Rescue from the small town shelter that we landed in.  I have been well taken care of and I am so much fun and adorable kisses await you.  I am ready to go to a new home on 7/12 and I hope that Critter Cavalry Rescue finds me the perfect active family and maybe some children too for me to love on.       Email at ccrnewengland@gmail.com   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Hi everyone!  Critter Calvary is looking for a quiet, adult oriented home for this precious little girl we call Teacup Penny. She is 4 years old and is a 6 lb Teacup Chihuahua who was raised with her family since she was a puppy. Just this past year she has made her desire known that she is not a fan of the very young children that she lives with. She wants a calmer environment and wants her own personal mom that she doesn't have to share with young human children.  Penny is a delightful girl who likes cats, other dogs and older kids, and of course all adults. She has been spoiled rotten and she definitely believes she's a Princess.  She knows she is pretty and has a wonderful wardrobe to show for it. Her mom adores her but knows that her young children and Penny together, do not make a harmonious home environment. If you would love to make Penny your very own, and can give her the peaceful lifestyle where she can be the Princess in your castle, please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Tidbit is a teeny 10lb senior little who in incredibly sweet but does have a laundry list of medical issues including dental disease, luxating patellas, Heartworm, and has a 4/6 heart murmur. He is a very sweet little guy who LOVES to play with other dogs so would do great in a home with another one. He doesn't seem to mind the size of the dog, and seems to want to play with whatever size is in front of him, but another dog seems to really help Tidbit acclimate to his surroundings for sure! We have learned that Tidbit does have storm anxiety but we have some good meds to help him with that! He also visited the vet June 24th and we know that we will be able to neuter him and give him a good dental after he goes through Heartworm treatment, and we also learned that his heart is not yet enlarged so yay for that! He will need to have x-rays every 6 months to check on that progress.  Bonaparte's Retreat will be more than happy to take on the costs for his care.August 16, 2024, 11:06 am

Story
Little Maggie is an adorable little doll who is pretty new to Bonaparte's Retreat but we already know she tolerates other dogs but will let them know when they've invaded her personal space (Good girl Maggie! You tell 'em!) but she likes to be held and to doodle around the yard and to chill in her cozy bed. Little Maggie does need a dental which we have scheduled for the second week of September but if she is with her new family before then BR will continue to pay for that! She also may have some allergies or skin issues from a previous flea infestation before she came to us so we are helping her out with that with some special baths and allergy meds but this may not need be something she has to be on long term which is good!August 16, 2024, 11:06 am

Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 6 years old we think. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. She noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I have worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy is giving me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I get the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. Because of the medicines that I am taking to kill the worms in my heart, we are looking for a forever home in the San Antonio area so I wouldn't have to travel so far. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas)

Story
Meet SONNY BOY Sonny is a five-year-old small breed mix who is full-grown at 25 lbs. His DNA tests say mostly Pomeranian and Chihuahua with a bit of Dachshund. But like many small dogs, he struggles with possessive behavior in which he “lays claim” to a particular resource, typically a specific toy or the attention of his favorite human. He's a snuggle bug who is happy to be your lap dog - but also needs to be active and kept occupied. He requires a patient, strong, and experienced small and possessive dog owner. Sonny is the loyalist of loyal dogs to his people. But he has struggled with being rehomed and his resource guarding has escalated due to all of the changing in his environments. For this reason we are committed to only placing him in a home that is well aware and experienced with managing resource aggression behaviors.   This little guy loves nothing more than snuggling up on your lap and soaking up some attention. In fact, Sonny is the perfect lap dog - if you're okay with him laying claim to your lap as his own personal resource. But don't let his small size fool you - Sonny is also full of energy, sass, and needs to be kept active. He's an intelligent dog who loves to learn new tricks, but he can also be a bit of a handful. He has a bite history that is manageable and connected to dogs toys, but requires a patient and experienced owner who is willing to put in the work to manage his resource aggression behaviors and provide him with an environment that won’t trigger these bad behaviors.   Sonny was picked up as a stray in Gulfport, Mississippi, and after making his way to Nashville, TN, his x-rays revealed that he has a shotgun pellet that healed near his pelvis. We are only rehoming Sonny to quiet homes and do not include children or frequent visitors because, in his previous home, Sonny developed a reputation for snapping at strangers. This sweet dog is not at all aggressive towards strangers or children as a rule. In fact, he's very fond of strangers and is quick to claim visitors as family. His favorite person in the world is his vet! He simply has a charming but very dominant personality and  becomes temperamental and territorial when threatened and he’s overly protective of his belongings. Experienced small dog owners will know this Chihuahua personality trait well and Critter Cavalry is requesting that adopters commit to a toy-free home for the first 3 months so that Sonny is setup for success with regard to his resource guarding tendencies.    Sonny Boy happily lives with dogs of all sizes and ages and is an excellent companion to dogs of his size in particular. He’s a good wrestler and is respectful of his companion’s meals. No cats because he barks and scares them. He loves to play and treasures the attention of his family. He is house-trained, leash-trained, and knows basic commands. He enjoy’s being vocal but is mature enough to be corrected when barking excessively. There is a lot of sweet personality and attitude packed into this adorable dog. The ideal owner for Sonny would include a quiet household. With or without a companion dog as long as the companion dog is submissive. A fenced-in yard is a plus - but not required as long as this social boy gets his regular activity. Sonny does get regular visits to the dog park but requires an attentive owner because dog barks frequently have lose balls which can easily trigger his possessive tendencies.    If you're up for the challenge, you'll be rewarded with a lifelong friend who is fiercely loyal and always ready for a good time. Middle-Tennessee only.  Please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Learn more about Critter Cavalry and request an adoption application at CritterCavalry.com. ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Contact ccrtennessee@gmail.com.August 19, 2024, 1:19 pm
