Deku is a 4 year old Chihuahua mix that also participated in National Dress your Dog Day today.According to his surrender sheet he is good with kids and other dogs. Housetrained.He was so friendly in the kennel with me outside. Good in his leash and went back into his kennel easily.Available dogs are met by appointment only and pre-approved adopters ONLY.Our dogs are currently in a foster homes which can answer your questions better than anyone else. We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Meet Sunflower! 🌻 This poor sweet girls’ mom is in hospice now and no longer able to take care of her. Unfortunately no family members would take her in and instead chose to surrender her to the shelter. Luckily another rescue was there and offered to find a rescue to help her, so we agreed. Sunflower is very unsure of what is going on right now, but her foster mom is helping her through it all and she is doing ok. She is around 7 years old and weighs around 15 pounds. She will need a calm, adult only home since that’s what she’s used to. She may be spayed, but we are going to double check. Her vetting is scheduled for 2-25, unless we can get her in sooner and verify she is fixed. She will be spayed (if not already), updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested, and if heartworm negative started on preventative. The adoption fee is $150 to an approved and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. Hello, my Name is Percy, it's short for Perseverance. I am a 7 year old Chihuahua, I am spayed and current on all shots. Sadly I tested positive for heartworms, so I was started on treatment. Treatment almost killed me so I am taking a safer route. I am in rescue because I was found by a sweet woman who was house sitting. She said I was quite the survivalist. Nobody had ever seen me before. I was gathering everything I needed out of someone's garage and taking it back to a flat bed trailer that I claimed, I even had some yummy cat food I have NEVER known humans to be nice and gentle so when the man came to trap me I was soooo scared. The man turned out to be safe he even brought me to rescue. I have been here a long time being worked with. everyone has shown me that humans are good and loving. I will need a patient and understanding adopter who will allow me some time to adjust. Once I trust you I am the sweetest silliest girl. I am a goofball who enjoys company and soft beds. ##1736828##
