Story
Adoption Area: East Tennessee Riblet needs: -Professional belly rubber -Patient owner who will give me time to warm up to you -Children over 12 -Calm and quiet home -If there is a cat in the home, needs to be a dog-savvy cat as he may chase Hi, I'm Riblet!! I am an adorable 3 yr old, 11 lb male Chihuahua mix and I somehow became homeless. Luckily, Small Breed Rescue was able to bring me in and I'm hanging out in a foster home waiting for my forever place. My foster mom tells me I'm pretty perfect but new owners will need to be patient and give me time to get comfortable. I think 3-6 hours should be enough! Within a week you will see my full, happy, goofy self! I love to play fetch by myself or with you and snuggle on the sofa during down time. Foster mom is teaching me all sorts of things about being a good boy. Things like not marking my spot in the house and sleeping in a crate. We also are working on more fun things like tricks. I'm a smart guy so I'd love someone to teach me more! Oh, did I tell you I love going on car rides?! I do! Foster mom takes me to the hardware store and we even have gone to the mountains. I hang out in my crate and keep quiet when she drives too fast! I also just learned that I think hiking is pretty cool! Foster Mom says she is super impressed with me! If there are other dogs in the home, I am probably not going to play or be their best friend. I am rather indifferent to dogs as I am more focused on my person. Now for those not so perfect things about me.... I can be a little wary of strangers and sudden movements so my new parents will have to work on my confidence. Because of this it would be best if there were no small children in the home. I LOVE to chase cats!!! This might be okay if you have a dog-savvy cat who will bop me on the nose but it's definitely not okay if your cat doesn't like pup-arazzi up in his space! I can embrace my Chihuahua side and bark along with the rest of them if something needs to be barked about! I might not be a good fit if you live in an apartment. The vet says I have a slippy hock on my rear leg. Sometimes you will see me hold my leg up when I walk. There is not a fix for this but it really doesn't bother me — just the way I was born. I’m neutered, microchipped, also up to date on my vaccines, flea and heartworm preventions. My adoption fee is $175. Don’t forget I’m looking for a professional belly rubber. If you think this could be you please contact my friends at SBRET.com and I could become your new best friend.

Story
Adoption Area: East Tennessee Mulberry needs: -Active household -Children 10 years and older -Secure fenced yard Hi, I’m Mulberry, a 5-pound, 2-year -old female spayed Chihuahua Boston Terrier mix. Let me first say that I’m an active girl and expect an active family. I am not content just lounging on the couch. I like to be on the move either playing with my human or other playful dogs. My foster mom says I’m the hungriest dog she’s ever met. I am VERY food motivated and have been known to even get on the kitchen table to steal fruit and veggies! My foster mom says I get plenty of food but I think I should have more! So my new family would need to stick to my current feeding schedule and not give in to my sad eyes or I will become overweight which is bad for my health. I get along with other dogs and even cats (just keep that litter box out of reach or I’ll find snacks in there too). Older dogs do not appreciate my high energy so younger playful dogs are best for me. I can also fly over baby gates when there is something I really want on the other side. My foster mom says that I might make a good agility dog due to my abilities! I’m still learning to walk on a leash so a fenced yard is preferred. I sleep in a crate at night without a peep and ride well in a car. I am a bit skittish meeting new people but once I warm up to you I’m your best friend. I’m a silly happy girl that will keep you laughing and keep you on your toes! If you think you are up for it let my SBRET friends know. I have been spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccines and heartworm/flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175.

Donut, the female Chihuahua/Jack RussellAge: Around 1 year! Why I'm a 10/10: I've been called Miss Congeniality! Of all the little dogs around the shelter, I haven't needed to "come out of my shell" or warm up to anyone because I'm already there! I love to kiss, cuddle and play! Quirks & Fun Facts: I was in an interesting housing situation that involved me and several other canine roommates, so other dogs shouldn't be an issue for me!
