I’m approximately 2 years old and a male. I have a beautiful white coat with soft tan makings and soft brown eyes. Everyone thinks I’m a Chihuahua mix with a little bit of Italian Greyhound because I have long elegant legs. I weigh just under 12 pounds. I’ve been in foster care for a little bit and I’ve learned so much! One is that I can get along with dogs that don’t get in my face. If they do, I will growl at them. I’ve learned that I love playing with the young Chihuahua mix here and running to my heart’s content in the fenced yard. If you have another little dog near my size, I’ll need some time to realize that it IS fun to have a playmate. There are cats here in my foster home and when they get near me, I growl at them and I’ve chased them a little. The cats here have lived with foster dogs and usually don’t pay us (fosters) much attention. So I’ve learned that I can co-exist with the right cat(s). I’m good at alerting to noises outside, so I would not be a good neighbor if you live in an apartment or condo. I’m working on a walking on a leash and I do my “duties” (house training) outside. I love my foster mom and love to hang out with her and watch TV. I love my food and look forward to my meals. My ideal home would have room for me in the big bed (but I do sleep as quiet as a mouse in a crate), a fenced yard and a warm and loving lap. I ride great in the car curled up in the seat. I like to go along for the ride to Lowe’s, Home Depot, or other dog-friendly establishments, I want to be your buddy! I’m up to date with my vaccinations, neutered and on heartworm and flea prevention. My adoption fee is $175. If you think I might be the right little guy for you, please fill out an application! I came into rescue as a stray and the local shelter called SBRET to help me. My skin was a bit of a mess at that time but after receiving help and advice from The Itch Clinic, I am much happier with some affordable allergy food and a Cytapoint shot every 3 months. I am a people loving boy. I will do my best to keep other dogs away from us. Seriously, I don’t like other dogs. I’m no fan of cats either. And while I’m at it, skip the kids as well. No wiggle room on this. 🙂 My best day is a long, active walk and then some cuddling on the couch. After lunch we could have a potty break (I’m rock solid in this department!), play with my toys and then maybe a car trip around town. Doesn’t that sound like a cool day to you?! I’d like a real dog walker by the way. Someone strong enough to keep me close in case we see a dreaded dog along the way. For being such a people loving dog, I am remarkably slow to warm up to new people. I am so worried and anxious that it could take 3-4 days for me to relax in a new home. I come with a set of instructions from my foster parents on how to care for me during this time. But, it never fails, the lightbulb goes on and it’s all love and snuggles!! Taco is neutered, microchipped, current on vaccines and on heartworm and flea prevention. Taco’s adoption fee is $175.

Adoption Area: East Tennessee Tidbit needs: -Active adult home or one with children over 10 -Someone home part of the day to continue house training (doing well but not perfect) -Someone surefooted because he likes to be right under you around the house -No large dogs or rambunctious cats Hello my name is Tidbit. I am a 4-year-old, 7-lb male Chihuahua mix with a beautiful brindle coat! I came to SBRET through a veterinary office who found me as a stray. They took care of me while they treated my heartworms and then my foster mom picked me up. I’m a sweet, quiet guy who really likes to hang out with my people. I’m friendly with strangers and I’ll alert when the mail man comes to the door, but otherwise I don’t make much noise. I walk pretty well on the leash and enjoy a good long sniffy walk when it’s not too cold out. I also like to be carried. I like snuggling in a warm bed or lap with a cozy sweater on, but I can also be quite busy following my people around the house or playing enthusiastically with my toys. I sleep quietly in my crate in my foster mom’s room at night without a peep, but I’m sure I’d love to sleep in the big bed if my new family will let me. I’m still working on house training but I’m doing pretty well if I’m taken out often and watched closely. I do ask to go out but I’m pretty quiet so my cues are very subtle. When I’m left alone during the day I stay quietly in my crate or playpen in the living room. My foster mom puts me up because I’m still house training. Once I master that, my foster mom thinks I’d be fine left out and about where I would just find a bed to snooze in until you came home. I get along just fine with other small dogs but large dogs scare me so no large dogs in my home please. I can also get along with cats who kind of keep to themselves and don’t get in my face, but if they get in my face, they scare me too! Gentle children over 10 years old should be just fine. My first car ride was very long and I got a bit car sick because I was so nervous. My foster mom is pretty sure I’ll learn to love the car with a slow introduction and a lap to sit on. We’re working on sitting in the car and getting lots of treats while I snuggle in my doggy booster seat with the engine running. The next step is practicing trips just around the block. Although my heartworm treatments are done and I am as heathy as a horse, my new family will need to have me tested in about 4 months to be absolutely certain they are never coming back. That is standard procedure and nothing to worry about! I have otherwise been cleared by the vet. I have all my teeth and they were freshly cleaned. I am neutered, up to date on shots, flea and heartworm prevention, and ready to find my forever home! My adoption fee is $175.

My name is Annie! I am an active, smart 3 year old 10.8 lb female Chihuahua (possible MinPin) mix. I was surrendered by my owner for possible seizures. Turns out, I was having seizures, but the fine folks at SBRET know how simple that is to fix. Their vets put me on Phenobarbital twice a day and my seizures are now controlled. Phenobarbital is super affordable too. I take my medicine in a pill pocket with no problem at all. My new people need to be committed to giving me my medicine twice a day to keep me happy and healthy. See, easy peasy! I’ll be honest, I was pottying in the house when I first came to my foster home, but I am a very smart girl and my foster people have taught me that pottying in the house isn’t something dogs should do. My potty training is going very well as long I go out regularly. There may be some backsliding when I first get to my furever home, so I will need someone home part of the day to keep my potty training on track. I walk well on a leash too. I ride well in the car. I sleep in a crate at night in my foster parents’ bedroom but I imagine I would love to be snuggled in the big bed with my people too. I do not like being in a crate when my foster people leave the house though. It upsets me and I cry. My foster people have discovered I do better out of the crate and I even stopped having accidents while they are out! I love to run at top speed in the fenced yard and get my zoomies out. I like playing with all the toys in my foster house and even play fetch with them. I am very food motivated and could probably learn all sorts of cool tricks and good behaviors with someone with the time to teach me. I get along fine with the other dogs and cat in my house most of the time, but I will guard food. I love to snuggle next to my people on the sofa too, but I lap guard my humans from the other pets and my foster people are working on that with me as well. I respond very well to verbal corrections as well as praise. I absolutely LOVE my Mister Man (foster dad)! I follow him everywhere. He is the apple of my eye. My foster mom is cool too, but when my Mister Man gets home, I am beside myself with joy and am very vocal about it. I am a vocal little lady, I will talk back to you when you talk to me and I will sing along with you if you sing to me. I’m fun! No cats please. I am spayed, microchipped and up to date on my flea and heartworm preventatives. By the way, I cannot take oral flea/tick prevention due to my seizure history, I have to use the topical varieties. I am also up to date on my Rabies, Distemper/Parvo and Bordetella. My adoption fee is $175. I am a super smart, high energy little lady looking for her active furever people.
