Belly is a female dog with a heartwarming and playful personality. She is very friendly and gets along with almost everyone she meets. Belly is especially affectionate and gentle with children. She loves giving kisses and receiving lots of attention and affection in return. Belly is an intelligent dog who is loyal to her family. She can be a bit funny at times, but always has her family's best interests at heart. She loves to play and run around, but also knows when it's time to relax and cuddle up. Belly would be a great addition to a family who is looking for a fun-loving, affectionate, and intelligent dog. We don't know if Belly gets along with other dogs, so she would do best in a home where she is the only dog. Belly is an adult dog, but she has a playful spirit and loves making new human friends. Meena was taken to the Mesquite Shelter and was pregnant. Her baby was born in the shelter. When we got her she was untouchable and bity. Thank goodness she is now in general population but still cant be touched. Her baby really helps in getting her near. She is very close to her baby, Tiny, and looks to her when she gets uncomfortable. Therefore they will be adopted together. Meena and her baby Tiny has been with their foster since Tiny was born. Tiny is very socialized, but her momma isnt there yet. They can be adopted but will be adopted together, with the understanding that Meena is still a work in progress. You have to be ok, with knowing at this moment you cant really hold her. She will take treats out of your hands, she will sit and stare at you, she will even lay at the foot of your bed. We will require another dog in the household along with these two. When its time to be vetted, you will have to capture her, unless she is further along, to crate her and get her to the vet. She can not go unvetted because you cant catch her. Part of the package. This will require a very special person or family.

Story
Chunk came to us as after his elderly owners were not properly caring for him. He was close to 30lbs when he came to us. He has been on a weight loss plan which consists of only getting dog food twice a day. He can not eat people food anymore. And he is now 20bs! Despite being a big boy, he is quite active. He loves running around outside and uses the dog door to go in and out. He is very friendly and gets along with other small dogs, but he will bark at cats. His new family will need to continue feeding him correctly and exercising him. He can live a long healthy life with proper care as he is only 7 years old. He is neutered, microchiped, and vaccinated.

Story
Pixie came to us as an owner surrender. Her family had her since she was a puppy, but at 12 years old, they had to give her up due to hardships and unable to care for her. Pixie had a huge mass on her neck. It was benign, a large cyst filling with fluid. Unfortunately Pixie also has a grade 3 heart murmer, so surgery was a little risky, but a necessity for her to be comfortable. We got her cyst removed, and she also had 17 teeth pulled. Once all of the infection was out her her body, Pixie was a new dog! She is more active and friendly. She is happy and healthy. Even though she does have a hear murmur, she is not in heart failure. We know with a home filled with love that Pixie can live a long and happy life. Pixie is spayed, microchiped, and vaccinated. She is 10 lbs.

Story
Mochi came to use from a shelter where he was not doing well in that scary environment. He was brought in as an owner surrender, and was not trusting of strangers. He is doing amazing at his foster home and couldn't be more of a snuggler. He is the sweetest little guy (once he trusts you). And wants to be next to you at all times. He does not do well in a crate, as he does get seperation anxiety, but his foster family is working on crate training with him, making it a positive place not a negative one. He gets along with other dogs and doesn't bother cats. Because he is fearful of new people, we do not think he would be good with smaller children. He needs a new family that is patient and understanding. Once he knows you, he will be your best friend forever.

Rocky came to us with 2 other dogs as an owner surrender. Rocky is an alpha dog and lets everyone know it. He loves to be outside and play with his squeaky toys. He is a protector that is also very cuddly. When he came to us he had horrible skin issues due to flea allergies and he also had heartworms. He underwent procedures and is now healthy and heartworm negative.
