Chikis has been patiently waiting for his forever home for a long time, and he’s ready to find a family who’ll appreciate his charm, loyalty, and quiet companionship. Though he takes a little time to settle in, Chikis will blossom into an affectionate and devoted companion with just a little patience. He’s looking for a calm, quiet home without children where he can relax and enjoy life at his own pace. Chikis’s Ideal Home: -A tranquil environment with patient humans who understand his need for space -A family willing to respect his boundaries, especially when he’s enjoying downtime in his bed (he can get a little grumpy/snappy). No one likes having their nap disturbed! While Chikis may show a touch of grumpiness if startled from his relaxation, he more than makes up for it with his kisses and kind-hearted nature once he feels secure.     Home for the Holidays - Reduced Adoption Fees if Adopted by January 10th!  I'm Chopper Joe and I am such a handsome boy, but very skittish! I was surrendered to an amazing rescue with my friend and he was adopted - happy for him and totally okay being separated. I was adopted once, but returned after being bitey and not settling in.    My foster mom has been working with me and she says that I am still pretty skittish, but becoming more brave everyday. I won't let her pick me up, or pet me very often, but I'm learning that those things aren't so bad. I will run up to her and give her hand kisses, steal her warm spot on the sofa, and take treats and food from her hand.   My ideal home is safe and secure with a fenced in yard, no kids, and patient parents that understand I am still a work in progress. I like other dogs, but don't have to have a dog friend.
