Story
Holly: A Senior Dog Full of Love (and Second Chances) Imagine a dog who greets every day with a wagging tail and a joyful hop, even at 15 years young. That's Holly! This gentle soul may be a senior, but her heart overflows with love and a zest for life. Holly's foster mom calls her a "precious baby" for a reason. She's calm, affectionate, and loves nothing more than snuggling by your side – she's earned the title "shadow" for a reason! She enjoys leisurely walks and naps in sunbeams, but her biggest joy is being your companion. Life hasn't always been easy for Holly. After losing her canine companion, she experienced some separation anxiety. Her previous owner felt a new home might be best, and that's where you come in. Holly came to us with a big obstacle – a large mass that made even simple tasks (going to the bathroom) difficult. Thankfully, the 3.5lbs mass was removed, and with a little TLC, this brave girl bounced back. Sure, recovery had its moments, but Holly's fighting spirit shone through. Now, Holly is ready for the next chapter – a loving home where she can spend her golden years. She thrives on company and would love a home with someone who's there for her most of the time. Walks, cuddles, and adventures – that's Holly's dream retirement package. Could you be Holly's perfect match? If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will fill your days with sunshine and snuggles, then Holly is waiting for you. Don't let her golden years go unnoticed. Fill out an adoption application today and give Holly the loving home she deserves. (Adoption applications can be submitted at [https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd] for Ms. Holly, currently fostered in Olney, MD.) Holly is 25lbs and considerably healthy given her age. We prioritize homes within 60 miles of Silver Spring, MD, but fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered! P.S. You won't regret opening your heart and home to this amazing senior pup

ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Mercy, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Lady. One of the children in my former home became severely allergic to me so the family asked CSAC to help find me a new home. I am a happy and friendly. I even like cats. I love to play with toys, go for walks and ride in car. I am house trained and crate trained. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. I do have a few medical issues that need managed, but they are not serious. I have dry eye so I will need eye drops, I do have hypothyroidism so I need a daily pill to help my thyroid. It will also help my fur grow back normally. I have ear infections that are being treated as well as skin infections. I will need quality food that will not flare my allergies. You can see in my pictures that I love people and love belly rubs. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Freddie. My owner had to go into long term care and could no longer take care of me so he asked CSAC to help find me a new home. My dad use to dote on me. He would take me everywhere with him. I love car rides and walking on a leash. I do have a bit of separation anxiety. It makes me pace, whine and pant when I am left alone. I love to eat cucumbers and carrots in addition to my dog food. I need a new person who can be with as much as possible like my Dad did. I do have a grade 2 heart murmur, but it is not big deal. My ears do need to be watched for ear infections. I am house trained, but I don't give a signal so it is best if I am walked or let out regularly. I do know how to us a pad if needed. I am friendly, laid back and good with everyone. I LOVE bacon strips. I don't like if dogs scare me, and I will bark back. I need to be in a quiet home with an older couple who will give me lots of attention and love me the rest of my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy.
