Story
Meet Buddy, Buddy is a 1.6 year old Australian Cattle Dog blend. He weighs 63 pounds. Buddy is Participating in our Adopt From Home program, here is what his owner has to say about him,"Hi, meet Buddy! He is a Heeler Mix and as loving as can be! He is the most loyal dog I have ever seen and loves to be included in everyday activities. He has been a blessing to have as a sidekick but unfortunately, I'm going to have some work changes that won't allow me to see him as often as I should. So hopefully he can become your new sidekick! I adopted the dog about 5 months ago from West Valley Humane Society, very little is known about him such as age and breed and is primarily a heeler mixed with another breed. He has been great around all people but does not seem to like other male dogs at first. After acclimating him and another male dog together they did fine but at first, it seems they don't wanna get along. He has done great with female dogs though! He knows basic commands like sit, lay down, shake hands, stay, and roll over and he does amazing in the house! He does not like to be left alone though. He has gotten used to the outdoor kennel I have for him (which I'll give to you if you'd like it) and whenever I have to go somewhere that's where he stays. Overall he has been a great dog to have around and know someone will love to have him! Please let me know if you'd like to come see him, he'd love to see you! My number is (707)-951-4670"Buddy will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We do not know how he will do with cats.Buddy is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered, and ready to go home today. If you are interested in meeting Buddy, please reach out to Tanner at (707)-951-4670

Story
Meet Darrow, a male, 5-year-old old Australian Kelpie Mix. He weighs 40 pounds.Back in 2019, we had a pregnant dog arrive to the shelter. The next day, she gave birth to 5 puppies, one of them being Darrow! He spent two months in foster growing up, and once they were ready, he went up for adoption and found a home! We had not heard anything about him after that, and recently, he arrived here as a stray. We tried to get in contact with his owners multiple times, but to no avail. It also seems as though Darrow has not had the best upbringing, being malnourished and having sores on him upon arrival. We are not sure what his life has looked like these past 4 (almost 5) years, but we know that Darrow deserves the best. Darrow is an active and loving dog who will thrive on consistency and structure. He loves peanut butter and toys. He will play fetch with a tennis ball as long as you throw them! He'd love to work on his basic obedience training so he can become the best pet he can be! Darrow will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along.
