Story
*Pippi cannot go home until she's been spayed. She can still accept visitors and applications while we wait for her to be fixed!* Meet Pippi! This pretty lady is estimated to be around 7 months old. She was surrendered to HSoP in search of a home that can better suit her needs. Pippi has a very timid exterior, and it takes some time for her to fully trust and feel safe around someone new. Once she sees you as a friend, Pippi finds great comfort in her human companions. Pippi is gentle and easy-going with people but her shy exterior leads her to be a bit jumpy or easily startled. She's highly treat motivated (most n' meatys are her decided favorite) which should be helpful for training. At just around 7 months old, Pippi is full of potential! She's growing and learning everyday, and the sooner she gets herself into a loving home, the sooner she can build up her skills and become the amazing dog we know she can be. Sweet Pippi just finished up a nearly two-month-long battle with ringworm, and she's more eager than ever to find a loving forever home! Pippi's ideal home would have no cats, a yard for her to play in, and an owner who can spend plenty of time by her side. She's extremely loyal. Pippi is usually pretty quiet indoors, but does like to practice her voice when she's outside. To our knowledge, Pippi has not spent any time around children. She previously lived with a cat, and the two did not get along. We're recommending a home with no cats at this time, but can't say how she would do with other dogs. We require all adoptable dogs to meet any canines in the home prior to adoption, and we offer a seven-day foster period to help determine a good fit. Pippi will be spayed, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped with her new owner's information by the time she leaves HSoP. Her adoption fee is $135. If you're interested in getting to know Pippi, come pay her a visit! Our dog kennels are open 2:00-5:00pm Monday through Saturday with no appointments needed.

Story
Meet Bertrand! Bertrand was found running around Main St in downtown Moscow and was swiftly taken to HSoP. Without any pet ID to go on, we tried our very best to track down his owners. Unfortunately, an owner was never located and Bertrand was never claimed. No worries though, now he's on the hunt for his loving new forever home! We estimate Bertrand to be around 3 or 4 years old. He seems pretty affected by the loud and stressful environment of the dog kennels, and acts like a completely different dog when he's outside, away from the constant noise. Inside the kennels, Bertrand barks loudly, jumps, and doesn't show the truly sweet dog that we've come to know him as. When he's outside on his own and can spend time with people one-on-one, the true Bertrand comes out to shine. This happy boy is strongly treat motivated and will eagerly sit when asked. We aren't sure if he knows any other commands, but he's incredibly smart and would likely pick them up in no time. As a border collie mix, Bertrand has a fair load of energy to burn each day. He'll need not only physical exercise, but also mental enrichment to truly thrive. Bertrand would appreciate daily walks or access to a secure outdoor space to he can run around to his heart's content. For mental enrichment, Bertrand would do well with having a job to focus on. Other forms of mental enrichment include slow feeder bowls, snuffle mats, frozen treats, sniffing games, and much more. The internet is full of fun enrichment ideas to keep him occupied during the day! Bertrand can be pretty affectionate with his human friends. This isn't immediately obvious inside the dog kennels, but when you're outside with him, Bertrand will come right up and try to give you "hugs". Despite how much he loves people, Bertrand doesn't appreciate his canine neighbors at HSoP. We aren't sure how he would do in a home with other pets, but we do offer a seven-day foster period with each adoption and require all dogs to meet any dogs in the home prior to adoption. If you would like to meet Bertrand, we encourage youth visit him at HSoP Between 2-5pm Monday through Saturday. No appointment needed! Just stop by when you have some time. We're located at 2019 E White Ave Moscow, ID 83843. Bertrand will be neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped with his new owner's information by the time he goes home. His adoption fee is $135.
