use this address to fill out application https://form.jotform.com/210294151347046 3 Years 74 lbs Fostered in SE Michigan Fenced yard required This handsome boy is ready for his forever home where he can settle in and get all the love and attention he deserves. Pauly was found as a stray and spent some time with animal control until he was liberated by CRGI. This charming boy has a gentle disposition and a heart full of love. Pauly is a true snuggle bug. He thrives on being close to his people. He enjoys playing fetch although he might need a little reminder to bring the ball back! He loves balls, stuffed animals, and chew sticks. At times he has bursts of energy, especially when welcoming guests into the home. Pauly knows several commands including sit and shake, and he has good recall. He walks well on a leash; however, he does get very excited when he sees other dogs and people. He just wants to make new friends! He's smart and can be redirected with treats. He will need some leash reactivity training. He gets along well with other dogs. However, he chases cats, so a feline free household is a must. Pauly needs a home where his new family will give him time to settle and relax. A home where someone is with him more often than not is best. He is very trainable, and food motivated. A family that understands his need for closeness and can provide him with the comfort and stability he craves would be perfect. If you're looking for a loyal and loving companion, Pauly could be the perfect addition to your home. Give this sweet boy a chance, and he'll reward you with endless affection and devotion.

Story
10 Months 38 lbs Fostered in Illinois Fenced yard required Holly is a sweet and playful 10-month-old collie. She doesn’t just like other dogs; she LOVES them! Nothing makes her happier than running and goofing around outside with her foster brother. She requires a fenced in yard for all of her playful energy, but she also needs it because she doesn’t always come when called, and she is easily startled by new or unexpected noises. Holly is a sweet, friendly girl but not a Velcro dog or a cuddler. She is very happy to see her foster parents when they return home and is content just to be near them whether hanging out or resting. Holly also enjoys gentle interactions with new people. Although exuberant and joyful when running and playing with the resident dogs, Holly is easily frightened by household noises, unexpected sounds, and sudden movements. She will bark and display fearful behavior. Her foster parents met with a trainer and have been working on acclimating her to new sounds and on confidence building activities. Training is going well since Holly is very food motivated and loves treats. She requires a patient family that will take things slowly and continue working with her. A calmer household without children plus a confident, playful canine companion would really benefit Holly. She has the typical regal appearance and sweet gentle nature of a collie all wrapped up in a petite fluffy package. She tips the scale at a whopping 38 pounds! She is the perfect size for any household. Holly is a beautiful puppy who just needs someone who will nurture her, love her, and help her live her best life. In return, she will always be happy to see you and, in typical collie fashion, will alert you when trucks or strangers are passing by. Who could ask for anything more? If you think you could be Holly’s special someone, complete the application.

Story
Hi, I'm Jill! Thanks for checking me out! I know my cute face is hard to resist, but here's the scoop: I'll need a lot of your time and attention as I grow up into the amazing adult dog I'm destined to be! I'm looking for a forever family that will help me with socialization, training (yes, that includes house training!), and plenty of exercise. And let's not forget the chewing and teething-I'm still learning what's okay (and what's definitely not okay) to put in my mouth. So, be ready for some puppy-proofing! Don't forget those vet visits! I'll need to stay up to date on my boosters and vaccines, which means a few trips to see my favorite vet in the first few months. But trust me, all that effort will be worth it when you experience the endless love, puppy kisses, and pure joy I'll bring into your life. So, if you're up for the challenge and the fun, why not come meet me in person? Stop by during our adoption hours. For more details, email info@ahconnects.org or give us a call at 847-697-2880 x: 0. The friendly folks here will be happy to answer all your questions! Can't wait to meet you and start our adventure together! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Looking for a fun-loving bundle of fluff? Puppy might be your perfect match!About 2-years-old, this chow/collie/golden retriever mix is a charming boy who loves a squeaky toy and a romp with his canine friends. Puppy is always ready to bring a smile to your face. Now let’s talk about treats, Puppy is a big fan (I mean who isn’t?) and will be sure to win you over with his adorable `please give me a snack` eyes. It takes Puppy a little time to really trust the humans in his house but patience & a pocket full of treats will definitely help.Puppy would love for his forever home to have a fenced in yard and a canine buddy though he does like a nice walk and is working on his leash manners. If you’re looking for a sweet and playful friend, Puppy might be the one for you. Story
My name is Durango, and I am a handsome, active pup looking for a family to love. My happy place is wherever you are! Other dogs are super fun too, though I might be a little energetic for a shy canine sibling. I’ve never met any children but I’m a pretty friendly fellow. If I get bored and I haven’t had any playtime, sometimes I nibble on things that aren’t mine. But, I’m happy to focus on something else if you redirect me. Squeaky toys and antlers are my favorite things to chase and chew on. I got the first bath I can remember the other day - yuck. I’ll have to get used to that. My foster family says I’m very smart. I’m quickly learning several commands, and I almost never forget to go outside to potty. I’m a good boy in the crate at night or for a few hours during the day, and I don’t bark unless I hear a loud, scary noise. Do you like running? My foster family thinks I would be a great running or hiking companion because I have a lot of youthful energy and I’m very good on a leash. I also am really enjoying games called “fetch” and “tug.” After play time, I could enjoy a whole evening of snuggles and belly rubs. The couch looks really cozy, but I’m not allowed up there so I like napping on the floor by my humans. Do I sound like your kind of guy? I’m excited to meet you. We’re going to have a lot of fun together. Interested in adopting this dog? Story
Chance, a stray found in Louisiana, is a big, lovable boy! A smooth-coated mix, he has one blue eye and one brown eye. Chance enjoys playing with other dogs and lives with two Italian greyhounds at his foster home. He's good in the car and loves people! Chance is a big sweetie. If you’re looking for an all around friend that will make you smile and laugh, Chance is your guy. He LOVES car rides, walks, toys, tug, and fetch. For a BC he is moderate to low energy. After a half hour play he is the sweetest cuddle buddy one could ask for. He plays well with other dogs and would do well with a K-9 companion and in a home where he can get his daily walks in. He knows basic commands and is learning more. He does well with cats and is initially a bit shy around new folks but quick to warm up. His playful nature will make anyone smile and lighten up anyone’s day. He is the perfect balance of fun and cuddles and will be his new families very best friend. Why not take a chance with Chance?! He has sit, down, shake, learned. We will work on leave it next. He’s smart. Took him to the high school tennis courts today I stead of our hike and played ball. He had a blast! Story
Laika is 36 lbs and 3-4 years old. This sweet girl loves chasing and often retrieving balls in the house and outdoors. She loves to sniff around off-leash in a fenced back yard. Turn on your garden sprinkler and she will be entertained and exercised. Laika initiates belly runs and gives kisses to her foster mom as a thank you. Laika is more dominant than Layla and has a strong herding drive, so we recommend a home with no children, cats or small critters. She's a little nervous meeting new people and dogs, which we are working on. Laika is spayed and fully vaccinated. She will need a fenced yard and an experienced handler with a strong understanding of the breed and a willingness to provide lots of exercise and tennis balls. Story
Falcon has come a long way since we first met her. She is really starting to show her personality! She takes everything in stride but definitely is cautious about new things. She has to trust first and know that her people will take it slow, she looks for guidance/reassurance. Her rehab is coming along wonderfully. She is using her back leg more and more (instead of bunny hopping). Learning the stairs was a piece of cake and we go very slow so she uses the back leg. Her fur has almost fully grown back in where she had the surgery. She enjoys massages on the back leg after we do a good workout. Falcon loves to go for walks and does excellent on leash. She enjoys sniffing around and exploring. She is very observant of her surroundings and will let you know what she may see that you cannot. For example when walking at night, she will often see other walkers or animals in the dark and alert us before we even see them. She has met kids 8 and older and has done fine with them, especially taking treats. She is very gentle when taking treats. Some favorites of hers are walking, petting, a good stuffed Kong, chews, cheese and a good nap. She loves her orthopedic bed but will also choose her crate to nap in as well. Falcon enjoys having other dogs around. A confident, sweet, bottom of the pack dog (like Easton) is what she prefers. She would not do well with one that would challenge her. She likes to mouth, wrestle (restricted right now to short interactions) and play tug. The best way to describe her is an "old soul". While she is only in her 3's (best guess) it was a hard start and she seemed to have aged a bit. She is still learning how to be a dog but each day we see a little more about who she is! She is a hard one to capture photos of as she is very serious when "thinking" but once she lets her guard down, that's when we see her smile and relax. Falcon is currently being fostered with Easton.....check out his story as well! Falcon is a beautiful red/white Border Collie who is part of the Lucky 13 rescued from a hoarding situation. From what we know, a pack of dogs was running loose on the property and at times they would beat each other up pretty severely. When she was rescued, her back right leg was "locked up" and she didn't use much of it. We had a FHO surgery done on her to give her comfort and the mobility she needs. Each day she is putting more and more weight on her back leg. Falcon is a very very sweet girl.....once she gains your trust. She is wary at first and doesn't necessarily like fast movement as she will scurry away. Once she does trust, she likes the attention, especially ear rubs and body rubs. She can easily fall asleep with the attention. Falcon walks well on leash and enjoys her time outside while we are out there. I would say that she is pretty much house broken (not one accident since she has been here!) We are not sure how she is with other dogs. She is being fostered with Easton and they share the same room but are separated by gates and also can go nose-to-nose at times. She is fine with him. We have not yet introduced her to others while she is recovering from the surgery. We suspect with the right match, she would enjoy a dog pal or could live alone and enjoy her person all to herself. She is looking for a person or family who understands the needs of a dog who has had a rough start and can focus on how to give her the space she needs to grow but gently teach her how to be a dog. She has not been cat tested. Not suitable for a condo or apartment setting. More to come as time progresses. Please see Falcon and his friends at our web page. https://www.midwestbordercollierescue.org/alldogs Location: Northern Illinois Contact: team@midwestbordercollierescue.org
