Macey is a beauty and a head turner with that defines the word fluffy dog. This 5 year old, 70 pound glamour girl is a Collie/Shepherd mix. She wa previously living with her humans on a farm and it was the most perfect life. A serene life where she lived on a farm nestled in the mountains of East Tennessee that offered her days of running in grassy fields, making friends with a few horses and having no cares in the world.  Macey’s human Dad passed away suddenly, and her human Mamma  is not in good health.  Her Mamma cried when she surrendered Macey to our rescue, but we promised to find that perfect lifestyle and serene setting again. Our best guess for Dan’s breed mix is that he has st bernard and collie along with other breeds. Though we don’t believe he will be a large dog, he certainly has the personality of a st. bernard— gentle, loving, affectionate, calm, and lively! He is great with people, dogs, cats… just everyone!! He is potty trained and crate trained. He needs work on leash training. Dan is low to medium energy and would fit into many lifestyles! He loves attention and affection, and will be devoted to his family! He would make an amazing addition to any family!

COURTESY POST PLEASE READ THOROUGHLY Meet Kip. He is a big, rough collie weighing 85 lbs. who will be 4 years old in May. He is a professional counter surfer and tailgater who believes everything should made into a game. Kip’s motto is a “tired dog is a good dog”. He thrives on tongue dragging games of fetch and long hikes in the woods. He loves to play with other dogs but he can sometimes overwhelm his playmates. Playmates his age with lots of energy and excellent doggy social skills with an owner that knows how to que him to disengage would be perfect. Kip must have a person who has strong and consistent positive dog training skills that can help him reach his full potential. Kip would make a good go anywhere and do anything companion if given the chance. He craves interaction with his person. Kip was abused as a puppy and unfortunately learned that the only way he could protect himself was to defend himself. He does have a bite history. His new owner or family cannot and should not physically “punish” or “discipline” him in any way. Absolutely no children. Kip is very food motivated which makes him very easy to train. Amazingly he has no food aggression or resource guarding. He is not destructive when left in the house and does not have any separation anxiety. He might “mark” in a new home and he can get a bit “nippy” and “yippy” when excited like herding dogs can and he needs continued training to keep “all 4 on the floor”. Like all dogs, Kip thrives on a quiet, stable homelife with a predictable schedule. He is happiest sleeping near his person. The following are non-negotiable requirements: Kip requires a home with another young, active, large dog. A place with lots of land no neighbors and a fenced in yard is a must. You must own your own house and be within 3 hours of central Vermont. If interested please go to www.journeyanimalrescue.org to submit an application. Only once the application is approved will a meet and greet with all human and canine family members be set up. Adoption fee is 450.
