Hi! I'm Brownie, a 7 month old Australian Cattle Dog mix. I came to the shelter with my sister, but she's been adopted already. I'm in a foster home and doing great. I'm a great player and would make the best family pet as I get along well with all! Take me home so I can be your baby... If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). I'm Maise, your future best friend. I'm a bundle of joy, full of playful energy and smart as a whip! I'm brave and independent, but don't let that fool you, I'm also as sweet as can be. I'm looking for a home with a privacy fence, it's just my preference. I love older children, they understand my playful nature and I can learn so much from them. I do prefer to be the only pet in the house, I like all the attention on me! I promise to fill your life with laughter, love, and loyalty. Adopting me means gaining a friend for life! Oh did I mention, I just finished a 7 week training program where I earned my certificate of compleation. I know how to come,sit, stay, down, leave it and many more tricks. Hi there! I'm Bindie, a gorgeous 2 year old Australian Cattle Dog mix. I'm special needs as I am near completely deaf, so I will need to be leash walked or a fenced yard. I'm the perfect size, weighing at just 35 lbs and I won't get any bigger! I am a bit particular about my canine and feline friends, so the shelter reccomends a home without other animals. No worries, as I am the main star of the show, right? I do good with all people though, so more love for me! I'm also deaf and can't hear, but I still love to be around people and want all the attention. I was found with a gnarly injuriy but thanks to PCHS and the vet clinic, I got all cleaned up and I'm on the road to recovery.  If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to request an appointment to meet me.
