Story
Riley, thought to be born in January or February of 2015 is a tricolor, smooth coat, collie/border collie mix with some brindle markings on his legs. He has experienced 2 failed adoptions. He was adopted from us when he was about 6 months old and was returned to us 3 years later when the male member of the adoptive family, who had Alzheimer’s, became abusive toward him. In time he began developing his self-confidence again and began to lose his fear of men. Even though he was still somewhat leery of men he didn’t know, he would actually seek attention from men with whom he was familiar. He got along well with the dogs in his foster home but he behaved aggressively toward any new foster dog that periodically come in. He is not good with cats as he showed aggression toward the clinic cat at our vet’s office. Riley was adopted a second time, but after a year of trying different techniques to manage Riley’s difficult behaviors his second adopter felt that she could no longer handle him and once again Riley was returned to us. He left us weighing 55 pounds and returned, markedly overweight, at 78 pounds. He is now back to a healthy weight of 55 pounds. Riley has had extensive training. He is quite smart and learns quickly. He rides well in a car and walks well on a leash unless he meets a dog while out on the walk, in which case he will pull and act aggressively. Riley is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, is heartworm negative and is being kept on heartworm and flea and tick prevention to maintain his good health. Riley is currently in Arkansas. His adoption donation is $415 which includes the $1655 transport fee. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application, please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in

DAISY IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED!     This gorgeous gal with the stunning smile is Daisy. She is a Collie mix, with shiny soft fur. She’s supper sweet, but timid at first. Once she knows you are okay though she will presently roll over and present her belly for rubs and pets. She gives her foster mom kisses all the time. She’s smart and wants to please, but the shyness holds her back. But it’s getting better. She sleeps in a crate all night. Daisy is house trained as well. She is not crazy about a leash, so we are still working on that.  Daisy is great with every dog she meets, and would do best in a home with another dog to help build her confidence. Daisy’s pal in her foster home is Elroy the cat. Daisy is a sweet submissive gal needs the perfect forever home. She is completely vetted. Vetting includes spaying/neutering, microchip, rabies as well as all puppy vaccinations, and has been on preventatives. Her adoption fee of $550 includes the transport to PA. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Daisy up north to her new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Daisy here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 19, 2024, 10:00 am

Story
Can a Collie get a break here?? Yes, we think I am a collie mix and what a handsome boy I am!! I did not look this handsome when I arrived at the rescue, but a DEDICATED foster took me in and nursed me back to health and (even though it will be hard for her), I am READY for my FUREVER HOME!!! I came from a plea at a local animal control facility- I had been attacked by three other dogs at the facility who broke into my kennel and mauled me pretty bad :( My foster mom saw the post and agreed to help, and HELP she DID!!! Even though not a medical foster, she learned ALL the things she had to do to help my body and my soul heal. My back end/sides were torn OPEN on each side, numerous bite marks and punctures and infection when she got me. I spent quite a bit of time at the rescue vet for debridement and treatment of the very serious infections and then she took me home and changed my dressings daily and then weekly and then no more dressings!! I am a very very sweet and cuddly boy. House/crate trained, great with other dogs and everyone I meet (except kitties- not a fan). I am a medium sized boy and I am ready for you!!! My ideal family will love and appreciate my survivor personality, my cuddly and happy temperament and will keep me safe from harm for as long as they are blessed to have me :) Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)
