Story
Meet Louise, the lovable Collie mix with a heart as vast as the Texas sky. Rescued from uncertainty, Louise's story is one of resilience and affection. Her gentle nature shines through in her unwavering love for people; she craves affection and thrives on human touch. But it's not just people she adores-her heart extends to every canine companion she meets, finding joy in playful romps and tail-wagging friendships. Louise's loyalty knows no bounds; she sticks close to her family, her unwavering devotion evident in her excellent recall skills. House and kennel trained, she's a model of canine etiquette. Yet, her past shadows linger, and she seeks solace in the company of other dogs, finding comfort and confidence in their presence. Her journey to healing is ongoing, as she learns to navigate the world she was once isolated from as a puppy. Long hours confined would dampen her spirits, but with the warmth of a loving family and the companionship of other furry friends, she blossoms. Currently fostering in the heart of Seguin, Texas, Louise awaits a forever home where her sweet soul can truly shine, reminding us all of the transformative power of love and second chances.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. MAGGIE-Pierce was saved from a kill shelter in Georgia and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024.  Maggie-Pierce is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. She has an estimated date of birth of 4 November 2023 and in April 2024 weighed of 20 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. This sweet girl is still a baby and so we are looking for families who understand how much work puppies are, who are able to ensure she gets all the socialization she needs, the training, routine and structure to give her the right start to her wonderful life ahead of her. Maggie-P is in a kennel with several other pups similar in age, some bigger, some smaller and she is having a great time playing and wrestling most of the day, when of course they are not snuggled up in a big puppy pile dreaming of their forever families and future lives full of adventure ahead of them. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   t o see a LOT of pictures and videos. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. Maggie-Pierce is located at the rescue in Sebec Maine and is available for a  reduced adoption  fee of $300. Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. https://giveadogahome-rescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5838 HOUSE TRAINED - All of our dogs are located in the kennel building so we are not able to say if a dog is house-trained, however, they do have access and use the dog door to access their run, play area 24/7. FOOD - We feed a variety of high quality brands and flavors including, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb and fish generally alternated daily. CATS - We do not have cats in the kennels and are not able to say how our dogs are with cats. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. FLISS was saved from being shot on the streets of Oman by an amazing organization Muscat Dog Adoption. She along with her 7 friends were flown into JFK where they were cleared the CDC and then picked up and transported back to Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on 5 April 2024 Fliss is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped. She has an estimated date of birth of 2 September 2021 and at the time of transport weighed around 42 pounds. Mixed breed dogs in Oman are referred to as Omani Wadi Dogs, with most of them being Saluki mixes. FLISS was really scared when she first arrived and wanted to keep her distance, which considering all that she has been through leaving her country and rescue and arriving in America is to be expected. She shares a kennel with her amputee friend, KAI who has helped her settle and gain confidence and within just a few days she was charging around playing with him and has been letting me pet her and rub her neck and scratch her ears, which she really likes. She will most likely be scared when going to her new home, as most dogs are so we are looking for a family who understands and can be patient and give her time to adapt.  Sight hounds do need a good amount of exercise, they tend to have bursts of energy, like Greyhounds and so a relatively active family is needed and one that can give her the lifestyle that she needs and deserves to thrive. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue    YouTube channel   and    photo albums on our Facebook page   to see a LOT of pictures and videos.
