Meet Pudge, a male 1-year-old Heeler mix.Pudge is looking for a home that can help him feel safe. At the adoption center he is spending his days in the managers office learning to trust staff. Pudge is under-socialized and fearful at times. He is more comfortable when he can be around another dog and is likely to do well in a home with a more confident K9 companion. Pudge currently needs a home with no small children as they will startle him. A fully fenced in yard is a must while Pudge learns to be on a leash. While we know that Pudge is going to need a special adopter, we are confident that he is going to be a very loyal companion once he feels safe and bonded. If you are interested in adopting this pet, please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org and a staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been received.A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known.
