Story
Gary is a Gorgy mix, estimated 6-year-old neutered dog who was rescued on July 1, 2024, from a high-traffic area in Caguas, PR. Gary is vaccinated, on preventives, and tested 4dx negative. He has shown himself to be friendly with both people and other dogs. He enjoys morning walks, eats well alongside other dogs, sleeps well, and travels comfortably in his kennel. Gary is very active and mostly does his business outside. He would thrive in an active family that can provide him with regular playtime and walks, ideally one or two times a day. Gary would be a great pet for a family that loves adventure and outdoor activities.

Story
Young 2 yr. old Corgi, found abandoned...Smores is a special case: To make things a little easier we will put our pups in categories ... such as, We have dogs who need experienced homes, meaning the home has no kids, and a lot of structure:..Smores is one of the.  Some dogs can get away with being treated like a kid but some dogs need to be treated like a dog. This by no means means , living outside, or not giving love and attention to them. It means not being babied but we, instead, need to be a good leader and have rules for them. To avoid any issues, you must manage the situation. We do this with teenaged kids all the time.... for example, you don't leave your car keys just anywhere so your teen doesn't try to take the keys and go for joy rides in your car without permission. Training starts from day one, teaching your new dog what you expect from them: Also teach with positive reinforcement. If a dog guards, start with feeding him from your hand. Teach him to give up a toy for something more exciting, a small piece of cheese or a cookie. Management is a part of every day life., NO kids, experienced ( meaning has worked with a dog that had issues in the past), and he loves dog friends so a dog or 2 In the home is needed. Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##2161840##

Story
Meet Cowboy, the lovable and hilarious Corgi who’s ready to find his forever home! At just 2 years old and 38 pounds, Cowboy is a neutered male with AKC papers and an absolute heart-melter. He’s a true lovebug always eager for pets, cuddles, and attention—at times, you might even swear he’s smiling! Cowboy is friendly with other dogs and would thrive in a home where he can continue to build his confidence around large dogs. While he’s still learning the ins and outs of new social situations, he's been getting along well with his previous foster's Great Dane. Cowboy is housebroken, crate trained, and loves having a space of his own—he often goes in and lies down without anyone asking, though he’s always ready to come out and join the fun whenever you’re ready. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and endearing dog with a personality that will bring joy to your life, Cowboy is your guy. He’s ready to make you smile every day and will quickly become the cherished member of your family. Story
PUPDATE... I just moved to Connecticut so you can easily meet me, fall in love, and take me home! Hi there, I am an extremely sweet and nice boy named Charlie. I am about 1-½ years old, 30.4 lbs and I'm a Jack Russell Terrier/Corgi mix. I was a stray dog at the San Antonio Animal Shelter, just biding my time, wondering what my chances were of getting outta that joint when 4 Little Paws Rescue decided I could do better than Texas. My new foster mom brought me home and I think has been madly in love with me ever since. She keeps petting and snuggling me, giving me kisses, and telling me what a good boy I am and she's right. Not to toot my own horn, but I am a keeper. A family-friendly, dog-friendly sweetheart. I love to play and run Zoomies but I’m not bonkers. I have a medium-low energy level, calm and easygoing and I love my people. I love doggy toys, walks to the park, and rides in the car. I am well-behaved and housetrained, learned to use a doggy door in just 1 day, and when my foster mom leaves the house I like to sit in a chair near the window and watch for her return. When she walks in, it’s like I haven't seen her in years I’m so happy turning in circles and wagging like crazy. I’m just as sweet as can be and I am ready for the best and final chapter of my story… meeting my new family and proudly wearing my new dog collar adorned with my name and your phone number, hint-hint. East Coast families, inquire about me today, and let's get this party started! * 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.
